Location Location Location It was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I would say 2 star. The location is perfect, but the rooms and bathrooms are old and not very well maintained. It should not be so difficult to make sure the equipment is at least firmly attached to the walls and cabinets.

This is our second stay at the confortel Almirante - just as good as the first time! Room was exactly the same - comfortable - clean - good space and nice and quiet even thoughon a main road! There was a strong smell of sewage at some times in room 512 - But I think this was because the window was sometimes open and unfortunatley a lot of Barcelona smells like that!

unfriendly reception service. asked us to pay booking in full in advance. wireless internet is horrible! kept cutting out every 2-3 minutes. lighting is really poor in the bathrooms. fitness room can hardly be called a fitness room and the only treadmill available was broken. art and design is really ugly, especially the painting of the clock on the wall in the rooms. we asked for hot water to make our own instant coffee in the room and the refused to give us any saying that there was no hot water after 3 PM! our room had a horrible view of roof tops and laundry. I was overall quite disappointed.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Good location. We were very disappointed with the hotel, because the star rating and the pictures on the website made it look like this would be a really nice place and worth spending a bit more money on for a special treat. Unfortunately, it turned out to be expensive for nothing. The rooms was very small, with no views and we had the choice of having either a small room with a double bed or a slightly larger one with two small beds. We chose the larger room which was still tiny and the beds could not be joined properly. There were also no coffee or tea making facilities, which I would expect in a four star hotel. In the end, we changed hotel to stay in an apartment close by, with full kitchen facilities, which was much cheaper and way nicer. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you feel like spending money on something that is not worth it.

Location was close to Gothic Quarter. does not deserve 4 star rating. Bed was a fold out, toilet door did not shut properly, view from tiny window was of pipes, there was no sound proofing as per website ( could hear people walking around in the hallway, shuttibg doors, talking, chairs scraping on floor above etc) no tea or coffee facilities, tiny tv provided not the flat screen as advertised, minibar had free bottled water but nothing else in it

There is nothing to like about the Confortel Almirante expect actually leaving the hotel. Room 111 is the closest thing to a prision cell I have ever seen, with no natural day light. On openeing the frosted window we noticed burned tin foil cigrette lighters and discarded old underware. We where then moved to room 711 the following morning after making several complaints to very unhelpful hotel staff. On moving to room 711 it appeared better it had a balcony and natural day light however did not meet the 4 star rating that the hotel claims to hold however it was still an improvement on our previous accomodation or so we thought !!!! On returning to the hotel after dinner I went to bathroom and found a cockroach in the toilet I was shocked and horrified. We were not moved until the following morning after I threatened the manager with the enviromental health department. I was immediately given the "best room" in the hotel and a 25% discount on one nights stay. This hotel is not a four star by any means I have stayed in better hostels !!!!!! do not stay here

Staff seemed indifferent to our needs, did not take time to answer questions adequately and were not particularly friendly. Good customer service is having a rapport with the public and simple conversation goes a long way towards establishing a welcoming atmosphere. We have another stay scheduled at your hotel in Lisbon but are reluctant to keep it, we shall give your company one more try. No parking available and public parking cost us $50 daily down the street.

The service was good but that's all. Excellent location and in the middle of the action the Gothic and El Born areas offers Overpriced, definitely NOT 4 stars. The room I had was tiny (which I expect in Europe) but when the bathroom door only opens half way as it bangs into the toilet - well, this tells you everything. Room decor is a little tired. At $150/night it was overpriced for what you get. Next time I would probably book a hotel in the Eixample area - which I did on a prior visit and the subway makes it very easy to see all of Barcelona

Very good location - close to El Born and Old Town. Friendly and service minded staff. Not a 4 star hotel, more like a 3 star. Still, good value for the money and you get what you pay for.

The room resembled a prison cell with one small window high up. On the outside of the window to the bathroom there was human waste and used toilette roll that had dripped down from a pipe above our room. The staff who ran the restaurant didn't understand any English at all and basically ignored us when we asked for something. For the amount of money that we paid for this stay, it was an absolute disgrace. If you are going to put people in a box room with a view of pipes you should drop the price by a huge amount (and warn them that that is what they are going to get), the room was for backpackers or people on a budget but the price charged was not. The hotel totally ruined what was supposed to be a special trip.
