The hotel is charming and comfortable. We stayed here 31 years ago and always remembered the beauty of the courtyard and the lovely room. It took us a long time to come back, and we enjoyed it just as much this time.
Our room was facing the street that is used to get from the Alhambra ticket office to the palaces, so it was very noisy during the day. It was fine with the windows closed. It would be better to get a room facing the courtyard.
Hospitality of the staff, location and charm
Difficult to eat except during regular Spanish hours...a small menu of snacks before and after dinner would have been great!
location location. And food better than at the next door Parador which was horrible.
Perfect location! Friendly and helpful staff! Strong WIFI signal!
The room was clean, the toilet disinfected, but the shower tiles was dirty.
I felt welcomed by the young man on duty the night we arrived. He carried my suitcase to my room without my even asking. The breakfast staff were also very pleasant .
How confusing and exhausting it was to exchange online vouchers for the real Alhambra tickets. We ended up walking all the way to the entrance before finding out that there was an actual "first" entrance to exchange vouchers for tickets .
quirky atmosphere lovely (superior) room with balcony
bit pricey no evening meal parking a long walk from the hotel in the general parking lot for the alhambra
Air con needs to be turned on by front desk, and went off in the middle of the night--- so the room was very hot
Location, location, location. A really very pleasant small hotel with a very friendly staff.
The location inside the Alhambra was excellent. The hotel itself was charming. The room was quirky, but had everything. The owner managed to get us tickets for the Alhambra when it was sold out online.
the difficulty in finding the hotel. The distance from the car park. The restaurant was not open on Saturday evening. The room was not sound proofed in any way. The mattress was hard.
You can't beat the experience of night alone, walking in the Alhambra with some of towers lighted Staff excellent and helpful, modern bathroom, view out window of towers , comfortable and well-appointed dining rooms, unique experience--our most memorable lodging in 3 weeks in Spain. Our most memorable lodging in 3 weeks in Spain. You can't beat being alone after tourists have left, enjoying quiet and lighted building facades. Comfortable well-appointed lounge and dining areas (indoor and out under vines), very helpful staff, modern bathroom and historic-modern decor, paintings, choice of prices and amenities (it would have been nice to have balcony room--and we would have paid for it if available), but ours was certainly adequate.
no elevator (we were on 3rd floor), but staff happy to help carry.
Location, staff, comfort of room, bed, and beauty of the entire place
Was a stopping point for Alhambra visitors, so was sometimes very noisy during the day
Arriving and being able to get tickets to the Alhambra
Good location, close to most everything. Great and friendly staff.
Small rooms. Noisy.
Above all a great location for the Alhambra. The hotel exudes atmosphere. The room was cosy and the staff more than adequate. They even booked us our visit to the Alhambra over the phone (well in advance!)
Nothing really. We ordered the breakfast one morning but it was a bit too much especially when we were off sightseeing early on. Next day we just ordered croissants and coffee. Disappointed that they no longer do full meals in the evening (this was a feature when we came the first few times). There's nowhere else to eat within 10 minutes walk but that's not a problem; I exclude the parador which gets booked up and is pricey.
Perfect for visiting the Alhambra
No elevator. A bus ride from the City center.
The position to reach the Alhambra was excellent as is in the grounds.
The constant walk uphill from the Puerta Nueva
Loved the character of the hotel and the incorporation of antiques and period pieces. Couldn't beat the location surrounded by the beauty of the Alahambra - and an easy walk to town. Lovely courtyard, friendly and helpful staff.
Water temperature and pressure a bit of a problem. Breakfast options were either very expensive or very limited. Parking was confusing and quite a ways from the hotel. This is not the best option if you plan to be using your car during your stay.
Ideally would have been better to be able to eat in evening
I liked being on the Alhambra close to the beauty of it all. Night time was magic. Staff excellent and kind. Room had tub. Breakfast simple but good.
Noise from room next door- but they went to bed early, so it was not upsetting
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff Spotlessly clean A hotel with character
Small old bed. No lift. Very old fashioned.
The hotel is located within the Alhambra along with one other hotel. This means you can pop back and forth if needed. Also means no need to rush anywhere at the end of the day
The whole hotel feels old and tired and slightly dirty. The night staff spoke no English which made checking out and organising a taxi difficult .
The staff were delightful and always very helpful. The location is perfect for seeing the Alhambra. We loved eating in the court yard.
The shower a little difficult to operate.
Ambience. Proximity to Alhambra
Tiles in Room 107 bathroom need regrouting. Did not realise that car park so far from hotel and it was very expensive. This should be made clear when booking. Breakfast expensive at €8.50.
location was great. room was very good would recommend room 2226
parking is poor, breakfast poor
