I choose this hotel as one of the few nicely priced hotels in central Madrid without complaints about street and hotel noise. It is really true! We were at the street side but total silence. Large room with separate bathroom and facilities all ok. And it's in the very middle of the city, no tube needed for all great attractions. The quiet terrace at 50 m on Plaza Carmen is perfect for the tired tourist in the hectic centre. Highly recommended. With 3 stars one may expect some luxury which is not there. But for €50 per night one gets more value then in any other European capital. The beds were a bit plain but good enough for a good night sleep

It was in the centre so one can visit as many museums within walking distances. Even in the evenings one can enjoy night life and not worry about transport.

Some of the staff were friendly while were very discourteous and mean to get you out before the check out time in order to accommodate other guests. I think is a question of money which is not all to life. the rooms could be a little more spacious. Cleanness is a big factor. I paid 75.00 Euros which is over $ 100.00 U.S. and I did not feel that I got my money's worth. However, I booked this hotel on the basis of the some other reviews. I was disappointed.

Very near to two main metro stations - Gran Via & Sol The room has very bad ventilation that it captured the smell from outside, hence it smells like McDonalds/KFC. It's very old and toilet can be dirty. Breakfast is only 1 bun (which they call a sandwich) with 1 drink of either orange juice, coffee or tea.

It's great location. Honestly I didn't like the beds, they were too hard, but still it is a good hotel.

The room was great! Really spacious! The hotel was much closer to Puerta del Sol than I expected. Loved it! Sometimes I couldn't connect to the wifi. I only had my phone, though, so I don't know if I would have had the same problem on my laptop.

It was pretty cheap, and the staff was pretty friendly (although their English wasn't particularly good). The room was in pretty poor shape: the ceiling paint was peeling badly. Bathroom shower curtain was tearing at the bottom. Cleaning staff ignored "do not disturb" sign. Carpeting was pretty dingy. Safe was not large enough to store electronics such as laptops.

Excellent location, close to Gran Via and Sol metro stops but in a quiet square. It was very quiet in the rooms even though it was a pre- Christmas weekend and we were at the front of the hotel. Charming with character. Loads of places to eat within a few hundred yards.

The location is great, it's really near Plaza Mayor and Gran Via which is great if you want to explore Madrid on foot. The rooms are very clean and it's really cheap and Wifi is free. The room could really use a makeover. It' s pretty uncared for and the beds are a bit uncomfortable. But if that doesn't matter to you I recommend this hotel because of its location and price.

The staff was very good to us and the way they are attached to the restaurant is wonderful. The desk always had someone in attendance. The restaurant staff was also great and we made friends because we stayed so long at the hotel and went to the restaurant every day.

Very central location between Gran Via and Sol. The soundproofing protected the room really well from the outside noise (but not so much from the inside one). The airconditioning in the room was highly inefficient. With late September temperatures of ca. 30 c during daytime, but only ca. 15 c at night, it was able to cool the room just enough to make it possible to sleep (not very comfortably though), but no more than that. Consequently the hotel may be ok in other seasons, but it is better to be avoided in summer. However, I am not sure if other Madrid hotels are anything better in this respecty, probably the best option is not to visit this city in summer at all.

Great bachelor pad type room. It is clean, but not knew. If things like smudges/scratches on the floor or a few marks on the walls matter to you, you might not like this hotel, but I found it incredibly comfortable and stayed for 3 nights instead of one. My room had a great and large balcony overlooking the square. Quirky things, like the water in the sink squeaks, but the water pressure/shower is great, comfortable bed, nice staff. Great value, and lots of character. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Madrid next.

Location of the hotel is very convenient for city trip, shopping, sightseeing in Madrid. Practically you can be at a lot of famous place by foot. Rooms are enough comfortable and for a good price for people whom the main aim is trip and not hotel facilities in spite of the absent of included breakfast. There is cafeteria on the ground floor or you can buy foods in a shop what is the next door to the hotel. If you prefer to have dishes at a restaurant it takes one minute to be at the nearest.
