I choose this hotel as one of the few nicely priced hotels in central Madrid without complaints about street and hotel noise. It is really true! We were at the street side but total silence. Large room with separate bathroom and facilities all ok. And it's in the very middle of the city, no tube needed for all great attractions. The quiet terrace at 50 m on Plaza Carmen is perfect for the tired tourist in the hectic centre. Highly recommended. With 3 stars one may expect some luxury which is not there. But for €50 per night one gets more value then in any other European capital. The beds were a bit plain but good enough for a good night sleep

Location was great, close to Plaza del Sol Temp. Reached 90f in Madrid, and hotel was unable to provide ac, rooms were stifling hot, and if you opened the windows, you couldn't sleep at night due to noise

Friendly, nice and cooperative staff. Located near the centre of the city with walking distance to shopping, tourist and leisure places. It is very noisy during the night. It is not possible to have a relaxed sleep till the dawn!

I've stayed at the Anaco many times over almost 20 years. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The location for me was very good and the room rate was reasonable. Also, importantly I've always slept well. (Quiet, except on the first floor. Refuse to accept a room on the first floor as it is noisy!.) This visit was unacceptable; The room (1st floor) was disturbingly noisy, the telephone to reception did not work and there was a light bulb missing from the only floor lamp (inconvenient.)

The room was great! Really spacious! The hotel was much closer to Puerta del Sol than I expected. Loved it! Sometimes I couldn't connect to the wifi. I only had my phone, though, so I don't know if I would have had the same problem on my laptop.

Excellent location, close to Gran Via and Sol metro stops but in a quiet square. It was very quiet in the rooms even though it was a pre- Christmas weekend and we were at the front of the hotel. Charming with character. Loads of places to eat within a few hundred yards.

It was in the centre so one can visit as many museums within walking distances. Even in the evenings one can enjoy night life and not worry about transport.

The location is great, it's really near Plaza Mayor and Gran Via which is great if you want to explore Madrid on foot. The rooms are very clean and it's really cheap and Wifi is free. The room could really use a makeover. It' s pretty uncared for and the beds are a bit uncomfortable. But if that doesn't matter to you I recommend this hotel because of its location and price.

The staff was very good to us and the way they are attached to the restaurant is wonderful. The desk always had someone in attendance. The restaurant staff was also great and we made friends because we stayed so long at the hotel and went to the restaurant every day.

Great bachelor pad type room. It is clean, but not knew. If things like smudges/scratches on the floor or a few marks on the walls matter to you, you might not like this hotel, but I found it incredibly comfortable and stayed for 3 nights instead of one. My room had a great and large balcony overlooking the square. Quirky things, like the water in the sink squeaks, but the water pressure/shower is great, comfortable bed, nice staff. Great value, and lots of character. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Madrid next.

Location of the hotel is very convenient for city trip, shopping, sightseeing in Madrid. Practically you can be at a lot of famous place by foot. Rooms are enough comfortable and for a good price for people whom the main aim is trip and not hotel facilities in spite of the absent of included breakfast. There is cafeteria on the ground floor or you can buy foods in a shop what is the next door to the hotel. If you prefer to have dishes at a restaurant it takes one minute to be at the nearest.

Leaving! This is one of the worst hotels I've been to. I had to change rooms 3 times till we found one with working aircon. This cut several hours off my stay as I had to wait around for staff to relocate me. At first they insisted it was working. Later they confessed that the aircon doesn't work at all on the 6th floor. They had completely wasted my time. The street parallel also transforms at night with prostitutes lining the street.

“One street up from Opera, with good Metro connections, the hotel is within walking distance of Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Plaza de Oriente, Callao, and various parks and gardens. There are restaurants, cafe's and bars nearby, and of course many more at the locations I've just mentioned. In other words, it's well-located. JC Rooms itself is a suite of modern rooms. I don't know the range available; mine had a double bed, and bathroom with modern shower, which was all I needed (and Internet), and mine was just that big. Breakfast (if you book it) is at a good local cafe. The wireless Internet connection is included, and works well.” Charles, York |
