The hotel is not known for its food, especially in terms of the British pallette. To be fair, it seems to cater mainly to the German guests, who appear to be very happy with the food. The breakfast is fine, with plenty of options, but i wouldnt bother with booking the half board rate to inlcude the evening meal, but then I dont like to sit in a hotel resaurant every night for a week, it gets pretty boring. The hotel was charging for Wi-Fi by the day, which seemed a bit tight in this day and age, but the strength and reception was very good. If you dont wish to do this, there is a computor in the lounge area, that is free to use as often as you like, and very rarely seems to be used.
Anfora is a down to earth and fairly basic hotel, which is family owned and run, by the same people for many years. It sits right on the edge of the beach, looking directly over the Cala Estancia beach. It is air-conditioned and its clean. The rooms and facilities are fairly spacious and are adequate for the hotel rating. The staff are pretty friendly and laid back. The location is very handy for the air-port. you can be there in a taxi in 5 minutes. We use the hotel Anfora as a base, booking it on a B+B basis, and then renting a car and exporing the island, going out to lunch and dinner at different locations, and visiting different beaches. The hotel is very reasonably priced for what it offers. There are some reasonable restaurants and bars close by to Anfora hotel. Royal Rents just up the road is a very good car hire place and very reasonable. If you dont get a car, you can apparently catch a bus fairly close to the hotel that takes you into Palma in about 20 minutes.
