The apartment is very well located, close to the sea in a quiet neighbourhood, with everything one could need within walking distance. It is comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and we found the air-conditioning to be a very important advantage, since it was very hot in Malaga during the 3 weeks we were there. The host, Rocío, was extremely nice and helpful with everything we needed. All in all, a place I recommend without hesitation.
Amazing reception by staff, who were very helpful and courteous. Good quiet location, close to El Palo beach and easy access to good food in Pedregalejo nearby too.
Liked the apartment with the furnishing, very comfortable for a couple, with washing machine and friendly staff. Close to the market, Chinese restaurant just close to the beach end of the road from the market. Good frequent public transportation to Malaga and close to the beach.
Many stairs leading to the aparetment from the main road (difficult to carry suitcases up) and missing can opener in the kitchen.
Really nice owners, helpful and approachable through Whatsapp! Well-equipped kitchen, spacious apartment, free wifi. Many shops are close, and the beach is within 100 metres. Not a touristy place. Bus stop is close.
El Palo is not really nice, especially at night it is almost without atmosphere. It seemed to be hit by the crisis. The apartment was quite cold and dark, probably this is a Spanish thing in order to shut out the hot summers, but not really good for the atmosphere inside the apartment. Many establishments at the beach are not very tourist-friendly. While we were obviously looking to eat something we were told that the kitchen was closed AFTER we ordered our drinks. At another restaurant the waiter made it sound like 'conchas' were part of the paella we were gonna eat, but charged us 12 euro extra for it. Guess he knew his way with tourists that are not good at Spanish. Many people in El Palo, Malaga were downright unfriendly and grumpy (with some exceptions). Beach at El Palo is not especially nice.
we had a very good experience from the beginning and found the owner very helpful and pleasant without being intrusive. the apartment itself was clean and fresh with all mod cons and wi fi. location also very central. we feel the area was typically Spanish and not full of tourists. easy access to Malaga city by bus which is very cultural and has a good vibe.
there was nothing bad about my trip although we found that the restaurants didn't open till 20.00 hrs and food was very Spanish and limited choices for children.
It was clean and quiet but basic. There is microwave, fridge and electric cooker, kettle and toaster. There is a beach about 5 minutes walk from the apartment, but its small and water is not very clean. There are some shops around which were handy to buy essentials. We stayed here for 2 nights for visiting surrounding areas (excluding Malaga city).
Parking is available on the street if you are lucky. There is a car park nearby but understand its very expensive. The apartment itself is basic. There are no toiletries provided at all, except for handwash. It would have been nice to be provided with a body wash at least. There is no hair dryer in the bathroom. The bed covers in the bedroom were very old and torn at places, although clean. Blankets were not provided at all. It was very warm at nights and when we put the air con on, it would become cold, despite selecting appropriate temperature. I had to ask for the blankets, but the owner could not provide me the blankets on the first night as it was late in the evening. She did provide the blankets on the 2nd night but said that she had to hire them out for me ! I just think something basic as a blanket must be provided all the time and then its up to me whether I want to use them or not. There is not a single English channel on the TV and so not much of an entertainment if you don't speak/understand Spanish.
