We think that the north coast of Tenerife is much more...
We think that the north coast of Tenerife is much more pleasant than the south, it’s much greener, less touristy and there’s some lovely visits to be done. The roads, particularly in the north, are quite hair raising in places, very hilly and twisty, we quite understood by the end of our trip why the car hire company had not bothered to repair all the scrapes! We very much enjoyed the village of Garachico, a few minutes drive from Icod de L’os Vinos, a beautiful little village. Of particular note the restaurant Silogia where we returned for a second visit it was so good, lovely food, beautiful courtyard and friendly efficient hosts. There is also some natural sea water pools which looked wonderful but unfortunately were temporarily closed for some reason. Icod de Los Vinos itself we didn’t visit in depth but we did enjoy the dragon tree and butterfly house. What we did appreciate immensely was all the free on street parking areas everywhere we went in the north and near the beaches.

If you are trekker like us, Icod is a perfect starting point. Climate, closeness to the treks, small playa close by, .... just perfect. Not too big, but big enough with few interesting sights of the town to visit.
Privacy, quite, beautiful view, comfortable house. Owner helpful and friendly. Town is gorgeous, romantic, not expensive, not many tourists. Good restorans, short distance from Loro Parque , Puerto de la Cruise and Siam Park.

We liked the area around Icod.
We liked the area around Icod. The town Garrachico was very nice and we found rough beaches to go swimming. Icod is a friendly town with few tourists when we visited. Lidl as a big shopping center for groceries. The best part is nature around Icod and that it is away from the masses of tourists on the south coast.

Is very good but in one or two years when the Erjos tunnel finish the construction you save twenty minutes in the Teno mountain for the south
and beachs . And then Icod become one of the best place in the midpoint
between north and south

Only 40 minutes by car from North Airport.
Only 40 minutes by car from North Airport. The city is very nice, alive, lots of places to eat and drink. Shops, stores, getting food - or anything you need - is not a problem. Parking can be a pain, but there are places for money where you can leave your car anytime. You can be at Teide Park in 60 minutes.

A perfect location next to the beach, great seaviews from the balcony. Extremely clean big room with all the equipment provided: tv, fridge, coffe machine (even a capsule one), fully equipped kitchen, a shower with pressurized hot water, shampoo, soaps etc.), a tv, tea, coffee, snacks… Everything. The owner sent all the details inc. restaurant recommendations. And was very welcoming and helpful. Like a hotel with lower price (and without other tourists, which was good for me). Thank you so much!
Everything was wonderful from the moment we arrived. Stephanie was very professional, attentive and well prepared for our arrival. The building itself is very charming and we fell in love with their courtyard. Complimentary red wine, coffee, tea, muffins and bananas was truly a special touch. The breakfast was amazing and just like in a 5 star hotel - a la carte, fresh ingredients and with local specialties. We would love to stay longer next time we visit. Thank you for making out stay special.
Great location although slightly further up the hill but the roof terrace is beautiful with loads of plants and chairs for sitting and watching the sunset/stars/planets. Heiko was a superb host, he has really set the standard for great accommodation in Icod de Los Vinos having reliable Wi-Fi in rooms and on roof terrace. My family stayed in more expensive places in the town nearby but Apartmentos Monasterio beat them hands down! Will definitely stay here again at some point in the future.
Elevated terrace with views of both the sea and the mountains to the front of the home and an excellently kept secluded garden full of flowers, plants and trees behind the building.
Proprietor was lovely and always available to help us while there.
Village is small enough to be quiet but large enough to have restaurants, shops and other convinces.
Car park just accross from the hotel.
Beautiful home with wooden staircase and immaculately clean rooms.
The place is located uphill of Icod de los Vinos (around 10-15 min drive to the centre), surrounded by forests and with Teide views. Very calm and ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature. We stayed at El Naranjo, one of the old little houses, which was cozy, very clean, and decorated in rural style. The house is well-equipped with all you can need for a stay of a few days, including fast internet connection. The owner was kind and very available.
the hotel is located in the very center of Ico de Los Vinos. There's a banana museum, a church with a Sunday market, a butterfly park, the famous Dragon tree, as well as grocery stores, bars and restaurants right next door. The hotel is very beautiful, ancient, comfortable and tidy. In the hotel's patio and terrace, surrounded by palm trees and banana trees, we exercised in the morning. Great breakfast! Welcome, I recommend it!
The private room felt like a hotel room but the common dormitory was nice too, clean, comfortable, and it seemed to me more spacious than the one at Puerto Nest. The neighbourhood is quiet. The gargantuan buffet breakfast on the roof with a view is a Nest Hostels trademark, this one comes only second to the one at Puerto Nest (but the bar is high). When there is no staff at the hostel, you can speak to someone via Whatsapp.
I liked the concept: typical Canary Island house and shared services. The guy in charge of the house was very friendly and kind and always ready to help. The house is not a modern hotel so one must keep this in mind when booking, but if you are not a picky guest you will enjoy the lovely place, the very clean shared facilities and the kindness. The price is also cheap so definitely one will get value for money.
The setting is amazing, with plenty of terraces and outdoor areas, pools and a well equipped kitchen with a laundry room and spacious lounges. All cleaning products provided including dishwasher tablets and laundry products, plus spices and oil. . Netflix available.. Good location to visit Masca and La Oratova , plenty to see and do in Icod de los Vinos. The hosts were helpful and good communicators.
Very nice and cozy location in colonial style. The hotel is located in the City Center, but parking was no problem with the nearby parking garage which is for guests of the hotel for free.
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious with a good variety of foods. However the rooms at the back are quite dark with small windows only.
The staff is very nice and helpful. We had a good time.
Fantastic location between ocean and volcano! Icod de los vinos 5 min drive, Garachico 10 min. Large supermarket Mercadona and super Dino in Icod and Lidl 8 min drive away. Ideal place for self-catering holiday and exploring North Tenerife! My driving skills improved after driving up and down steep concrete road and practicing three point turn over and over))
The chalet is well equipped and we loved the quiet surrounding, far away from the buzz of hotels and tourists.
The views on Teide and the sea from the terrasse are fantastic and well worth a sundowner every night :-)
We also enjoyed the local fruits that were provided at check-in as well as the self produced wine. Made the experience very authentic.
We spent 14 nights in this wonderful hotel. Its a perfect and beautiful "oasis" in Icod de los Vinos and has a perfect location for experiencing the north of Tenerife and Teide National Park. The service and help offered around everything around your trip is outstanding.
Traditional build Canary house / hotel with courtyard in superb condition, despite being in the historical center it is super quiet and simply a perfect gem. Breakfast was amazing, service flexibility of staff were TOP! I be back here for sure.
Secure onsite parking, friendly and responsive hosts, easy check in, good wifi, and very spacious. It was far from the big cities of Tenerife, but Icod de los Vinos is a town with an impressive historic-artistic heritage.
Beautiful old Tenerife style hotel with lots of wood features. The setting was beautiful with little court yard and outdoor sitting area. Location is good in the heart of the old town.
