The rustic, original look. The central location yet quiet street of both apartments addresses. I stayed first for 3nights in Callee San Jyan de los Reyes. It has a lift and communal roof terrace with great views of Alhambra. Communal washing machine. Good secure locks as there was no staff there or reception as such. Quaint and satisfactory. The Santa Ana by the River had underfloor heating and was spacious enough. In winter it's quieter as most of the bars don't open at all hence much better at night. Staff very good English and quick to attend to issues.
Apartment needs modernising, the blankets are worn dull and very old fashioned, the sofas have seen better days, some new upholstery would work wonders. All the lights had harsh blue energy saving bulbs, all a bit harsh on the eye with no bedside lamp or actual reading light. The shower was impossible to get right with very poor water pressure. There can be a smell from drains in most big cities, decent plumbing can usually prevent the backdraft coming indoors through sinks. This should be addressed as an air freshner really isn't suffice. No kettle so had to keep boiling water for tea in microwave. Doors very stiff and noisy to open so need to be strong and have no conscience about disturbing your neighbours. Apartment was warm and cosy but the pipes made a lot of racket when coming on in the morning. There was also a very unfortunate jackhammer drilling noise which started around midnight and went on for 6hrs every night. Staff aren't on site but they did try to find a source/ solution but failed. Unfortunately after 3 nights of no sleep I had to move. Other apartment across the road was ok but had a very dark bedroom facing rubbish outside window. Again awful lighting throughout, Plastic flowers and Fruit, bad cutlery and could do with a facelift. No staff on site at all so one can contact them by phone only from 12 midday -11pm daily. With a little love these apartments could be so much more charming!
There is fabulous roof terrace and the property is in a great location, and its not expensive.
No kettle, cold water tap in bathroom sink didn't work. In January an electric heater is needed to supplement the central heating which is on a timer. Altogether a bit neglected.
heating system was not good.actually all the family had to fight with cold and also some got cold. Dont recommend choosing in winter. Wifi didnt work even we entered the correct password.
Perfect location, and nice Apartments With all facilities you need for Your stay. Recommended for a stay in Grandada.
Parking is a Challenge in this city, but once you have found it, it is a 5 minute walk away from the Apartment.
Excellent location- Stone throw away from city centre Decent Apartment
Costly for one bedroom apartment No parking in the apartment- You need to pay 14 Euros per day to park in public parking which is few hundred meters away. If you brave driving to the apartment, you are most likely to receive fine as the road to the apartment pass through the city centre which are restricted to bus and Taxi. The road leading to apartment is very narrow.
The location was excellent - really central.
Unfortunately there was never anyone on reception so there was no-one to speak to if there were any problems or for advice about where to go etc.
Excellent location; spacious apartment; great terrace facing the Alhambra; good kitchen. Handy to Granada's best tapas bars. Great value for money.
The walls are paper thin and noise from the other apartments carries - this wasn't a big problem, because no one was particularly noisy - other than a baby. A previous tenant had left large greasy marks on the bathroom floor, which had to be cleaned before we could use it. The Wi-Fi was virtually unusable in the room, so we had to sit down near Reception to use it effectively.
Really central location in albaycin area of Granada within walking distance of Alhambra, Cathedral and Sacromonte. Close to restaurants and tapas bars. View of the Alhambra from the roof terrace was amazing.
Good location, around 15 min walk distance from Alhambra. Staff is very kind and speaks English. Parking in Granada costs 25e per day, but the staff can arrange you a discount for 14e in Parking House SAN AGUSTIN.
The surrounding is a bit noisy as it's near the center and pubs.
Location and price.
No windows in the room.
The views of the Alhambra and the neighbourhood was beautiful! Located in the middle of all the life of the Albaicin neighbourhood and the Alhambra was easy to get to. Staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Do not, I repeat, do NOT drive to the address provided on the ad unless you looking for an adventurous ride. Streets extremely narrow.
Short walk to centre (although apartment is up quite a steep hill which is cobbled). Great tapas bars and restaurants only a short walk away.
The apartment was advertised for 6 people, there were 5 in our party and it was cramped. There is no soundproofing so you hear EVERY sound from the other apartments and people walking home on the road outside, it was difficult to get any sleep. Very little equipment in kitchen, which we only used for cups of tea and bread and tomatoes for breakfast - but there wasn't even a bread knife. No kettle. Only 3 cups and 3 towels left in apartment yet the booking was for 5 people- poor service. Toilet seat was broken on arrival, it was reported a man came and left saying he had to get a part but never returned. Grout in bathroom had black mould and needed a good clean. Stayed 3 nights and was glad to leave
Location as within walking distance of the Alhambra
Noise from cars going down the narrow cobbled road outside our apartment. Lack of kitchen facilities - No oven - just a microwave and an electric kettle would have been useful. Apartment was dark because of proximity of adjacent high building opposite the external window to the road
There is a nice view out of the lounge window down on the Darrow river and the little tapas bars. I would say the location is excellent if you like to stay in the old authentic part of the city.. which we did & the Albayzín is magical. If you want to stay in the Albayzín; then this was okay, The only good thing was ‘Marou’ the young Spanish man, who booked us in at the second apartment. He was delightful and made sure that we had extra pillows and towels etc.. and made us feel very welcome. He speaks very good English and has studied over here in the UK..NB: he is saving to come back to the UK to continue to study and really deserves a little tip for his kindness..
I looked at all the photographs posted by the Santa Ana Apartments and thought how lovely they looked and we were looking forward to the pretty apartments, the patio, the roof terrace and the fantastic views of the Alhambra etc.. as advertised. We picked up a Taxi from the Granada Bus Station and we had no problems finding a taxi to take us to Albayzín and the address given by the Santa Ana. However, when I rang the number given by the Santa Ana - we were told to go to another address. We could not understand the person on the phone and she spoke poor English and was really quite annoyed’ with us. We then received a text to say to go to ‘Puente Cabrera, 9’ – we had no idea where to go. After many phonecalls to the Santa Ana (0034 670 524 182: use this number as what they actually send you with booking is incomplete and unobtainable!) and insisting that we were lost and that they must come to the San Juan des Reyes to find us.. Someone did ‘eventually’ come and walk us to the apartment to which they had placed us. This was in fact a very long walk down narrow cobbled streets and many steps to the bottom of the Albayzín and back up the other side of the valley. This was very, very difficult with large and heavy suitcases (also with an injured knee and my one friend with an injured foot). This was also unnecessary as we really needed to have been provided with an address where they had placed us – so the taxi could have easily taken us there and not to the place for which they give you an address. The Santa Ana’s second apartments at the ‘Puente Cabrera, 9’ are ugly, have no Spanish influence have no roof terrace, no patio and no view of the Alhambra. The apartment was clean, but had very basic amenities. The style of the apartment & the furnishings were drab and dowdy and a horrible cheap modern ugly sofa bed in the lounge. Another problem is that they only provide you with one key..which was very difficult with a group of three friends.
View from the room was great. Apartment was very close to the alhambra and the local sights. Good size rooms, huge wardrobe, 2 extra beds, good kitchen, very friendly and helpful staff.
Bathroom door didn't close and lock was broken, sofa bed in front room was broken and dirty, no air conditioning in main bedroom which made sleeping in there a bit uncomfortable. Wifi was unreliable. I think we got a less comfortable room as we were only staying one night.
Like the authentic style. Very different. View over the Alhambra was beautiful
The noise of the cars & motorbikes in the street below - really quite loud preventing us from sleeping the first night.
all was good
There was nothing we did like.
Liked apartment and location abd the amazing view from the roof terrace.
Been on the ground floor, a lot of noise from people coming in late at night and leaving early.
This was a great find in Granada. View from the one-bedroom apartment was excellent. Size was large and more than enough room for 4 adults. Really happy with what we got and what we paid - great value for Granada. Location - everything that we wanted to see was walking distance from the apartment. The Albayzin is lovely and the Alhambra is about a 15 minute walk uphill. There's a bus that goes up if you don't want to walk. Note - this is an apartment so it's not serviced daily. The staff were probably the friendliest I've encountered during my 2 week stay in Spain.
The clothes washing machine was not working, thankfully I did a load of laundry in Madrid.
Apartment was nice with all we needed and would have been ok if not where it is.
The apartment building is on a very narrow street and up a hill. The access is difficult waking either up the hill or up many steps. Taxis do not want to go to this street.....when we arrived at the bus station, had a taxi load the luggage and when I told the driver the address of the building, he took all the luggage out and said he would not be able to get his car to go to the street. After a dozen taxis, one would take us to the apartment. I would not stay there again.
relatively quiet close to the inner city
There are at least two English speaking contact persons. They can be reached by phone & they reply to my emails in a reasonable time. Naomi was very helpful to resolve any issues arising in the apartment.
Air conditioner did not work properly We were sent to a different building at a different street, only two beds instead of four. Kitchen was dirty Did not have light in bedroom, called twice and never showed up Only two small beds, my children had to sleep together in a couch with really bad mattress Did not have any matches for the stove Not given enough toilet paper, called for more and never heard back We did not have soap for washing machine, not even for one time We were not given any shampoo Outlets in the living room and kitchen were hanging from the wall. There were ants in the kitchen cabinets Towels were thin and old. Bath tub was filthy with mold I took pictures, I will share with you
Very comfortable apartment with amazing view of the Alhambra from the rooftop deck. The neighborhood boasts winding streets, stairs leading to the river, colorful markets, museums & plazas with music and tapas around every corner. Like another world & one of my favorite places in Spain.
That I couldn't stay longer!
We stayed on 3rd floor with our small child, not a problem, excellent elevator. Nice cosy apartment, self-cleaning no problem as I even don't like other people coming and putting my things into order as in normal hotels. Excellent location, both on the way to town centre, Alhambra and Sacromonte tops. Staff was very kind and provided child bed and extra kitchen facilities for making children food. Kitchenette well equipped, almost like at home. When management staff was not on spot, I met a nice cleaning lady Djamila who helped me with bus information (Spanish speaking, but for me not a problem). EXCELLENT roof terrace with a terrific view of Alhambra. Really an exclusive pro.
Bathroom ventilation could have been better, but because of our child diapers, another faint stink was not a big problem. Because management staff is not there the whole day, really only to meet new people coming, once at night there were newcomers who were calling all apartments because they could not reach the managers. But I believe that was a force majeur situation.
