We visited La Manga for a different Christmas and New Years break. Clear blue sky every day and ca 15 degrees in the afternoon. We took long walks/runs along the beaches and visited Murcia and Cartagena as daytrips. La Manga in December was VERY calm, and felt almost as a ghost town. Luckily one restaurant was open (Meson Murcia) where we got good food and free internet five nights in a row :-). The supermarket was also open with delicious fish, meat and cheeze
The first phone number we called for the agency to meet us for the key handover, lead to an office where they did not speak ANY English. Luckily my daughter could explain the situation in Spanish, and we got a phone number to an English speaking person who was then waiting for us, and he was very helpful and nice. A tip is also to bring house shoes :-) The heating worked mostly well (master bedroom an exception). My daughters missed internet a lot, but thanks to the restaurant access in the evenings they survived :-). The balcony is directed to the North, which is probably a great advantage in the summer, but less so in December.
