The hotel and the rooms have a nice, calm atmosphere. As a woman travelling alone I felt very much at ease. The staff was friendly and most of them speak English quite well. The metro station (with a direct connection to the city center) is only 300m away, and the neighborhood itself is also really nice. Having a small kitchenette in the room was very convenient. Bring earplugs with you if you want to leave the windows open at night: there's quite a lot of city noise coming in. Also, you might hear your neighbors if they're noisy. For me that was only one out of seven nights the case, but it really depends on your neighbors and your level of tolerance.

My wife was mugged in Barcelona, sustained physical damages, and lost a number of personal items including her camera, glassed, medications, etc. The staff at the Aparthotel Silver, especially Asunta was most considerate and helpful. They allowed us to use their phone to put a stop on the stolen credit card (a long-distance call to the USA for which they did not charge, got ice for my wife's bruises, and were overall very concerned about my wife's condition. They were wonderful. The air conditioning unit which wasn't really working.

Reviewed 12 April 2012 2 people found this review helpful This hotel was ideally located near to the Fontana metro stop. You are also within walking distance of all the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in a comfort room which faced the courtyard. It had a kitchenette which was very useful and you also had a free safe. The bathroom was nice and had a power shower. They provided toiletries and basics for washing up etc.....We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a great base to visit the rest of Barcelona from. Thank you to all who recommended it on TA! I would recommend asking to face the courtyard as the street itself isn't so pretty. A great hotel for exploring the city from. However, do not choose it if you want to hang out a lot in your hotel as there is no real communal area/ restaurant etc....

We needed car parking on site which drastically reduced our choice..but chose Aparthotel Silver after reading its reviews..and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were well laid out and clean..and although we didn't bother,it would have been possible to self cater using food from the local market and shops. The metro was a minutes walk away and Gracia itself is worth a wander...lots of nice, small shops and bars.Breakfast at 8 euros was maybe a bit pricey but there was plenty of choice which changed each day. It was an ideal hotel for a city break,in a great location.Don't miss Parc Guel!! Noisey bin men outside the room at 03:00hrs but hey this was a city break!

The location of the hotel is really good which is why we chose it. The kitchenette, that had all things needed in a kitchen, is also an advantage.

The rooms are clean and convenients ,there is very useful kitchen which enables preparing meals (microwave ,dishes ,refregirator and Electric stoves. The stuff are very nice and helpful . Thanks ! The location is a bit far from the tourists center ( metro is required to rich Plaza Catalunya for instance) ,the street itself is not friendly for walkers. Inspite of that ,the Fontana metro station is 5 min walking from the hotel ,so the location is not ideal ,but still conbenient.

Great location: close to metro station and easy access (including walking distance) to any sightseeing. Reception open 24/7. Good breakfast - we got it in the offer, but maybe it is not worth 8 euros. Supermarket, grocery shop, coffee shop and bakery all around the corner. The room had not seen a vacuum cleaner in the last 12 months. Kitchen equipment less than minimal. Room very tiny, with no natural light and very very noisy. Weird arrangements between reception and taxi drivers: watch out! Apart from location, no real value added.

The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. I had a room towards their garden, and it was very quiet. I like the location, next to Gracia and the metro station. The room was pretty small and it was cleaned properly.

Location!!! We can go almost everywhere on foot, the hotel is just 3 minutes walk from Fontana metro station and it is safe anytime. Personnel always friendly, speaks good English and could consult on various issues. Good computers and normal internet. The room was not cleaned as it should be but it was not really a point for us! The knifes were not good for cutting cheese and ham...

Really helpful, friendly staff and a great location. Good value, too. I think in future I would request, and pay extra if necessary for, a room with an external window.

very central and close to metro, beautiful shopping streets, and Gaudi art to be admired all around this city. Room given was facing street and very noisy due to night life, but OK for just 3 night stay.

Excellent location in the area of Gracia, 2 mins walk to Fontana metro station, very friendly and helpful staff, and a free bottle of bubbly with chocolates on Christmas day. Great value for money . Highly recommended base for a week's stay in Barca, kitchenette was very handy.

Almost perfect! The room, small kitchen and bathroom all very nice, comfortable, clean. Personal touch. Good internet connection. Location is also not too bad - close to metrostation (few stops to Pl.Catalunya) and also possible to walk to the centrum if not in a hurry. The only negative thing happened on our check out day. Usually it wouldnt be a big thing but on that day it made me really sad... It was my husbands 30th birthday and I asked the receptionist last night if it would be possible to order breakfast in the room for the next morning (otherwise I would have gone to a shop and bought some fruits, cakes and flowers myself) and she said they can do that... Unfortunately in the morning there was another receptionist working who basically laughed me out - "this is a three star hotel, no room service, no exeptions" So we left the hotel with quite sad emotions (and hungry) even though first 3 nights and days were really good.

Fantastic staff. Warm welcome, with information package on Barcelona, chocolates etc. Spotlessly clean rooms, well serviced daily. Good English. Welcoming, yet sophisticated ambience. Free WiFi. Recently refurbished, and bathrooms and kitchen facilities were good. Excellent value for the money, in a situation around 100 meters from a Metro station from which you can easily access all tourist spots. Walking distance to Rambla. Lovely area..like an overgrown village. Supermarkets, shops, eateries very close by. Highly recommended.

This was my 2nd stay in Barcelona and first stay at this hotel (I picked it because of really good reviews). Hotel is in safe part of the town, few metro station away from Plaza de Catalunya and La Ramlba, plus metro station Fontana is just 100m away. Room and bathroom was modern with big Sony LCD screen, CD, Microwave and basic kitchen equipment. Stuff was extremely pleasant, we got box of candies waiting us on bad sheet after first day and Wifi was working just perfect. It was raining during our stay and there was plenty of umbrella you could just pick and use during your stay. Breakfast was great, fresh with all kind of food and fruit, you could make several kind of coffees on machine (from Italian Cappuccino, Americano to Spanish Cafe con Leche), and last but not least, you could eat breakfast in the garden which is beautiful (sadly it was raining so we only used it for once).

For me the location was excellent, although not in a real touristic area. The staff were very helpful. The room was fully equipped with a fridge and cooking facilities. Ratio quality/price was excellent. Paid 66 euro for the room and 8 euro for a buffet breakfast, which was much better than expected reading the comments of other guests. At my arrival the reception was good overall and information given was complete, but would prefer the staff talks just Spanish to me and not a strange combination of German, English and French. The room has a window but no street or garden view, just some walls a few meters away from you, but overall conclusion it remains an excellent 3-star.

The hotel is very near the Fontana Metro Station (1 minute walk) and is very easy to find. There are lots af cafe, restaurants, etc nearby. The room was spacious with a very comfortamble bed, a fully equiped small kitchen and refrigirator. The personel was very kind and helpful. The room had no sun light because the only window was looking on an internal patio of the hotel that had a roof, so the room was always dark. Noise of other hotel customers and extensive heat were problems too, as the room air conditioner was not working. At least a table fan was in the closet so it helped reduce the heat. The bathroom was ok, but the doors of the shower had a realy small opening and it was hard to get inside. There were also marks of mold on the shower walls. I believe that those problems appeared from the room location (no sun, limited air flow) and are not generic for the whole hotel. I would recommend it but in better room.
