Hotel Arenas del Mar - Adults Only  

Room was modern, and looked good but on closer inspection was a little tired -see negatives. Close to airport. Meals were acceptable.

Didn´t like location. Noise from planes. 15 mins walk to village & not much when you got there. Chipped crockery, sheets worn

Close to airport Clean, great views, good standard throughout. Compared to other hotels in the area tips was close to Spanish 4* Beautifully warm salt water pool

No wifi in rooms, no tea/coffee facilities, hotel didn't have an iron !! Menu same each day but edible

The lady receptionist was friendly. Also the spa had friendly and skilled staff for a masage

Everything was dissapointing in this hotel. The rooms are located in a cell block ambiance, similar to the jail appearance from the outside. The room is big but divided by a hughe storage, leaving two small rooms. The matresses are terrible, the hotel is noisy and for a four star beach hotel you would expect a little more than two sacks of showergel/shampoo and one piece of soap. Carefull if you book halfboard (medio pension) because the prices charges for everything are enormous while quality is sickening. Don't think this is a luxury treat!

Locatie, close to airport sud, 15 minute drive free internet if you have your own tablet easy parking overall ok to stay , but not for more then 1 night a 3* plus, not a 4 star

Breakfast was there in quantity but not in quality jets outside till close to 11 am pianist playing in the bar , you coud hear up the the 2nd floor, guess he stopped before midnight in the extreme corner of town, 10-15 minute walk?

The large room

Much, much to cold in room, the location is no good for people who want to sunbathe.very noisey can hear everything that goes on in next bedroom noisy on landings. I will not recommend. Gale force winds spoil relaxation

View from the room was amazing.

The room with the full ocean view is spacious and well decorated. The gym has an excellent view of the waterfront. With the exception of 1 machine, the equipment all worked. The Managers were good. After they intervened there was a big improvement in quality of service. The Cafe was convenient and some of the snacks were pretty good. I liked the Ensalada Mixta. Prices are a bit higher than what you would pay in town, but not too much higher. The common areas of the hotel are lovely and there is internet available trhoughout. I think if the hotel works on getting certain members of their staff to be a bit nicer and not have noisy personal banter in the common areas it would improve the hotel experience quite a bit. The hotel is quite lovely.

Booking.com needs to make sure consistent definitions for room types are used. There is a big difference between Ocean Front and Partial Ocean view. I was ok paying the higher price for this hotel if I was getting a full ocean view as was pictured in the "Sea View" room info. I was not ok with the Partial Ocean View Room the Hotel tried to make me take. The manager rectified the issue. The staff at the check in desk were incompetent and rude. The manager had to intervene before I was treated courteously. The check in process seems unecessarily time consuming, tedious and invasive as it requires the payer and guests to all present ID and sign a bunch of forms. I want to stay in the hotel, not sign every nitpicky piece of paper under the sun! The narrative for the hotel is purposely deceiving: "There is a hot tub, a Turkish bath, a Flotarium and a sauna at the spa. A massage and treatment service is available for an extra fee." The hot tub, a Turkish bath, a Flotarium and a sauna require an extra cost. ANYTHING IN THE SPA REQUIRES A PAYMENT OF EUR 18 PER DAY PER PERSON. There were guests who paid for all inclusive packages who were dismayed to find out about the exorbitant extra fee to use hot tub, a Turkish bath, a Flotarium and a sauna which they thought were included. I would have booked another hotel if I had known about the extra charge. The Spa area actually was not that nice and Hotel Arenas del Mar is considerably more expensive than the other hotels in el Medano that have a much better location. There is no internet in the rooms. It would be nice if the internet was in the rooms as the common areas can be very noisy when the staff stands around in the halls gossiping and bickering. In most hotels, guests are not allowed in the locked storage room without hotel staff present. It would be nice if some rooms would have a proper bed for two people instead of two twin beds pushed together.

Location was wonderful with amazing sea views. Huge varied selection of food available at all mealtimes. Pleasant walk into the nearby pretty town.

Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Room was very comfortable and spacious with a super view. Food and drink was good.

At times it was quite noisy which sounded like furniture moving but this would be my only down point.

The staff were so friendly most of them could speak English even the ladies who cleaned the rooms. My husband is an invalid he was helped at all times.

We were given a disability room which was very nice but the bathroom did not have towel rails or any shelves in the walk in shower for shampoo etc. As you can imagine this made it a little difficult if this could be rectified the room would be perfect.

Habitacion amplia y diseño agradable

La peor cena de nuestra vida, no es digna de un hotel 4*, ni siquiera de un comedor social. Spa con servicio engañoso, el "flotarium" es una simple piscina sin sal. Personal distraido y malhumorado. El diseño del edificio hace que el ruido del lobby y las actividades nocturnas llegue a las habitaciones.

All the staff were welcoming (one bar staff excluded!) they were helpful keen for you to enjoy their hotel and took a real pride in their jobs.The spa girls were lovely and again very helpful

The attitude of bar staff when you asked for a drink ie Baileys that wasnt part of the ai paid,im happy to pay just be polite and inform in a way that doesnt make me feel that im greedy/cheap,i wouldnt mind if I drank to excess and was a "I'm having it -i've paid for it"the only time my friend and I were drunk was the night we went out with friends to another resort and paid for all our drinks !

The pool was beautifully warm so I spent ages in it, even though the weather was a bit cool and overcast. Reasonably good breakfast included in the price. Despite looking like it is a long way from the town, it is only a 20 min or so walk along the seafront and there are plenty of restaurants and bars there.

This does not look like the nicest of hotels from a distance, as it looks like a grey apartment block, but inside it is well decorated and spacious , so no complaints really, although we only stayed for one night on the way back to the airport. I personally would not have wanted to stay in the resort itself much longer, but it would be great if relaxation is what you are after, and you are not too worried about sampling the "real" Tenerife

Adult only hotel. Decor in lobby area.

Lack of information re meal arrangements at check-in. Urine stains on toilet fittings. Crumbs on sofa in room from previous guests. Torn curtain in room. No hotel information in room. Meat at the evening meal was tough and inedible. The waiting staff were indifferent to any comments of constructive criticism. As both of us speak fluent Spanish there was no problem in understanding us.

Friendly atmosphere. Relaxed. Warm. Classy.

The staff are working really hard to make us happy. I think they deserve a break! Or some more staff to help.

I enjoy the area its in and the fact that it is clean and freindly.

Felt it was a bit expensive at €120 per night, especially when i saw it also had guests who were staying on an all inclusive deal. I felt a little overcharged when i saw this. The breakfast was not great either, the food is prepared and left out regardless of how busy it is, its like a stockpile.

Comfortable, relaxed hotel in an authentic part of Tenerife

They charged credit cards in GBP (and so charged commission), without asking which currency I wished to pay in.

There is no kettle in the rooms. Food was not good. There are hotels that are cheaper and better location near the water.

La zona de El Médano en general, con grandes playas naturales y paseos por la costa.

Los horarios muy cortos y tempranos para desayunar (8-10h) y cenar (19-21h), que no te permiten dormir algo más si un día lo deseas, o cenar más tarde para disfrutar antes de un espléndido atardecer.

Junto a la costa y cerca del pueblo y la playa. El desayuno y cena bufet muy buenos. Y el personal muy amable y atento, daba gusto ir al bufet.

De kamer, juniorsuite met zeezicht, was erg mooi en luxueus. De buffetten waren erg goed en gevarieerd en met onze voorkeur - in het Spaans gevraagd - was rekening gehouden.

Het gebied rond het hotel was uitgestorven en erg saai. Het terras had een melkglazen rand op de balkonrand, waardoor je geen uitzicht had op de zee, maar op ondoorzichtig glas. Onbegrijpelijk!

Esta cerca del aeropuerto y junto al mar

El desayuno es una autentica tomadura de pelo. Penoso, lamentable, una verguenza. Es un hotel de 4 estrellas y no barato, precisamente. Una autentica estafa el hotel en general, la peor relacion calidad / precio que he visto en mi vida.

Muy tranquilo y el personal atento.

Le falto un poco de limpieza en el baño.
