A little difficult to find.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here, and found Raphael to be very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately it rained the entire weekend we were in Barcelona, but we had a great time and hope to stay at the Arkupe again.

Met by Raphael at check in...he provided a great rundown of the cities activities. Apartment was clean and the location was perfect. Apartment had extra bed for our 5 year old. Great value and wonderful city!

Great apartment, clean, attractive, central, friendly staff.

Rafael was very friendly and helpful, he advised us on places to go and helped arrange an onwards bus connection. The apartment was perfect, clean comfortable, not noisy, had almost everything you could need for a few lovely days in Barcelona.

You could literally count the steps to the Cathedral de Santa Maria del Mar. The location is perfect for exploring Barcelona on foot/public trans.

Only down about this was we asked for two twin beds and got one queen. We got over it quickly and proceeded to enjoy our stay.

Sensational position in the very heart of El Born - the old part of Barcelona. The guy in reception was brilliantly helpful and friendly. The rooms are secure and very clean. Free Wi Fi - which is worth a lot to me.

Very basic decor and furnishings, but as it was clean they werent all that important.

Location, price and quiet

Apartment was a dark.

The location was excellent: easy walk to the Ramblas, metro and train station. Lots of great tapas places and shops around. Also, the interior design was funky and much nicer than what's shown in the pictures - I was pleasantly surprised. The toaster, electric kettle and hotplates were good too.

The knife wasn't sharp (we ended up buying our own) and the shower hook was too high, so the water would end up falling on the tiles rather than in the designated shower stall area, and thus overflow every time we showered.

Excellent location and very clear written directions for arrival and travel from Barcelona Airport. Helpful and friendly staff. Small two ring hob limits cooking but perfectly adequate for preparing breakfast.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of born. Staff was incredibly helpful with everything. Considering the price, this was an amazing deal.

A bit of noise from the streets, but not overwhelming.

Everyting was excellwnt, the lokation is perfect. We enjoyed our stay very much. The personal was very friendly and ready to help and to answer our questions.

The Arkupe apartments probably have the best location in Barcelona! Situated in the old town close to many of the great attractions, shops, restaurants and also the beach. The appartment was small but beautifully and tastefully decorated. The bathroom and kitchen area were very modern while the rest of the appartment appeared in keeping with the location. You really felt like you were staying in an old European town rather than in an anonymous room that may be found in any hotel/apartment anywhere in the world. The manager made you feel welcome from the moment you arrived and was always happy to answer questions and be of help.

Part of staying in the 'old town' meant that the buildings were high and the streets narrow so there was little natural light and we needed to put lights on all the time we were in the appartment. I love natural light and if I had known this before it would have put me off but actually I found that this was so much part of staying in the location that it was not the problem I would have anticipated. Do not let this put you off. More of a problem was the lack of hot water on occasions. We had almost a whole day with no hot water. We would still return however!

Very friendly and helpful stuff, I've been contacted before arrival and have got detailed and useful information about hotel and Barcelona. We liked tastefully furnished rooms very much. The apartment was fully equipped with all necessary things.

Brilliant location, friendly staff.

Full of character and in an excellent location, close to Las Ramblas, cathedral,beach,museums and transport. Very good value, comfortable and able to cook own meals. Would certainly stay here again and recommend to others.

Only the Spanish way of checking in to self catering accommodation, need to have a mobile phone but luckily there is a public phone in a communications shop around the corner, ask for directions at the jewellers on the corner of the square.

Shower design can flood the bathroom floor if you are not very careful, need better and more towels.

Great place to stay. Everything worked perfectly (including washing machine and wifi). Bed was comfortable and plenty of room in the apertmenty. Location is also very good and close to metro station. Great place to stay and I recommend to other travellers.

Liked everything

The location was excellent. We wanted to be near the city and the beach and transport, which we were. It was very quiet at night which was good and the bed was comfortable. We knew the apartment was small but felt that it was better to have a good location than a larger apartment. The kitchen area was small and limited but manageable. The staff was very helpful.

It would have been nice to have seats that were more comfortable to sit on at the table and to watch tv.
