Friendly and helpful
Ferry route difficult
Friendly, professional, English speaking staff. Value for money
Distance from town.
Fantastic location which meant we had no car parking problems. Easy to get a taxi to Bilbao. We stopped here for our last night before getting ferry home and it was ideal. Excellent value for money.
Difficulty finding it!! It is actually on main road but directions ( and sat nag) took us up to the cable car station.
Staff really friendly. Room really comfortable - particularly the beds. Excellent value for money. Lovely views.
Slightly awkward to find but on the other hand an easy run to the ferry terminal - 18km of good road and no need to go through Bilbao City itself
Very clean and friendly/helpful staff good value for money. would recommend it.
Difficult to find.
Very helpful staff with clear details about finding the port
very nice room with a good view and all facilities
it would be have a restaurant for evening meals
Quiet setting, helpful staff and good room.
Be clear, there are pros / cons for being quite a distance from town and tied to the funicular timetable. But fun too, and suited us.
- lots of parking in private car park, we had no problem parking 2 cars, security guard at night - all our requests were granted (city view, car parking, double bed) - fantastic city views, especially at night - restaurants within walking distance, and more at the top of the funicular - really very helpful staff, without exception - very comfy bed and unusually good pillows, decent sized bathroom and decent shower - easy access via the funicular (2km drive) to the centre of Bilbao, and free parking at the funicular too
- dogs barking nearby, but not at night at least - quite difficult to find initially
We like almost everything about this hotel - the position is ideal and the gardens are lovely. We travel with our old beagle dog, and the hotel caters very well for her too. The breakfast is quite brilliant....
We would like to eat nearby, and have tried the restaurant next door - quite expensive and limited menu. However we did find a good place a couple of miles away, on our last visit, so all was well..
The quiet location Easy parking outside Great aerial view of Bilbao Pet friendly with open spaces for exercise
Dinner no longer available (simple continental breakfast still available at extra cost) 2 restaurants nearby not suitable for vegertarians
Great welcome from reception. Comfortable room with small balcony giving wonderful views of city. Choice of nearby restaurant (hotel restaurant closed on Monday night.) Easy parking of campervan outside. Good choice to get to Bilbao ferry. Breakfast choices were good.
Bilbao traffic is quite alarming after a rural holiday! Used coordinates to find as it is quite difficult.
Friendly staff and beautiful view.
It was a little too far out of town if you are relying on public transport.
Well appointed room with view over Bilbao Nice walk down in to town and the funincular back (the walk back to the hotel is a little over 2kms; there is path alongside the road but no kerb. Not recommended after dark). Alternatively if you there at the weekend, drive down and park on the street. Good value and parking.
View of the city
Finding the hotel via GPS
The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Excellent restaurant on site. Room was comfortable and clean.
Location a bit away from city.
Access to city centre Guard overnight in car park 2 restaurants 50 m away. Includes bar in hotel or in restaurants Gluten free cakes for breakfast
Room a bit hot
The staff and location
Nothing to complain about.
LOCATION VERY HARD TO FIND AND THIS WAS NOT OUR FIRST VISIT!
Just about everything. Great breakfast selection.
we spent a restful quiet night in an excellent location, highly recommended
previous occupants of our room were smokers and the room stank of cold ashtrays, however the reception staff responded quickly to our complaint and resolved the issue
Fabulous views over city. Nice to be off the tourist trail and great to see the other side of the river. Really enjoyed our stay of 6 days.
Be prepared for a hike up the hill if you are walking. Buses to the front door are a bit irregular, buses to the bottom of the steps that lead up the hill more frequent, but it is a hike.
Nice hotel, great view of the city
Room not great, very noisy and couldn't leave the curtains open as we were on the ground floor facing the garden and there were always people coming and going. Breakfast very basic and a bit steep at 7euros
Quiet surroundings with a spectacular view of Bilbao. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean. Breakfast was very good. In the countryside yet very close to cable car that takes you to the city center in less than 5 minutes.
Thin walls. First night we had noisy neighbors that made it difficult to sleep. The next 2 nights we slept comfortably.
Excellent in every respect funicular railway to Bilbao centre is a great way to get into the city as the hotel sits on a hillside with fantastic views over Bilbao. The staff were very helpful.
