Comfortable room, 3 types of pillows. Breakfast with very good quality and diversity. Very close (5' walking) to the city centre (Monterrey palace and Plaza Mayor). Car parking was expensive (15€/day)

Excellent location with added bonus of an on-site car park - really helpful as this was a stop-over. Rooms immaculate and recently refurbished. Breakfast excellent and highly rated by 2 teenage children!

The room rate was very good and the location too. The breakfast was also good. A question: I have a travel company and would be interested in staying at the Artheus Carmelitas with groups of perhaps 20 - 40 people. Perhaps you can let me know group rates please? This is not a complaint, just a comment. I would prefer a lift from the parking area to reception as this can be a difficult walk/climb with luggage. I also think that the parking rate is quite high, although I have not checked this against overnight parking rates in other public parking areas of the city, so it may be the norm; plus it is of course very convenient to have parking at the hotel.

The bed was very comfortable, and coupled with the quietness of the room this made for a very good night's sleep. Breakfast was a good selection of continental buffet with a few cooked options - nice fresh fruit. The hotel is very close (5 mins walk) to the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca and the whole old town is within easy reach. The decor of this hotel is tacky and tired to say the least. Every inch is covered in frills, over the top chandeliers and floral paintings of the type you might find in your grandma's house. It claims to be a 4 star hotel, but there are certain details which were lacking which we would expect a 4 star hotel to pride itself on. For example, the general level of cleanliness of the room and particularly the bathroom were not up to scratch - the bath was dirty, there was a basket to hold the soaps which was covered with rust, blankets (not duvet) on the bed. The painting in our room had slipped in its frame, the room was small and sparse, and he decor was tired and down at the heel. General comfort and cleanliness - disappointing considering the amount we paid. We had difficulty finding a place to stay in Salamanca and when we arrived we realised that this was because it was graduation weekend for the University students. The fact that we were able to get a room here is probably testament to the fact that it is not that great.

The staff were extremely courteous and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. The hotel is lavishly furnished, including reception rooms and bedrooms - almost baroque but in good taste. We loved the spa bathtub and the three different lighting systems in the bathroom and three different heating systems in the bedroom. Breakfast included local specialities and was copious. An obnoxious other customer who invaded personal space during the calm of breakfast. There is nothing that comes to memory that we did not like of the hotel itself.

The hotel was great - location, value for money... the breakfast was great! The city is also very beautiful and well preserved. Lack of parking spaces. The hotel parking was a "mere" 16 euros - prohibitive! In a city like Salamanca just leave the car someplace and walk.

Las habitaciones no están mal. Buena cama y cuarto de baño con bañera yacusi. Buffet de desayuno correcto, pero inferior a la categoría que se pretende y se cobra. Salí con la sensación de haber pagado de más. La decoración kitsch. La impresión al entrar en el hotel es de "dónde me he metido". El mobiliario de estilo clásico contrasta con adornos chinos, dorados, cornucopias, estatuas y lámparas sin relación ni gusto y de baja calidad que se remata con flores y plantas de plástico y papel. En la habitación choca el inmenso espejo dorado con la tv de plasma, el puff de escay y el frigorífico encerrado en un mueble de formica blanco. Todo muy ecléctico y desagradable.

La cama de matrimonio es bastante amplia y almohadas suficientes (3 para cada uno). Estaba en un piso sexto y no llegaba suficiente presión para la ducha, por lo que se hizo bastante complicada. El suelo, no es de moqueta, cosa que me gusta, pero al andar descalzo se notaba que el suelo no estaba lo suficientemente limpio. Es un poco ruidoso.

La decoración del hotel es exquisita, el desayuna bufé es muy correcto, estás a 5 minutos caminando del centro de Salamanca, las habitaciones son muy confortables (televisión lcd, aire acondicionado, neverita, armarios...) y la cama es enorme. Los alrededores del hotel es zona de estacionamiento limitado. Tienes que buscar un parking o pagar 16 euros al día en el del hotel.

Su ubicación En el baño no había nada ( gel-champú) para el aseo personal.Al reclamarlo, dijeron que lo subían inmediatamente pero no fue así. Después alegaron que cuando volviesemos se les avisara para subirlo a lo que alegamos que podían tenerlos ellos en cuenta ya. Se dijo que ellos no querían entrar en la habitación sin que nosotros estuviesemos. Excusa mala cuando los servicios de limpieza entran en las habitaciones para mejor confort de éstas. Nadie se disculpó sobre este asunto ya que entre los trabajadores no hubo ningun tipo de comunicación ni tampoco se anotó la incidencia.
