Everything in the Club
I chose this hotel for the glamorous swimming pool overlooking the famous golden fish. It didn't disappoint, it was simply wonderful to be roof top swimming. I loved the fresh flowers in reception and the charming staff. Its a great location if you like to be by the sea, with many restaurants and bars close by. It's a 30 min walk to the city central or short metro ride.
Everything was so expensive! I think we may have been the only guests who couldn't afford to eat or drink anything at the hotel. Luckily they did supply free bottles of water!
The cleaning person kept entering the room while I was sleeping then calling to check if I wanted service, even though the do no disturb sign was on.
-The escalators are not ventilated ( very hot inside).
Pure fresh air from the sea (~200 m from the hotel) - this is very nice in the hot, somewhat fatiguing Barcelona. Fine and stable temperature regulation in the room. Luxury details in the hotel (fruits, champagne in the lobby, free mineral water in the room and in the pool area) Our price (~275 Euro per night in the mid-end of July for 35 sq m room)
High prices in the "Marina" hotel's restaurant for not too delicious food. Poor WiFi in the lobby. Delays occurred in room cleaning and ice delivery to the room Nonetheless, non-delivery of ice (happened one time) was compensated by deleting the cost of one our dinner from our bill (thanks to a nice lady from reception).
the staffs were friendly and well trained.it's close enough to the beach and plenty of choice for eating.
The view and neatness
The high price
Beautiful facilities, friendly staff
Over priced restaurants, bar. Thought it would have better beach access. Pool area always crowded.
Great pool & gym. Food excellent. Right on the beach
Location is away from the usual tourist attractions, and only suitable for those who want to be by the beach/port. Check location you want.
Location, friendly professional staff, views from our room
Reception area soooooo busy, room was not ready till quite late on the day of our arrival. Pool/outside area not big enough
The check took a lot of time
The check out time was every bad . The hotel refused to make me a check out at 1 pm
I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Highly trained staff ensuring that your every need was attended to.
The swimming pool is too small for size of hotel (420 rooms - I think) which caused over crowding and wait listing to obtain a sun lounger. However the staff always dealt with the situation with the utmost professionalism.
Wifi cost ridicilous,
The hotel is luxury for middle class people; its location (~200 m from the sea) provides a fresh pure air, in contrast to the center of Barcelona in summer. The price for our ~35 qm room (~274 euro for a night in the mid - near end of July) seems to me excellent for this nice, 5* hotel that probably is the best in Barcelona.
a) an impure, people-overloaded beach (it's public, not of the hotel) b) free WiFi in the lobby does not provide connection to any server in the Internet that are easily available when using other WiFi sites c) room service may appear terrible. In the last evening, we asked for delivering ice to our room (this simple service had been quickly provided in other days, without meeting any difficulties). However, ice had not been delivered to us at all (without any explanation) even after reminding three additional times, in two hours. To the hotel defense, I should say that when I told this story to a nice lady from reception in the next day when checking-out, she apologized not only verbally, but also by deleting 86 Euros (the price of one our frugal dinner in one of the hotel's restaurants) from our bill.
For 600 euros per night for a suite, the service was poor. Very little attention to the small details that matter. There were 2 of us, and we only ever got one tiny coffee cup (and one coffee pod) in our room each day, despite asking constantly for two large cups. There's a kettle in the room, but we had to ask for earl grey tea bags each day, and at first they wanted to make a room service charge! Wifi is not free - most hotels have now come into the 21st Centrury on this even the budget hotels, but I was quite appalled that this was not included. We asked twice about other things for our room as we went out for the day, and our requests (despite a cheery "I'll get that done straight away" response) were not met so we had to ask again. The hotel lobby is constantly full of people and noise - this is not a quiet and relaxing hotel outside of your room! The hotel pool is way too small for the size of hotel so we had to wait 2 hours for sun loungers. The system of managing this is very efficient but that's not the point. This was a special wedding anniversary trip and I have never before spent such a huge amount of money or booked a suite. I was expecting not just luxury and the great view, but extraordinary service, and so we were incredibly disappointed.
Art , food , location, view
Great location on the beach. I had a spacious corner room.
I was there on a Monday night. The Michelin starred restaurant was open, but the more casual one closed. The room service menu was uninspiring. . Staff are all international and guests mostly American (while I was there) giving it a slightly bland international feel - lacking in local character.
location, sea view
25 euros for Wi-Fi per day in the room dangerous beach to the right-hand side of the hotel
Everything the view staff location this property is just perfect
Cost of drinks is high but you are in a 5 star hotel inm a stunning location
The best hotel I like everything
Broken shower Congested sink Broken AC sockets WiFi is not stable or $50/day?
Cocktails bed bathroom everything
Drinks too expensive w hotel were a lot cheaper and I've stayed at both hotels
Everything. Champagne on arrival, upgraded room with ocean views for our honeymoon. Free water bottles if you ask for them in a plastic bottle. 3 turn down services a day if needed. The staff were amazing and so attentive. Always helping, changing bookings or offering free entry to clubs. Pool was amazing. I can't recommend this hotel enough. It was expensive but in the end you get what your paying for.
Bed was extremely squeaky
Internet charge per day , and we have to get our own ice from the corridor. I don't mind but for the price we paying per night these services should be included
