nice location, speedy wifi, very helpful staff, sauna, comfortable bed.
bad soundproof. You can hear everything like water running, people in another room talking......
Breakfast was a little bit expensive. Not bad but overpriced.
The spacious room and two sinks! Very useful staying with my daughter. Lovely bed linen! The decor and colour scheme of hotel and room.
Preferred evening dining in upper restaurant area. Food was very good but would have liked a choice of Spanish fare too.
Hotel providing Cava for my birthday!. Rooms were fab!. Everything that you would need was in there.
Not enough cooked breakfast options
Location and staff helpfulness
Wifi is good, rooms are clean, quiet and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful. The Atrium is perfectly located, close to everything you need in Barca: food, shops and tour.
The elevators and the blow dryers. (so if these were our issues you know we had a good stay!)
My association with the Acta Atrium Palace which commenced in 2011, has stood the test of time over a period of four consecutive years. The bond I share with the city of Barcelona is a strange yet indestructible one. It was symbolically bequeathed to me by a dear friend from Edinburgh who no longer happens to be in this world. Re-visiting this stunner of a Mediterranean metropolis, a good four years later after 2006 - and seeing it through his stilled eyes - was like experiencing a universe of emotions which nearly threatened to tear both heart and mind asunder. The tempest rages with violent passion to this day.... We human beings are such strange and complex creatures. Lifetimes come and go in simultaneous succession, yet we learn and absorb practically nothing ... to love and be loved - the psalm of 'Eternity'; of 'Timshel', in all its mystical wonder.... a 'commandment' from Divinity above, interpret it as 'empowerment' if you so desire... yet lifetimes come and lifetimes go - invariably bereft, empty, desolate and starved ... and to think we live only once - supreme irony .... In the classy district of L'Eixample; on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes boulevard ; within the expanse of the stunningly elegant Acta Atrium Palace, there exist people who endeavour and succeed in making that vital difference. Through speech, gesture, thought and spirit they personify 'Timshel' in flesh and blood..... Mercedes, Zen, David, Oscar and Sylvana to name but a few, constitute the heart and soul of this property, making 'Existence' so preciously worthwhile in the bargain for those they interact with. Sheer spontaneous goodness - the language of love, laughter, joy and smiles- which transcends the vicissitudes of alliances based on mere trade and commerce. This abstract rambling, attempts to celebrate in general terms, the spirit of such an oft-unsung workforce.

Busy noisy road outside hotel
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. They were willing to help you out. The daily cleaning of the rooms was at a high level. The location is close to shopping and going to restaurants.
The hotel is located by a school. We had a back room and it was noisy from 8 in the morning to even 23 at night due basketball games and other events. We did not rest much due to this noise as they are open play grounds and courts facing the room.
Friendly and helpful staff. Exellent location .breakfast was good value. .hotel was very quiet I had room on second floor with balcony facing main street but Windows kept out noise and i slept very well. Spa and jacuzzi were small but lovely
There is nothing to dislike about this hotel. .I would stay here again without doubt
Hotel style size of bedroom spa breakfast staff
Room although lovely was a little tired and there was a light socket hanging down in the bathroom and the door stop was broken. The room was always cleaned well, but water marks not always cleaned on bathroom floor.
A very clean, well-appointed, very centrally located Barcelona hotel. Helpful, friendly, professional staff, most spoke English. Excellent food choice at breakfast. Walking distance to nearby Placa Catalunya, also convenient for great shopping at Passeig de Gracia. Situated right on the Gran Via de Corts near all city buses, tourist buses, taxis, metro and cycles. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had a really great stay at the Acta Atrium hotel
The dinner menu was mainly the traditional Catalan cuisine which did not appeal to my personal tastes. I would like to see more fish and light salads on the menu for healthier eating.
The staff were helpful and the room was cleaned well every day. The location was reasonable although we were surprised at just how busy the road was. Previous reviews had advised that the hotel provided a free bottle of Cava but we did not receive one. Or view was of a wall and part of a roof which turned out to be the neighborhood basketball court which was extremely noisy from 8 every morning
The swimming pool was extremely small and very murky and the jacuzzi wasn't working. My main issue was the cost as when I booked the hotel I asked for a room to suit me and my husband and our 7 year old daughter. The options I was given confirmed this and we prepaid €640. When it came to check out we were advised there was an additional charge of €156 plus tax for my daughter's bed. I'm not sure if this was an error on behalf of Booking.com or the hotel but we were not rather surprised at the addition and would not have made the booking at the time had we been made aware of the additional cost which seemed disproportionate
Location and ambience of the hotel. Size of our bedroom.
No tea and coffee in bedroom. Breakfast although good had no muesli or granola. No drawer space in our room.
Service staff were wonderful! Very helpful!
Help at the desk! All staff interested and willing to go the distance! We enjoyed our stay!
Friendly and helpful Staff, Facilities, breakfast included, WiFi, location etc. Great hotel to stay for 3 nights prior to our cruise.
All day non stop activities in schoolyard behind hotel! From 7 am to almost 11 pm, constant noise from kids and young adults playing every sport imaginable!
Everything. The hotel, the location and Barcelona. Excellent.
service from staff who not welling to help for luggage when it was raining, our room aircondition is not working, and that same staff came to our room and keep saying it is working and the button of the air-con is fell off, no air coming out from the air cond. couldnt believe he can made such a lie to us and walked away from our room and banged the door hard.
Location, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable hotel, will certainly stay again when next in Barcelona
Room design and efficient team at front desk, great location and quiet at night . value for money .
The restaurant manager ( fat , glasses) there was no notification to the tables that the breakfast buffet was closing so when I went to get a coffee refill at 10:35 I was told rudely to go and get one at the coffee shop .He had only just unplugged the coffee machine !! Totally spoiled an otherwise great stay . I work in hospitality and will recommend this hotel but not for breakfast .
Good location close to main points of interest ! Nice old building with swimming pool and good restaurant!
Bad view room to the school! Always noise because of football and basketball and training in the yard! Very noisy in the room because of water. Sometimes looks like someone washing in ur room. Never take room with yard view. Bad smell in swimming pool. Please clean it.
Spa smaller then pictures Rooms very dark Slow Lifts Basement Spa
This hotel is in a wonderful neighborhood, close to a metro station, and within easy walking distance to Plaça Catalunya (airport bus) and to an abundance of great restaurants. We found the hotel staff to be wonderful! Great first impression when checking-in, wonderful service while we were there. For example, when I asked where I could obtain ice to chill a bottle of wine to have on our deck one warm evening, I was given a wine-bucket filled with ice!
Hotel is a little dated, but still very comfortable.
