the hotel is in a prime location,in cambrils, the staff were very helpful, the room was a panaramic room with views to die for. food was brilliant i would recomend it to anyone iwould give this hotel and staff 10/10
beach nearby,bus stop as well
far away from centre
Liked being able to sit were I wanted round the pool and then stepping straight into the beach for a nice swim in the sea was entertainment every night which was great as on my own with 9 year old felt safe
Room seemed abit dated and view from balcony wasn't great as at the side looking out over other apartments and sea were internal rooms view sea and pool
Everything. 15 of us in group, adults teenagers and small children, something for everyone. Staff are friendly, good entertainment, location fabulous. Great chilled out holiday thoroughly recommend.
Food was fine and pretty varied. The location is closer to Salou, but also walking distance to Cambrils. The pool was great, the beach is only five steps away from the hotel and it's a great, safe beach. I would imagine the experience would be different in July or August, but being late October it wasn't particularly busy.
Staff are typical Catalan, so don't expect any customer service. The restaurant was busy, noisy at times, but well run, I don't think we could have dined there for more than the 5 days. The walls are 'paper thin' you can hear 'everything' from the rooms either side. The entertainment starts at 22.00, again, quite Mediterranean, but finished at midnight(ish) so if you had retired before this time, you will hear everyone, coming back to their rooms. This wasn't too much of a problem, as I had read this was the case before arrival and the hotel does cater for French, Spanish, German and Russian guests over and above UK guests.
Next to the water, excellent! The food was okey, not great but absolutly okey. Overall good value for the money. Great entertainment!
Old fashion rooms
no all inclusive,
the hotel was lovely and clean , staff were friendly, plenty of food at meal times ,going there again next year.
nothing i can think off
1) Nearness to the beach - excellent location! 2) Reception - We were not able to arrive on time the day before so we called up the reception. Rosa was very accommodating in noting our late arrival. She also counseled us how to reach the place more easily. She even underlined that we can still claim the lunch meal that we missed out. The guy at the reception (sorry, we were not able to get his name) when we were leaving told us about it. Thank you for their graciousness. 3) Food was very good especially the warm meals that are cooked in situ.
1) Accessibility - The renfe in Salou is about 15-20 minutes walk from Augustus. It is almost always late and only services every 2 hours to Tarragona. 2) Dining room - When we arrived, we were so tired and hungry already because it was 2:30pm. The reception team instructed us that we can already go straight to take our lunch before the restaurant closes at 3pm. Maria Jose was so considerate as to let us leave our luggage securely near the entrance of the restaurant. However, her guy companion castigated us for that. It is good that we can speak Spanish and could reason out, aside from the help that Maria Jose gave us. We were so offended by the guy. He did not give a good impression of himself and of the hotel to valued costumers because he was more concerned with the rules than the welfare and comfort of the clients. We hope he can be a bit more relax so visitors can have a great Augustus hotel experience. It is not an excuse that they are "only" 3 stars and we had our discounted booking thru booking.com. It is not only insulting to customers but he devalues himself and the hotel. 3) Sound proofing could be made better. One could hear the conversations along the hallway and adjacent rooms. 4) The pastry doughs are okay but can be made lighter and fluffier so it would be more delicious.
Staff was very helpful, good location near a sea. Great for families. Dining is very good.
Very thin walls in rooms and in the early mornings the hotel is buzzing.
The best room yet! Overlooking the whole beach as well as swimming pool. Upgrade to bathroom and balcony good. Food good as ever, pleased they stick to Spanish food and not try to copy other European food. Lucky this visit not to have large parties of children, sometimes happens when we have been before. Good entertainment, weather hot enough for it to be outside.
Nothing! Hotel could not be in a more perfect location
Near the sea. Room with sea view . Right time of year - not too many people so the pool area was relatively free.
Don't ask for rooms at the corners of the hotel- they have miniscule balconies yet you pay the same.
The location, straight on the beach.
We stayed there for a week, with 17 months old baby and older daughter. Overall the hotel is very tired and does need a refit. The view from the window was on the main street, which was very noisy. I could hear next-door neighbors coughing or showering. Poor cleanliness in the room, cleaning stuff always came to clean the room when the baby was sleeping. Staff were rude, with poor English rolled their eyes often, The food quality was poor, many times they served re-heated food from previous day. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel a little bit appreciated as a customer.
we liked the location, the food at hotel was delicious, service great, staff friendly, entertainment was good fun, enjoyed watching the workouts every day at pool side or stage. friendly atmosphere and value for money.
for it to be so busy! and coming from belfast the heat for me was intense. so some nights found it hard to sleep.
Excellent location, very clean, helpful staff, good games room, good choice of food
Expensive drinks, no provisions for outside dining! Entertainment and evening meal start too late
Receptionist very rude, not at all welcoming, if you don't like it go somewhere else attitude when I asked about the 10 euro per day charge for parking. Bedrooms very basic & bathroom not cleaned properly also the bathroom door half stripped of paint, bad need of updating.
Rooms too small for a family
I liked my stay in augustus . The beach is cloce by and you van make trips tot other citys whith the bus. The people in the hotel are very nice hand helpfull. Hopefully we com next year again.
The food was very good and well prepared. Entertaiment also very good. Friendly staff and helpful.
the rooms and bathrooms were not clean properly during the seven days of our stay. Just to pass by.
Superb location, friendly staff. Standard of food is always high, this is our fifth visit.
Evening entertainment can be very noisy if you coincide with parties of school children, or weeks where small children go free.
Staff friendly & Efficient
The staff are great, plenty to do in this hotel and it is extremely good value for money. The entertainment is fantastic, and the hotel itself is right on the beach. There is a great variety of food and plenty of it.
big room, breakfast buffet
looked a smaller hotel than it is, as a matter of fact it was a factory; lots of kids running and shouting in the corridors, Noisy even in the rooms, could hear neighbours talking and follow conversation; staff not friendly: we asked for twin-beds, no smoking room, we got big bed and room with extreme strong smoking smell. As you can see from our previous choices of hôtels with you, this was not really our favourite
