After a very unsuccessful booking with another hotel, I decided to stay at Avenida Sofia as my friends stayed there a while ago, & the hotel looked like very good to me. Imagine my divastation, when I checked-in with my 1 yo son and all of our luggage, & realised that air-conditioning was out of order! I went to reception, & asked why they didn't warn me but they just made silly faces, & offered to open windows for me.. It was +30 outside, & I told me them I was staying only if they offer a significant discount. Which they did in a while. They offered 50% off, so I decided to stay for 1 night. Nevertheless, it was a very negative experience, & I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
The roof-top swimming pool was very cold, & at spa, where they do have a couple of warm pools, they told me it was not for under 16th.. So, if you're travelling with kids, it's not the right hotel to go to.
In-room bathroom & toilet facilities were not comfortable, too. Too chick but not convenient at all. There was also a glass wall between bathroom & the actual room so when my son was sleeping, the bathroom light disturbed him.
Windows were facing a side street, which turned to be quite busy even after 11pm. There were motorcycles, shouting teenagers, somebody even went sick downstairs..
The bed was quite comfortable but I wish it was a king size bed rather than two single beds pur aside. My son sleeps with me, & mattresses kept moving apart, which was not convenient.
Breakfast was quite good with freshly squeezed orange juice, & Nespresso machine, & some cava/rose I think but it could have more variety of dishes.
