Hotel Bagués    

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado a pocos metros estacion de metro y sobre todo muy cerca de la plaza catalunya de donde sale todos los tours y salidas a aeropuerto.

Solo un dianos pusieron agua en la habitacion.

La carta del restaurante, la ubicación, algunos toques de diseño. La actitud del personal del restaurante.

Habitaciones: incómodas y chicas. Una cartilla sobre recomendaciones de seguridad exageradas, fuera de contexto. Un hotel que se precia de tener un restaurante de CATEGORÏA y no me han sabido preparar un Martini Dry. Un restaurante ubicado en el lugar de acceso del hotel.

Interrior of the hotel was absolutely brilliant. The roof top bar was great escape awa from the busy city and Ramblas. Staff at the hotel was very helpful and always smiling. Especially the door men at the entrance was lots of fun! I will definitely stay there again.

A friendly and servile staff and atmosphere. Small subtle things like candy cans at the entrance. A marvellous roof-terrace. A bit small though beautifully and well-designed rooms.

People who spent their time in the narrow corridors.

Location was great. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The rooms were comfortable and surprisingly quiet given location/hotel layout. The breakfast spread was impressive. As a boutique hotel its probably not ideal for a young family, but I found the stay very comfortable with my 1yr and 3yr in tow!

We had an issue with the milk in that I think my baby was sick as a result of drinking milk that had not been properly stored. Also, I found the food generally average in quality, but very expensive.

The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help. They were very curtious and professional. Breakfast and everything around it was very nice, the breakfast staff were excellent. The room was very nice!

We, my son and I, found this hotel to be very high standard, especially since we had a great deal on the price. Staff was friendly and the rooms, although small, very comfortable. Pitty the weather prefented us from enjoing the roof-terras. We were in Barcelona for the Barca match and the hotel really contributed to the success of our stay. Henk-Jan Cremer

Quality of hotel, facilities and very friendly, helpful staff. The location was perfect for walking, touring Barcelona and reaching the cruise terminal.

Wi-fi signal was very weak, unable to download emails. The computer was in a dark little corner which made it difficult to see the keyboard etc.

The staff was SO helpful and friendly. And the hotel was beautiful. I loved the art deco design.

Location was pretty good, though very touristy area. The staircase and elevators had a very interesting design.

Understaffed, and the staff that was there seemed like nice college students with no real experience. At a five star hotel I would expect excellent, professional service, however the staff did not come close. One night, for example, they told us we had a table at a restaurant and we walked 20 minutes in the rain to get there and the hostess told us there was no chance and that they had been fully booked for weeks. Also at the beginning of our stay we gave a list of about 20 restaurants that we were interested in for booking reservations for dinner for our 4 night stay. They would never follow up with us, but when we checked in with them on the status, they said that all were fully booked for all 4 nights (this was in October)- however one night we walked by one of the restaurants that they said was fully booked and they had plenty of tables available. Also, our list included many Michelin starred and other highly reviewed restaurants and they had never heard of most of them. It just seemed like they really had no idea of what a concierge should know at a 5* hotel. There were many other issues, but the restaurant booking experiences were illustrative of the general lack of professional service.

The location was great - in the middle of the bustle of the city. The staff were very tentative, friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were attractively decorated, and we had a Juliet balcony view over La Rambles.

Two minor suggestions - the doors to the rooms are very heavy and when your neighbours come and go the doors slam, which is very noisy and often woke us up. The bathroom has a door into it, and then another door into the toilet - the bathroom door appears to hang the wrong way (opens to the right), therefore in the middle of the night, in the dark we found it difficult to get to the toilet without bumping into everything, due to the first bathroom door (as once in the bathroom we had to close it to get into the toilet). The problem could be solved by hanging it - so it opens to the left.

We had previously read that the hotel staff were expectional, which turned out to be true. They were there if you needed them and knew when to leave you be to enjoy your holiday/City break. Particular mention to the staff in El Regulador Restaurant within the hotel (Tony & Carlos) who made our dining experience simply perfect. The restaurant were able to cater for my food allergy and adapt the menu. Dont confuse 5* with bigger hotels, Bagues Hotel is boutque so dont be disappointed in the room size as decor, lighting, furnishings all live up to the 5* standard. Excellent location for cultural and shopping areas (close to all landmarks).

The hotel was fabulous with excellent furnishings and wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. The location is also excellent so all in all a great place.

- We were given a room with no external window. This ment the room was eternally dark with no natural day light. Given many rooms obviously have external windows it would be nice to know at the time of booking that was to be our room type and therefore have the option of upgrading if need be. The room description states "Many rooms also have views of La Rambla." This implies some rooms will not be overlooking La Rambla not that they will have no external window at all! - The room pricing is complicated. I needed to change our booking by one day and this increased the rate by EUR117.71! Would be easier to see a breakdown of room costs as might influence nights stay there.

Great Staff,very friendly at all times,most informative and professional, and wonderful to see how young they all were!! Gave us a great Welcome,as well as advice on safety suggestions (not offered at our previous hotel 1989)...arranged tickets for concerts...Just Great. The location was fantastic, on Las Rambla, on the same block as the fantastic market,with Starbucks and other cafes so close as well as a Supermarket nearby. Altogether, very happy with the stay and would stay there again!

A slightly less expensive breakfast would have had us try it.

Both our rooms had virtually no natural light as the window gave a view of a central well.The rooms were however very quiet in a very busy area.On balance I do not consider it to be good value for money but it is well run and comfortable.
