Hotel Balcon de Competa  

The hotel staff were always polite, friendly and always willing to help!

There were kids in our party and the hotel appeared reluctant to open the pool, which is a must for us! The hotel did open it after three days though. Room 111 is a lower standard room to others, I was first in our party to book and was given this room, late bookers got a better room!

The staff were excellent: going out of their way to ensure our needs were met. Our room wasn't quite ready -- so they invited us to a welcome drink on the terrace while we waited. And then up-graded us for waiting! They parked our car for us, so we did not need to negotiate the narrow streets ourselves. They even cooked for us "out of hours". Lovely staff.

I cannot blame the hotel for the weather. What I can do is to praise the staff for making us comfortable!!

Competa is one of Andalucia's prettiest 'white villages' despite rather too much recent development. It is splendidly located and the Hotel Balcon has probably the best view in it. Service is welcoming and good, and the food is excellent, and you can combine all these things by eating on the terrace. Pricing is reasonable. There is a pool - not large, but worthwhile - and facilities include a tennis court. There is some sensational walking nearby and the hotel and local tourist office can help with this.

The mattresses in the bungalow we stayed in were pretty uncomfortable.

Really friendly staff at this family run hotel. Still Spanish - lots of real locals use it- despite Competa having a significant ex pat population. Good pool, views to die for from rooms and dining terraces with good cooking/drinks etc. Good mixture of clients including walkers. Plenty of bars/restaurants around if one is inclined to go out.

Fabulous view, great pool, friendly helpful staff, and a great location in a typical Spanish village.

Lovely relaxing Sanish hotel in a beautiful village. Some excellent local food options

No pool towels or drinks service. Had to go to the main bar for a coffee which was 4 flights of stairs

Grand view. Situated in a very nice vilage with plenty of hiking opportunities i mountanous surroundings. Very service oriented staff.

Friendliness of the staff. Location - lots of shops, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Great views from our room and excellent value for money.

Me ha gustado mucho el Hotel Balcon de Competa pues nuestra estancia alli ha sido muy confortable , nos han tratado fenomenal, nos hemos sentido como parte de una familia.Los bungalog son pequeños pero suficientes para estar en familia, pues tienen buenos exteriores , pista de tenis muy proxima, piscina , zona de juegos para los niños alrededor de los bungalog. Muy accesible a caminos para hacer senderismo y muy comodo el acceso al centro del pueblo, con cuestas , pero buscandole el truco tanto el pueblo como el hotel, y sobre todo , el hotel pueden hacer de tu fin de semana un fin de semana comodo y sin complicaciones con tus hijos.

Har likt dette hotellet fra første gang vi besøkte det. Alltid følt oss velkomne, og har allltid blitt tatt godt vare på. De ansatte viser stor serviceinnstilling, og har alltid gitt oss et godt smil! Kort sagt - det er et hotell med hjertevarme!!!

Nous avons quitté l'hôtel à 6h30 car nous devions nous rendre à l'aéroport. L'hôtel n'a pas proposé de petit déjeuner alors que celui ci était facturé et payé.

Fantastich hotel... goed ontbijt.. prettige sfeer.. heerlijke restaurantjes in de buurt. Goede taxiservice!!
