The hotel room was large and clean.

The hotel claims to provide free internet access, however, when you arrive there they tell you that you are only allowed one hour per day (and you have to use it at one shot, not in several times). If you want more you have to pay for it. I think this is a bit misleading and not sincere from the part of the hotel. At our arrival, we were offered to take the breakfast for 7 euros instead of 14, we took it, but were disappointed with what was offered. My advice is to skip the breakfast, for 7 euros, you can do much better in barcelona. The staff was a bit rude and unwelcoming. The offered services do not reflect a 3 star hotel.

Small nice hotel in good area, with a lot of famous restorants close to the hotel. Rooms are not big, but comfortable.

Staff made you very welcome at all times. Room was comfortable and clean. Location excellent for sightseeing and transport links.

The size of the room we were first put in was tiny, without any windows. We asked to change rooms as it was very claustrophobic, it had the feel of a cellar and was underground with only a stained glass panel. (Which was locked) to let any light in. However upon speaking to the concierge we were immediately moved,

Hotel room is cozy. Staffs are very accomodating and helpful. Free use of pc with internet connection in the hotel lobby is a plus. Enjoyed my stay.

The location of the hotel is a bit far from the center of attractions of the city of Barcelona. Though in a way this is good for you if you're fond of walking around.

Great location, smack bang in the middle of everything we wanted to do. We walked everywhere from the hotel, down to the port or up to the Gaudi Park Guell.

Can't complain.

We've stayed at Hotel Balmes a number of times in different rooms. Some are fantastic, some ordinary--but the hotel has a wonderful "feel" to it. The lobby is filled with stunning African art; the breakfast room has lovely design touches, as do some of the more upscale rooms. Best of all is the hidden garden and pool. Mature trees shade pool-side tables. Ask for a room with a view of the garden--such a surprise in the midst of urban Barcelona! Very peaceful. And the staff is excellent!

Some of the rooms are not as nice as others. SO if you are not happy, ask for a different room.

We've stayed there four or five times--twice in the gorgeous apartments, the other times in the hotel itself. Love the interior pool and garden space--even in winter, sitting out under the huge trees is a serene place to be, in the midst of the busy city. Great location, ample breakfast, very helpful staff. Our room was lovely--including a sofa, space for an extra table and chairs, a view of the interior garden. Modern decor.

Reasonable, Good location with very good tapas bars just two blocks away. Easy assess to buses to and from the airport, good location for shopping and sight seeing. I would recommend this hotel

Small room

Very wecloming hotel which is idealy situated for walking around the main parts of the city and handy for the Metro. For a city hotel I found the rooms well insulated against sounds from outside and other rooms
