I absolutely loved the Attic suite that I stayed in . Especially as it had an upstairs.
No lift to help with luggage. This needs to be improved upon.
Free water and an amazing location
No kettle with tea making facilities in the room
2nd visit to the Banys and another excellent stay...Great location for strolling to all the main sights and plenty going on around the hotel also..
The breakfast was mediocre -a cold buffet basically. There was no way i was going to make my own orange juice by slicing oranges etc with a hangover as i could have caused myself a serious injury.....
-separate building from main hotel for our suite-made it feel like it was our home for 4 days, not just a hotel with other tourists -giant bed, hardwood floors, stone tile shower, lots of space -free water in the mini-fridge. A small thing, but since water costs as much as beer, it was nice to have a ready supply
-they could only give us one key for outside door. Made it hard to coordinate with 2 people if we ever went separate ways
Convenience Free water (and apples)
Everything - breakfast was exceptional
Historic yet modern
Great location, great staff.
Air conditioning didn't work. It was particularly hot when I was there this week. I mentioned it a couple of times. It wasn't till I mentioned it to housekeeping they seemed to fix it somehow as I was leaving.
We used to live in Barcelona, so we know the area and we love it! It's great for wondering around the city and walking the old part. This time we came for a wedding that was being held near the hotel. So, it was great for us.
Great location! Easy access to metro Free bottled water in the common fridges at the lift landing
Great location, with lots to see in the neighbourhood, easy access to the metro. Free bottled water in the common fridges at the lift landing
The single room was very small
Room was very nice, and we really like this area of Barcelona. Staff were very nice.
Was a bit noisy... mostly street noise but in saying that I have stayed in many different hotels in Barcelona and all of them have been somewhat noisy. The sheets has a couple holes in them...
The room The location The bike parking The breakfast The free water
A bit too noisy at night ( people banging doors and walking on high heels without consideration for people asleep - at 5 in the morning!) Too cold in the room ( no airco on)
Great experience. Our unit was clean and maintained daily by staff. The location was excellent. No issues! It was an above average facility and unusually large for European accomodations. Check-in and check-out procedures were flawless.
Big shower with a window Big bed
Outside noises Small room Bed not comfortable
Excellent location to get around the city and right near to an underground stop making it even easier to get to places. Good value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Hot water is a bit temperamental so you have to time your shower wisely!
We like Banys and have stayed there before. We noticed the rooms are getting a bit worn with the use over the years and could use some work to bring them back to better condition.
They could not find the reservation. The room they gave us was a 5 floor walk up. Mrs Gorh just had a hip replacement. I had specifically asked after making my reservation that they had an elevator. Turns out they do in the main building but not in the one they put us. Very very poor treatment. I certainly won't be using this service again but at least you asked.
Hospitality was great. Suite was generous size. Love the supply of water and apples. Lovely old building.
The lift broke down and we had to drag luggage down stairs. The reception area is tight and small, hard to manage when lots of people waiting to be served. Room lighting is dark.
Rooms beautiful. Location great
Restaurant very disappointing
The hotel is in a great location with an elegant restaurant and bar at the floor level. Shopping, restaurants and sites are within walking distance. Even with the issues that weren't particularly pleasant, we would stay here again.
All of the staff we encountered had a bit of an attitude as though we were a bother to them when we asked for dining recommendations or directions. They weren't particularly friendly and rarely smiled. The room was adequate, clean, and we appreciated the free bottles of water, especially when drinking from the tap was discouraged. The bathroom was dark, so we appreciated the lit magnifying makeup mirror. There was also a heavy door to the bathroom that squeaked and made the darkness feel even darker so we propped the door open with a chair.
Position, room design, restaurant
No coffee tea facilities in the room
The location for ease of access to metro and within walking distance of the harbour/Marina and many resteraunts
The noise at night from the street below especially Thursday night when they seemed to be collecting the rubbish and cleaning all night long. Also, although the rooms were comfortable and clean, the dark interior decoration coupled with low lighting made the room somewhat gloomy.
The hotel was in the Gothic quarter and within walking distance of the underground railway, and was well placed for sightseeing and Las Ramblas was only 10 minutes walking distance away. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The coffee machine at breakfast was not very good and the instructions on how to use it were not clear. The croissants were not as fresh as they should have been.
- free bottles of water - big beds, clean white sheets - toilet separate from bathroom
- super dim lighting in room - suites in a separate building than hotel
