Hotel Center Gran Via    

Location was really convenient for access to and from airport and for walking to major sites. We felt very comfortable there. Room was very quiet and even had a nice patio we would have used if the weather had cooperated. Helpful desk person - when she/he was there.

Had to contact hotel from airport when we arrived as there is no reliable full time desk coverage.

The staff here are very nice and helpful. They are all speak good English.

What's NOT to like? The staff and location are excellent - central to all, steps away from both the Metro and the Aerobus stop. Mostly though, we were treated like part of a family with cava on arrival and a beautiful little terrace/patio with lush plantlife and a little table to enjoy life and soak up Bacelona. We will stay at the Hotel Center Gran Via in the future even if we can afford much "nicer" hotels!

Like I said, you're part of a family at this hotel so if you don't like listening to your fellow "family-members" come home from a night on the town at 4-6 am, this might not be the place for you. But, if you can put up with a little noise in the early AM before everyone gets to their room and gets their heads down - it's the BEST!

Excellent value!

The location was perfect, in less then 5 minutes you are on the ramblas and shopping area. The room was clean and good. Bathroom was also good.

All rooms beautifully refurbished, quiet and extremely comfortable.

Though there was a small mirror in the well-equipped bathroom, there was none in the bedroom. Also no tea-making facility, except in the general reception area. However these are tiny criticisms about a beautifully run hotel.

The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The room was a good size and the balcony was amazing!!

We could hear the noise in other rooms. The walls were not very good safe guarding us from the noise.

Beautiful traditional building with nice balcony'S. On the street side, nice rooms with very large windows. Despite busy street not bothered by noise in the room. Quiet, spacious, clean hotel. Nice new bathroom. Number of additional free amenities in the hotel (computer, fridge and coffee/tea maker). Close to many attractions. Enthusiastic and friendly staff. Elvira, the hotel manager, speaks very good English and is very helpful.

Due to the high ceilings (4 meters high) and the beautiful traditional tiled floor the shifting of furniture from the neighbors resounds in the room. This disturbs the peace in the morning.

Hotel is on a perfect location, stuff is helpfull and everything is very clean. Furniture is new.

We got room with almost no natural light, so in the morning you can't tell is it day or night. If the room is looking outside, to the street, I belive you'll get great value for money.

It's cosy and quiet, perfect for relaxing after work or doing tourism.

Location is good. One block from Aerobus stop. Easy walk to Las Ramblas. Staff welcoming. Room clean. Good hot shower. Price good for a very popular city.

Be warned - you do get what you pay for. In my case it was a single room where to be polite everything was certainly within easy reach. The hostal is a single floor of a larger residential building. And some of the residents are not quiet. No kettle in room. There is access to a communal fridge. But I was not in Barcelona to stay in the hotel. This was a bed in a decent and safe location.

Good things first. Great location, handy to everywhere, metro stops and Aerobus stops also close by, Clean room with a great bathroom and enormous shower. The hotel is the first floor of an apartment building and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was small but that wasn't so bad. It had a door onto a 'balcony', a small tiled area at the bottom of a gloomy, airless light well that the other apartments above opened on to. This light well frequently smelled of old drains. As the air con wasn't working properly, I had the choice of shutting the door and trying to sleep in a stifling hot room, or opening the door and putting up with the smell.

The beginning was quite surprising: the "reception desk" was managed by a little latin girl, encharged of cleaning up the rooms! Later on the attention got increasingly better and finished in a really good turist assistance . The "hotel" has a good location near the university. The rooms are clean. WI-Fi available. Apparently th rooms were adapted from a middel-class-resindence of 1900 to modern hotel-rooms wich cumplish the normal necessities. The street -noise did'nt affect us, because of the buffer -effect which cumplish the wooden window-wings.

If you'll arrive at Saturday ore Sunday by plane, ou are obliged to call them from airport to anounce the exact arriving time because there is no habitual reception service, The external aspect and the hostel's entrance is a little bit ugly. You have to use an old elevator to reach the entrance door in the first floor. It isn't a hotel but a "hostal", because there are no facilities for eat or any breakfast - service.

The staff where very friendly and helpful and this was excellent. On the downside the room was to small however it did serve it purpose.

Posizione ottima, camere pulite e cortesia dello staff. Qualità prezzo eccezionale. Quando tornerò a Barcellona sicuramente soggiornerò di nuovo al Gran Via.

Un pò rumoroso ma se vi premunite di tappi nessun problema.
