Location is fantastic! Very central so all the sights but that is about it. You could definitely find a better hotel or just make sure you don't stay on the 1st floor and you might have a better experience than us! Do not stay in room 104!! We were right near the cleaning maids room!!! The walls are so thin we were woken by banging and noise every single morning! Wi fi was terrible, yes it's free but it didn't work in our room at all. We had to sit in the lounge near reception to be able to use wi fi. The bed linen was quite dated, I noticed a couple worn holes in our sheets. Breakfast was not included in our stay and was 18 euro per person so we didn't bother.

Location - right in the city. Worst hotel ever. Terrible and unfriendly service. I travel a lot around Europe, Asia and South America. This hotel won my gold medal of worst ever worldwide.

We only had one night in this hotel and then moved to a 5 star in the Port Olympic area. The location of the Colonial hotel was fantastic. Across the street is a fantastic local area full of interesting resteraunts and bars. It is s short walk from the Colonial hotel to the cathederal, the Ramblas, barcelonata etc. We would highly recommend the hotel and will definitely stay at this hotel when we are back in Barcelona again. Although we moved to the Port Olympic area we returned to the area opposite the Colonial Hotel most nights for dinner as there was such a nice atmosphere in this area and it was less touristy than the Port Olympic area. If you are visiting the city for the first time you will not be disappointed with this hotel or the area - it is a great base! Thank you for a great room we will ask for the same room next time we are back. Nothing - Liked everything.

Great location in the heart of Barcelona, one block from the marina and two blocks from La Rambla. The guest computer in the lobby wasn't working but staff guided me to an internet cafe close by.

Excellent location - easy walk to Metro, Tourist Bus, Barcelonetta & coast, Gothic Quarter, indeed La Ramblas. Stylish and also value-for-money (January). (They *do* supply hairdryer & shower-gel. Some people must not have found - they are in the bathroom drawer which is very discrete !). Maybe noisy - but we slept well ;) Room not huge - but not an issue. Breakfast expensive - so we went to a nearby cafe, of which there are several.

The location was excellent for us. I had understood that the rooms had soundproofing. The last night was a nightmare because the couple behind the wall spoke very loudly and shouted and had shower at 2:00AM.We could not sleep at all.

I made a mistake during the booking and it was booked twice and the hotel and booking.com were so kind as to rectify the mistake,so everything was ok. Many thanks for making the stay enjoyable. Internet should have been included in the room rates as nowadays it is more important than having other facilities like more tv channels etc. Also using the safe should be free.

Location to all the excellent restaurants. 1. No free internet which makes it difficult and an added expense. The router is always on so it should be available. 2. We (my husband and I) we put in two single beds after I specifically requested double/ or twin. 3. not as palatial as other 4 star hotels

The location was very convenient. There was so much myself and husband were disappointed with in this hotel. There was no atmosphere or ambiance. The staff were neither friendly or even interested looking! The room we got was very very small,no comfort or breathing room. We were placed right beside the luggage drop off point,so day and night people were coming and going with bags,it was horrible, and such a let down!

Easy to find. Perfect location for exploring the old city. Across the road the side streets had lots of good value restaraunts. Good Irish Bar close by. The lighting in our room was really poor. Even if all the lamps worked in the bathroom my wife could not have applied make-up there. There is no plug for the very modern sink which made a good old fashioned wet shave impossible. It did look lovely though.

the location was great, very central to Las ramblas, the harbour and the beach were all within a 10 minute stroll the shower leaked all over the bathroom every time we used it and there was no way of getting rid of the water until room service came, which could be as late as 4 in the afternoon. We were also sold the room with tea & coffee making facilities of which, there were none. The only way to get refreshments were from the vending machines in the lift area which were extremely expensive.

The hotel facade was of a classic design but inside was a completely remodeled and modern hotel. The rooms where comfortable and the shower was amazing. Also the room had a mini fridge so that you could add in your own drinks. The hotel didnt have free wifi - you had to pay 2 Euro's an hour which is high and the rooms didnt have tea & coffee facilities but having known that prior i bought my own. The breakfast was very expensive and wasnt a full buffet with hot foods.

Fantastic location and very helpful front desk. Room was very pleasant. In the 21st Century any hotel with pretensions of being three star or four star or five star MUST have free internet/wifi. The service offered at the BHC was deplorable and you had to pay for it! No drawers or places to store clothes and no shelves in the bathroom on which to place a shaving kit or any of the stuff that women travel with. We were served wine at the bar from a bottle that had been open for about a week--it should have been poured out and not served. No recourse. VERY bad impression. Never set foot in the bar again.

The interior is really engaging. Personnel is helpful and smiley. Breakfast is always the same but wide range of selected good quality food, really tasty. Bed and bedroom is confortable and nicely designed. Most of the rooms have balcony with chairs and air conditioner. However the street is very noisy, the balcony door is soundproof. I would not expect the following from a **** Hotel: Smell of canal frequently in the room coming from the toilet. Shower head could not be properly fixed in bathroom. Reading lamp next to the bed usually flickered. Free internet usage is not included in the room price, but need to be paid for per hour.

The room was very clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The bath was roomy, clean, and modern. You may read that the underground noises are disturbing (as the hotel is over a track), but though we heard some occasionally when we were awake, they didn't bother us at all. Street noise was somewhat of an issue. The hotel charges 2 euro an hour for wifi, and you have to use it in the lobby. For us, this is a significant enough drawback that we probably would not stay there again, but would look at the hundreds of other nearby hotels for one that is similar but offers free or at least in-room wifi.

I like it very much especially our own rooftop, because we could have a spontaneous smoke. Beautiful parasol too! It was very clean on the balcony, no sign of birds excrements. Beautiful interior design of the room. Very small LCD screen for TV and just one english speaking channel. No free wifi in room! BAD how difficult is it to include it in the room price?

Good location Walls are paper tin. Could hear everything outside rooms and in next rooms. Didn't have breakfast there (far too expensive). Poor items in bathroom. Only a few tiny sachets of shampoo. Look for more in a 4 star hotel.

It reminded us of South Beach, Florida. The bathroom was very modern. Great shower! The location was perfect. Very nice hotel. The only negative is that the Metro shakes the building when it passes through.
