Hotelli 1898 sijaitsee Las Ramblas -kadun varrella Barcelonan ytimessä ja se on saanut nimensä vuodesta, jolloin viimeiset espanjalaiset siirtokunnat, Kuuba ja Filippiinit, saivat itsenäisyytensä.

Ravintolassa on intiimi ja elegantti ateriointialue, moitteeton palvelu ja ylellinen viinilista. Tämä kokemus Hotel 1898 -hotellissa on siis lähes yhtä hyvä kuin ravintolan erinomainen ruokalistakin, jonka on luonut kokki Carles Boronat.
Näissä hienoissa ruuissa välimerellinen tyyli on yhdistetty hienostuneisiin, eksoottisiin ja aina tuoreisiin aineksiin, joissa perinteisiin annoksiin sulautuu moderneja makuja.
Nauti tunnelmallisesta La Ramblasta, käy La Boquerían ruokatorilla ja käyskentele vertauskuvalliselle Plaça Catalunya -aukiolle.
Kadun toisella puolella odottavat Goottilaiskorttelin kapeat ostoskujat ja Barcelonan katedraali. Voit myös kävellä kiehtoville kohteille, kuten Palau de la Música -musiikkitalolle, La Pedreralle ja Casa Battlólle, satamaan ja Montjuïc-kukkulalle. Vain 10 minuutin kävelymatkan säteellä hotellilta on useita taidemuseoita, kuten Picasso-museo, nykytaiteen museo MACBA ja kulttuurikeskus CCCB.

Ihana valoisa huone, ihana näkymä ja pieni ranskalainen parveke Ramblasille , jonka kuhinaa oli kiva seurata (jos olet herkkäuninen toivo huone sisäpihalle tai sivukadulle, minua ei pienet taustaäänet häirinneet) . Ihana aamiainen, kannattaa kokea ainakin yhtenä aamuna. Sijainti erinomainen - goottinen kaupunginosa vain mutaman askeleen päässä. Hotellissa ihana kattoterassi ja lämmitetty uima-allas upein näkymin. Kellarissa mini spa ja saunat kuuluvat myös huonehintaan. Tapakset hotellin ravintolassa hintalaatusuhteeltaan ei hyviä verrattuna lähistöravintoloiden tarjontaan. |

The Hotel exceded our expectations in every way. The staff was excellent, the room lacked nothing and the location could not be better. The roof deck was great as was the pool on the roof.We were extremely impressed with the Hotel. |

Very accomodating & efficient staff. Very comfortable rooms with all facilities. Would certainly use the Hotel again as it is ideally situated for a city break. Although the address is on The Rambla the main door through which luggage will pass is on a side street and the Hotel is not very well signed, so difficult to find. |

Lovely hotel. Impecably designed. Excellent location right on the Ramblas next to Plaza Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. Unique rooftop with swimming pool and bar/restaurant with wonderful view of Barcelona's rooftops, groovy music, perfect for end of the day drink and tapas or even dinner. Loved every minute of our stay. |

It's on the Rambla, but rooms are quiet. The wonderful terrace with swimming pool and bar is a MUST for relax and elegance. Wonderful views on Barcelloa roofs and skyline. The breakfast is really fantastic, though overpriced sice Booking.com doesn't offer B&B in this hotl, but this in Spain is often the case. Romms are well equpped, but a bit too small (excluding the 2-3 suites) and not well sound-proofs. And this is a problem in Barvcellona when a lot come for partying and come back in the middle of the night noisy, loud-speeaking, drunken and slam their doors..... |

A perfection at every level, even the quality of ambiant music. Elegant and wonderful design. Huge photographies mixed with black and white stripes on the walls with black and white marble on the floor. A charming undergroud swimming pool. Exellent services from the helpful and nice hotel staff. |

This hotel has a lot of charm and is conveniently located. It is well appointed and the amenities are high quality. We really enjoyed the stay. Tea and coffee making facilities, good air con, great bed and pillows. Perhaps a little noisy (you hear people passing the room) but it wasn´t too bad. |

I liked the location and the tranquility within the hotel I thought the spa was understaffed and its pool was not totally safe. I also felt that the breakfast was very overoriced for those that only want a coffee, juice and a croissant. |

Excellent location, at the top of La Rambla, but not noisy at all. Very comfortable room and beds. Lovely Roof top terrace and pool. Helpful polite staff. Pricey but worth it. Hotel said complimentary Tea and Coffee but milk was not stocked up and we had to ask for some which took over 24 hours to arrive. The following morning milk had not been stocked up again. |

Were in a deluxe suite (526) with a deck and it was very comfortable. Beautifully decorated. Excellent amenities. Super location. Very quiet. Bathroom is 'compact' but serviceable. |

Nicely decorated. Right in the middle of the action yet when you step inside there is calm. Spa area is nice. Breakfasts were good. The "superior" room felt "standard" - not particularly big or special. Expect a nice room but not spectacular when you book a superior room at this hotel. It seems you'd have to book a suite to get anything that seems a "step above". |

What didn't I like? Roofside pool with a view over the city, wonderful restaurants, beautiful rooms, great staff, great spa, central to great shopping and the old town. Nothing! It was the most perfect place I have every stayed! |
