Hotel 1898  

Fantastyczny hotel w centrum miasta kilka kroków od La Rambli i Placu Catalunya, bardzo profesjonalna obsługa. Basen na dachu robi wrażenie.Idealny hotel na weekend i zwiedzanie miasta.

Wyposażenie I design hotelu jest ok. Położenie na środku Rambla. Personel dobrej klasy. Equipment and design of hotel is ok. Location in the middle of rambla. Staff high class.

Wszystkie pokoje po ok 200 Euro mają okna, lecz widok to ściana w odległości ok 1,5 m od okna.Opisywany cichy "dziedziniec" to wywietrznik dla restauracji. śNiadanie za 21,5 Euro to kpina, generalnie hotel nie warty ceny. Teraz po pobycie w Barcelonie na pewno wziąłbym hotel w innej lokalizacji - w centrum, ale z widokiem I za mniejsze pieniądze. All rooms twin classic against 200euro/night has windows, but view it is a wall 1,5m from window. Classic rooms are set around the hotel’s peaceful inner courtyard with ventillation of the restaurant. Breakfast for 21,5 euro/person it is a mockery, generally price of stay in this hotel has not value. Now , after my first stay in barcelona, I will take another localisation - in downtown, but with view and real price.

At the moment we walked through the doors, we were impressed. The decor was fabulous and very spacious. Several sitting areas for different conversations. The front desk was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. The bell man that took up out luggage was very friendly also, and told us all about what the room supplied. The room itself was absolutely fabulous!!! Very spacious and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, and the room was dark and so quiet. The shower was great and the towels soft and huge. The lobby bar was quite nice also. Very helpful staff and friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend Hotel 1898. We would absolutely stay there again!!! Loved the experience!!!!

The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, especially in the public areas, it is in a fantastic location, with all the main attractions of Barcelona within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and I especially liked that we could control the heating in the room. The spa area indoors is well worth a visit, very relaxed and private. Generally, the hotel is well run and the staff are all very helpful yet unobtrusive. Much preferred it to the Arts and Claris Hotels which I stayed in earlier in the year.

We paid way over the odds for our 'delux' room, which although very comfortable was also very small. When I enquired about this I was told that the rooms which are actually a grade below - the 'privilege' rooms are actually bigger! However, we wanted a room with a terrace and therefore paid for the delux room. The bathroom was tiny, with a shower over the bath and the water pressure was not strong at all. Another issue which would be easily remedied was that there was one english T.V. channel - the news, I would expect that in this day and age to have a bit more choice, as there are for German and French speaking guests. The cost of food and beverages in the hotel are ridiculously high, bit of bad business sense really as guests would spend more if they lowered their prices to within normal levels, as the choice of restaurants and cafes nearby make it easy to opt for the cheaper option!

Breakfast should be included in the room price. 23 euro per person for breakfast is excessive.

The hotel is beautifully appointed. The staff was extremely well trained and helpful. The room was very well thought out and luxurious. Perfect, really. The roof deck, pools, and exercise facilities are superb. The location on the Rambla has its positives and negatives- on the positive side, it's very close to most of the major attractions in Barcelona-- the Gothic Quarter, Born, and shopping. Also, it's a short run down the Ramblas (in the morning, before the crowds arrive) to the waterfront, where one can run along the beach for several miles. Subway lines are very close by.

If you aren't okay with being on one of the busiest streets in Europe... The crowds, noise and hustle and bustle-- it's like staying in Times Square in nyc-- then I would recommend staying at a different hotel. We did not find the street noise a problem, as the hotel is very well insulated. For us, sometimes schlepping through the slow moving horde of people on the Rambla was an inconvenience. Although we did not have any problems, the Rambla is notorious for pick pockets and other street hustlers and one has to be alert at all times and protect your valuables and personal space.

Our room was spotlessly clean with a most luxurious bathroom. It overlooked the couryard and was very quiet. The roof terrace was amazing and all the staff were so helpful and friendly - a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We felt the price of the breakfast was expensive - we didn't eat in the hotel.

I thought a lot what to write & how to describe this specific hotel - well I can say after a lot of hotels in a lot of places in the level of 5 stars deluxe - and h1898 is the best hotel I ever stayed in ! its luxurious The Stuff are super proffessional & efficient Thay clean the rooms twice a day !! thay have 2 superb & clean Pools - & it is center of the center ! finally I can say - thanks - oct.2011 - Dr Muller Eitan & Gabriella

This hotel was exceptional. Rooftop pool and bar was fun and what a view. The spa was nice and the location is the best in Barcelona. Very easy access by bus from the airport, right on the Rambala, and next to a Starbucks. It was super clean and quiet. The staff was great too, we had a King room with incredible linens. It was a little pricey but well worth it.

Hotel 1898 is in a fantastic location and the decor is really great. The beds extremely comfortable and rooms are quiet if you are not on the street - can't hear a thing! I love the fact that the beds are turned down in the evening, wet towels replaced etc etc. Really fantastic hotel!

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as it is far too expensive - there are some great cafes just around the back off La Rambla. The internet is annoying in that you have to log on very often - great that it is free though!

A wonderful hotel to stay for a city visit or honey moon ;-). Lots of nice places to visit walking. Room service twice a day, highly engaged personal, highly recommendable, very good service, wonderful roof terrace with great view and excellent drinks. The asian restaurant next door is one of the best in town.

ask for a room in the upper floors, the metro (underfloor) in the street can be heard, a church is next door and you´ll hear the bells.

Exceptional staff. Wonderful foyer and bar area. Very easy to be there as solo woman.
