Hotel Icaria Barcelona  

Great location:only 2 blocks to the beach, 6 blocks to the Metro. Bus right ourside hotel, Nice and Quiet. staff was friendly.

Both the pool and the jaccusi were closed and that was not stated on the site. Would have been nice to know before we got there so we didn't pack our swim suits for nothing... (especailly with the weight restrictions on the airlines now.)

The room was clean and clean towels every morning. The location for port olympic is excellent. the breakfast is really good. The pool is lovely. it is reasonable and compitively priced. the bus touristic stop is around the corner and is very handy. There is a bus outside the door that goes to town number 41 and it's 11 stops to playca catuluna(centre of city and start of ramblas.

the air conditioning was a bit tempermental

We chose this hotel as it has decent size of swimming pool coparing other hotles which has small rooftop swimming pool. My 5 years old girl loved pool side and had good fun. Beach is only 5 min. Distance but we only went for walk evening time as it was too busy with many people during the day time. I found location of this hotel is very convenient. City center, big shopping area(Glories), beach is easy to aceess.

We had a wonderful, spacious room with a big bathroom and a huge private balcony! Room was clean and well equipped and the hotel crew fulfilled our wish about a quiet room towards the courtyard. Receptionist was friendly and spoke good english. There were excellent bus connections to the center from the hotel, and you could walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. I would say Hotel Icaria Barcelona is worth it's 4 stars.

The air conditioning didn't work in our room and they didn't come to fix it even though we mentioned about it the beginning of our stay. The room got too hot during the day so we had to keep the balcony door open all night, which wouldn't have been a problem if there weren't so many noisy gulls around the hotel. Towards the end of our stay the room cleaning got worse, e.g. our friends had to go to the reception and ask for more toilet paper.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The location is superb with easy access to most important tourists attractions within the city, and in a nice and safe neighbourhood. It' s less than 3mins walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk to the marina,

Good and friendly staff. Breakfast is okay.

The air conditioning haven't been working at all during the all stay. Wi-Fi in the room had a very low signal level (three mobile phones and two notebooks always lose its connection). The light switch panels didn't work as described in a tutorial. Very hard to understand how to switch the lights.

Mostly very good and the location was convenient for the beach

Twin room was a bit too small and the internet connection was sometimes unreliable for using own computer. If we had booked direct we would have been given Free parking and a room upgrade !

Good location. Next to a bus stop. Staff very accomodating. Eg. My husband was not feeling well so they gave us a room several hoirs prior to check in time.

Energy saving light/power system was a good idea but difficult to use.

Piano bar not there as advetised. Food and choices very limited. Room very stark

Great hotel, great. Location for the beach and many restaurants, metro station and supermarket are a short walk away. Also ideal for the tourist bus- if you buy your ticket from the hotel you get a discount.

if you can, bring your own towel to use outside by the pool., there's a €3 charge to use one.

Walk to beach, pillows, option of breakfast, pool and jacuzzi very accessible, front of desk staff very friendly and efficient, power shower...

Soap installations not properly attached, noise easily heard in the corridor, sink too small, elevator not so fast or didn't recognise 2nd floor, pesto pasta ordered at dinner not sufficient-tiny flecks of green supposedly pesto!

Clean, nice-sized rooms (but not enough closet, drawer space), any housekeeping problems are taken care of quickly. Large bathrooms. Nice court yard with a pool and breakfast/bar area with gazebos.

Gets a little noisy during the day if your windows face the pool, also we woke up every time somebody came in late and oepned their doors in the hallway. Breakfast is just so-so, if you don't come when the eggs have just been fried, be ready to eat rubbery eggs that've lying on the hotplate witing their turn. The advertized bar on the premises was never opened during our stay. One really negative thing is the internet, It's advertised as free and, I guess, that's what you get. Incredibly slow and not even working most of the time. Ok on their terminals in the lobby however, if you want to print a boarding pass, you can't do it there is no printer connected!!! So if you need to stay connected on your hiliday, this is not a place for you.

The relative informality and helpfulness of the reception staff and the fact that it is wheel-chair friendly. The rooms were spacious and modern and the facilities adequate/good

The immediate area is very quiet and in part, a little seedy. It is some distance from the nearest metro.
