Having a private room and bath for such a low cost was great. The location was also excellent. The entire hotel was very nice. The internet connection was a little on and off at times.

Easy access to Old Town, Guggenheim and shopping. Fair value for the price paid. Clean room and good beds This hotel was popular with groups and was very noisy. Noise travelled up the stair well and along the corridoors. Doors banging all night. Most of the staff were professional and friendly. One or two had a "could not care less" attitude. The restaurant evening buffet was very poor. We would not stay there again.

Breakfast was great! It's a rather impersonal hotel with a giant noisy lobby. To get wi-fi in your room costs an additional 10 euros. You can use it for free in the lobby but the bar and tables make it not a desirable thing to do.

It is a good medium price hotel which is convenient to city centre and the Guggenheim. The rooms are small but are well equiped and comfortable and I would stay there again.

The hotel was good value for money and the range of facilities on offer was very good. The room was listed as double/twin, but the beds were really only single beds so it was less suitable for a young couple.

Excellent location, short walk to Guggenheim and city centre. High quality room making it very good value for money. Thin walls meant you could hear people in the hallway but not a major problem

I was pleasantly surprised the the Lobby was very spacious and pleasant. The front desk reception all speak some English. Some of them are not very friendly though. I requested for a non-smoking, clean and quiet room and our room was just that. Couldn't be happier. Our main purpose was to visit the Guggenheim museum and shopping and both of them are within 10minutes' walk. We saved on public transport! The small shops in Old town offers better shopping for clothes but most of the shopkeepers don't speak/understand English. However, Bilbao is not tourist friendly: the shops close from 1:30pm to 5 pm for lunch and dinner is only available after 8 or even 9 pm. Getting anything to eat in between is impossible. There are only cakes and cold sandwiches available. On the whole, our stay in Bilbao was good. Hot chocolate with churros is a must try though it is only available after 4 pm. Our booking stated that the cost of wifi at Barcelo was 5euro/day but the hotel staff insisted that it was 10euros/day. We felt short changed.
