Featuring free Wi-Fi, a gym and casino, Sercotel Coliseo occupies Bilbao’s former opera house. Centrally located, it is a 5-minute walk from Abando Metro Station and Bilbao Train Station.
Score from 1107 reviews Excellent
Located just across the River Nervión from Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum, Hesperia Bilbao has an eye-catching colored glass façade. Bilbao’s historic quarter and city center are a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 1484 reviews Very good
Designed by Javier Mariscal, this stylish hotel is across from Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum. It features a roof terrace with a restaurant and spectacular views.
Score from 1383 reviews Excellent
Located 3 minutes’ walk from the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao City Rooms offers bright, modern rooms with free WiFi, flat-screen TV and laptop safe. There is 24-hour reception.
Score from 444 reviews Excellent
Modern hotel, clean comfortable rooms with a fresh design, very good breakfast with real choice (vs other 4* hotels in other regions), excellent location - 10 min walk to old town and 10 min walk to Guggenheim Museum area.
Expensive parking (25 eur per day), didn't like front desk restaurant recommendation (way overpriced, was expecting a better advice from locals...)
Excellent hotel and great location for seeing Bilbao. Staff very helpful.
Access to underground parking rather difficult at time of stay due to building works.
The position is central close to the old town and museum. Remarkably extensive breakfast Warm welcome
Car parking on site a tad expensive The previous client's dirty socks left in the litter bin was not appreciated.
Good location, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and service, nice design and pieces of art in lobby and restaurants. Our wish for rooms (4 pcs) close to each other was fulfilled.
Food of the dinner menu (meaning the budget meal) was poor. Sometimes there was dust and trash on the room floor even after cleaning. Lobby was cold probably because of the renovation.
Very comfortable bed!! Good and rich breakfast.
Worst coffee ever on the breakfast!! Unbalanced and cheap with the otherwise very good breakfast.
no support from the front desk regarding reservation for the museum
I'm not normally a fan of hotel rooms with a bathroom separated from the room by only a sheet of glass, but this one had a layout that actually worked well. The view from our room on the sixth floor was nice.
Nothing to report
The staff is very nice and helpful. The beds are comfy enough, also appreciated the fact that there was a kettle in the room. Wi-Fi worked OK.
The room didn't give you that nice comfy feeling. This might be because the view was just that of a wall and because although the cleaning was OK, the shower was not kept very well (there were water leaks and the wall around the shower was all ruined). The fact that the shower is IN the room, is possibly the worst idea they could come up with. When I take a shower I like the bathroom to be a bit warmer than the bedroom, so we would turn the heating up very high to be able to take a shower....or else we'd freeze. Really don't get why they decided to put the shower in the bedroom!? The corridors in the common areas were not kept all that well either.
Location was great. The bed, bedding and pillows were the most comfortable ever! Breakfast was superb and kept us going all day long
Wasn't keen on the bathroom! The open plan layout meaning that you step out of the shower and are right in the room. Insufficient privacy for our liking but that's an age thing. The room we had was a little dark, not much natural light getting in. Thought the Reception staff could be a little warmer. They did the job but lacked warmth. Fortunately I speak reasonable Spanish, but my partner who does not struggled to find anyone who spoke English
Poor supply/quantity of tea and milk
The Location is quite good - Walking distance to Major places in Bilbao.
Bed was too soft.
Location. Central comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast.
Car park too expensive @ 25 euro per night.
Our main reason for staying in Bilbao was to visit the Guggenheim so we chose a hotel that was a short walk to it and other attractions. The room was small but smartly laid out, the bed was comfortable, albeit two singles pushed together rather than one double, the shower was fantastic and the hot water jug and fridge were a bonus. We had breakfast as part of the 3 day deal and it was delicious. The staff were delightful and the Wifi was excellent, also a nice big MAC screen in the 'arty' public area.
A good basic hotel with lots of facilities. We were travelling in October so I think we got to stay in a four-star hotel with quite a reasonable price. If you're looking for something special in a hotel, this hotel might not be your choice.
The location was alright, but maybe I'd rather choose a hotel nearer the old town if possible. In our room the view to the backyard of the hotel was quite dull. In our room the double bed was actually two beds next to each other that moved really easily apart during the night. So we weren't that satisfied to the bed. Also I didn't really fancy the modern bathroom with the toilet, the shower and the washing basin all in separate spaces. It looked nice but using it was a bit difficult.
So close to everything, modern, clean, friendly, polite good price.
Good location to / from Airport & Bilbao Town centre, Great views if you pay extra to get the river view. Breakfast is good, Rooms are clean and quite modern, beds are really comfortable
Bar area is not very good, limited in space, table an chairs limited, looks at home in a low cost budget hotel,. Parking is expensive per night @ €25 Hotel close by charges €16 per night. Rooms at the back of the hotel have no view and shower / sink area is in your room
Location Cleanliness Modern Design
very friendly, warm and easy to go everywhere, best value for money.fastest wifi ever i met, best breakfast so far:)
staff, room, location
nothing to dislike
Everything about the hotel itself
Parking - but you could use hotel's underground parking for 18 euro per night so that could have been an option.
Shower (water all over bathroom)
The location of the Hotel to the old Town plus being near to other places of interest
Every thing for our 2 day trip was fine
Upon check-in, although I didn't receive the standard warm and friendly welcome, it was efficient. The person who checked me in made a huge effort to supply me with a map and made recommendations on things to do in Bilbao. The hotel is in a great spot, only a 10 minute walk to Abando train station which was great for my needs as I was travelling on to Madrid. Upon arrival into Bilbao by the Bizkaibus from the airport, get off at the 1st stop and to walk to this hotel should take around 15mins but it's VERY easy to get to as it's right by the river. The hotel is close to the old town and only a 5minute walk to the Zubizuri bridge and about 10minutes to the Guggenheim.
I was placed on level 2 and although I was not in the room for very long, the room felt very dark and closed in. I had a cold but could not find tissues as a standard issue in the bathroom as is standard in all hotels I have ever stayed in.
Clean and efficient business hotel.
Close to center of the city.
