It vas very close to the beach and also to congress center, that was what I wanted during my stay, because I attended a congress, and following the congress I could try the sea... that was cool...

Location. Walk to Beach and restaurants. easy access to public transportation. Quiet. Away from downtown.

Everyone has their own taste and experience. We've been to Barcelona before and did not want to stay down town. For some, being a bus ride from the center of things might not be ideal.

The staff was helpful and the facilities quite nice overall. The restaurant provided a very nice dinner as well.

The advertised WiFi is not truly avaable throughout the hotel, but rather really only in the lobby. They do have three computers available in the lobby for general use. The location is not perfect for seeing the city, but is close to the bus line and the beach.

The hotel is clean, located is in a quiet area, few minutes to reach the sea. Buffet breakfast is very good.

Yes, one of the staff members was not helpful at all, unfortunately she was in the morning shift, she made lots of mistakes as for example; a friend arrived 2 days after us and asked if we are in this hotel ( 2 rooms + junior suit ) and she said we did not check in in Icaria Hotel !!!! The friend was going to leave but upon her call we arrured her that we are staying in the hotel, then after going back to the reception she found our names !!!! Second, I was expecting a package from Germany sent by DHL, the package arrived to the hotel in the morning (1/7/2010), the receptionist refused to receive it and said that I am not booked in the hotel !!!! my flight arrived the same day afternoon.I asked several times and the staff denied everything

Not enought staff at front desk to deal with the guests generating long waiting time, staff very inflexible with late checkout even though there were plenty of rooms and I was offering to pay for half day.

Excellent! The location was perfect, close to a bus stop that would take you directly to La Rambla. Close to the beach, a shopping mall and cinema. Would book there again!

As of July 1st, there was a tax applied to our stay and the hotel charged our credit card June 30th without our knowledge. They also tried to charge the buffet breakfast for each day we were there, when we hadn't requested it. The wireless internet never worked in our laptop so we had to connect through a cable given to us at reception. We would've preferred the wireless!

Hotel Icaria was perfect in every way. Just 5min. from the beach, 5min. from the shopping centre, close to the city, clean and modern. We will stay again. Icaria is a great Barcelona hotel.

It was the second time that we were here. We like the kindly personal and we like the location because it is 10min walk from the beach/olympic port and you are not in the busy streets of Barcelona it is in a very nice area od the city.

The lunch menu were very expensive.
