Noisy street Via Laietana
Good localtion, very friendly staff
Could not find the place where I had to pick up my keys (very incomplete adress) and almost ended up in another hotel thinking I didn't have a bed to sleep in that night. Luckily the front desk called me just in time for me before I had checked in to another place.
– Location? Though the street is so loud it makes sleeping impossible. – Staff. Even though the overall impression is bad, the fair staff did their job very well and helped us with solutions.
We arrived in the city around midnight and were met by a guy in the hood opening the gates for us. He was very quick and seemed to hurry somewhere, so there was no feeling of comfort or a warm welcome. After paying with a card (the details of which he just told to his partner via phone call because the reception is in two blocks away), he rapidly went away, leaving us in a room which was completely not as good as the ones in the pictures. The smell, the lightbulbs without covers, unaccessible wi-fi and endless noise from the street. We decided to go to the reception (5 minutes walking) and take back the money. After speaking with the man on the reception, we agreed to go look some other place to stay right away and give them the money for one night. After an unsuccessful attempt to refund our money on the card, he managed to let us stay in the room for this night and deal with it next morning. The other girl on the reception next morning accepted our complains and refunded the rest of the money. We found a very nice hotel in a different neighborhood only a bit more expensive. – In other words: the quality (including breakfast by the way) and comfort level does not at all match the price they want for their rooms.
Wifi was allright. Location was good.
Rude staff Unclean rooms+bathrooms Cockroaches in shower Left after one day and booked another hotel. Noisy, filthy and unfriendly.
Nice large room with air-conditioning. Kitchen facilities are ok, lounge area pleasant to relax. Nice small balcony to see street life. Location is a close walk to several old quarter sights.
No sign at location easy to walk passed, you need to call staff to meet you there. Wifi non existent in our experience, we rang for assistance staff member sounded like we were bothering him but finally said he would come to check it in 5 mins, we waited 1 hour no one came. Our room faced the main road so was noisy at night and heavy traffic in early morning. Shared bathroom were left messy and wet by other guests, small showers. We had some neighbours that banged doors and made too much noise LATE at night.
Clean and cozy. Lots of places nearby to walk to.
Forgot breakfast one day and the breakfast was very basic. No fruit or protein.
Location, privacy, space is unmatched.
Using multiple keys to entrances, including gate took time to get used to. Pulling luggage up circular stairway one floor
Location was in the middle of Barcelona's old centre between Gothic and the El Borne. The room was spacious and had a little balcony.
The room was located next to a big street with 24/7 traffic. Bathrooms where dirty and showers uncomfortable. Not the typical B&B.
There was nobody at the reception for 24 hours. And there was no telephon to ask about the apartment .It wasn't a B and B. At night we had no help and securiy. We requested a twin bed room, but we got a dubble bed. Breakfast means some bread and Nescafe and etc.in the small kitchen. It seems we had to cook by ourself.（But nobody told us about it） The door of bathroom was broken. We had only one foottowel for all the guests.(there ware four more at that time) Rooms are face to very noisy street, and subway pass under the building. The photos which you show on Booking.com are three times better than reality. We had only one key .They said they'll make one more but they didn't. On the second day we asked to move to another apartment but they didn't accept it. The third day we moved to a 4 star Hotel near from there, which was cheeper than this (so they call)B and B. We had to discuss about one hour to get one night fee back from the owner of it. Their advertising was not true ,that's why we had a right to cancell it. The location was only good thing for this"B and B".If it costs €40 , it's stayable for students, but not €95 a day. They must know themself. It is not kind for Booking.com users to offer this "B and B" as a not changeable option. Because、 for the most of people one night is more than enough. Emi
The staff at the check in office were great. No hard feelings towards them.
The apartment is on the first floor of what is perhaps the most busiest street in all of Barcelona. It sounded like we were on a freeway. The bathrooms were old with shower curtains that did not close properly, so mess and water went everywhere. Had the place been offered at Youth Hostel prices, say 40 - 50 per night I would have accepted this as fair, but we paid 100 (euros or pounds but either way) and it was by no means at a standard I would expect for that price. Would not stay again.
Only one good thing in this place is location, near by most of interesting things to see in Barcelona.
Bad joke... Dirty kitchen, a lot of ants in the bathroom, often cold water. Room with bulbs instead lamps.Room is so noisy, that we can't sleep all night. The breakfast was terrible, there was nothing to eat, so we have to eat outside each day. One day they forgot about preparing breafast ... The worst hostel I have ever seen.
The location and the staff/ Best prices and willing to accommodate you should you want to extend your stay. I will stay there again.
September 2013 visit for 5 nights: Generally a good central location not far from the beach or the Gothic Quarter. Broadband was fast. Air-conditioning was efficient. Kitchen provided a washing machine and cooker to prepare meals.
September 2013 visit for 5 nights: The room was very basic - two wobbly beds, bedside table, single chair, mirror and rail for clothes. There was no TV in the room as described and the room looked nothing like images shown. The booking stated the apartment offered views of the Cathedral. The apartment is not in direct proximity to the Cathedral nor are there views from rooms. The room looked across the main road which was incredibly busy and very noisy. The windows offer very little noise insulation. There is also an underground line beneath the road which makes the building shake every 15 minutes or so. We both struggled to sleep because of the noise. I found cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms. Breakfast included but this is very basic - long life bread, milk etc and not much else. The description of the apartment is misleading and should be updated. The company called 'Apartments in Barcelona' seem to have apartments across the city. The image doesn't correspond to this apartment.
- the room was big
- the air-condition didn´t works rightly - no breakfast available - the bathroom was terrible (very small)
