Honestly I had bigger expectations but this is still a beautiful city worth visiting. The main streets are made for pedestrian walks - wide, clean with plenty of benches and trees. Even in the naiborhoods there are streets like this.
What I disliked was the architecture of the smaller streets - it's like you walk between two walls, absolutely no space between the buildings!

Lots to see and do in and around the city.
Lots to see and do in and around the city. The modernista style buildings were new to me and to the best of my knowledge unique. Gaudi's influence is everywhere. Not really to my taste, but remarkable for all that. Plenty of places to eat, drink and stroll around. A special place that is well worth visiting.

Wonderful vibrant energy and everything we did was walkable.
Wonderful vibrant energy and everything we did was walkable. Never felt unsafe and getting lost in the gothic quarter was such a treat. Plenty of small bars and genuine tapas all very reasonably priced. We didn’t have any trouble with pickpockets but would still suggest being sensible with your belongings-it can get busy

The architecture (eg La Pedrera, Sagrada Famillia) is amazing and the parks (eg Ciutadella and Montjuic) and the waterfront are beautiful areas to walk. Food is good (Casa Delfin is well worth a visit).
HOWEVER be VERY AWARE of the numerous pick-pockets and other thieving gangs in Barcelona. Our friend had her necklace grabbed from around her neck resulting in her falling over and breaking her shoulder in three places. Although the medical service and local police very helpful, the holiday would have been better without this happening!

My visit was a family meeting as my son lives in Barcelona or Barna as they call it. So I definitely liked it. There was a family touch in it! We were in Barna in two stages during our trip. Both the times we were at a walking distance from La Sagrada, the world famous monument. There was a beautiful walking plaza (lane) nearby. I enjoyed sitting there sipping my Vermut quietly and enjoying Tapas. Spain is a historical country and they have retained it very nicely. People were joyous and ready to talk and help. We visited Madrid, dined at the world's oldest restaurant there and the southern towns of Cordoba, Seville and Granada. All over we traveled by super fast trains enjoying the countryside. Clean and tidy cities, Would like to visit longer than this 18 day trip.

Barcelona has so much to do, and is a beautiful city.
Barcelona has so much to do, and is a beautiful city. The biggest problem is over-tourism. We were there in March, which is not "high season" and you already had to buy all your tickets in advance and things were crowded. I would avoid Barcelona in the summer months if possible. Park Guell is a must, but the Casa Batilla was not only crowded but a bit underwhelming for the price. Eat at Ciutat Comtal
We booked this place last minute as our flight home was cancelled and we had a horrible experience the night before relying on the airline to book hotels. So we decided to go into Barcelona and book a last minute deal ourselves. We got an AMAZING deal in the suite on the top floor with a private roof top patio. Room was very cool. A more masculine/dark feel to it which was fine for us (two men) the patio was huge on the roof top. Over all couldn't have asked for a better spot for our bonus two nights in Spain.
Best value for price in Barcelona. I got the very last room available at a discounted rate in the middle of a music festival that got the city crowded.
The ammenities, the level of service, the room.with a spacious private terrace, and the quality+variety of the breakfast menú, the variety of TV channels, the extra size of the shower room, are at the level of much more expensive hotels ot the big global brands.
And on top location is super convenient.
I sincerely recommend it
Enjoy

Modern, clean and well located hotel. Located slightly away from city center but has very good metro connection to all main sights. Also, has some nice restaurants around in the are and the beach is 10mins away. Hotel has a beautiful terrace with a pool with a view to the sea. Breakfast were good, quite nice options. Rooms comfortable with a nice view to Barcelona panorama. Even though some things were lacking in the rooms, our stay was very nice and we left happy . I would recommend the place.
Convenient location near the famous historical place -Plaça d'Espanya.
Easy to get to from the airport- direct bus from Barcelona airport stops near the hotel.
All types of public transport and excursion buses have a stop next to the hotel. You can walk to the center or take 4 metro stops.
Tasty breakfast, nice helpful personal, comfortable clean rooms with welcoming drinks.
It was also very convenient that rooms had a refrigerator, an iron with ironing board and a coffee machine.
Hotel Barcelona Center was amazing! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe. The beds were large and super comfortable, the room and bathroom were spacious, and the hotel was clean overall. I was able to check-in early with no notice which was extremely helpful. The staff was helpful at pointing out the best Tapas place, as well as the best means for transportation in and around the city. This hotel felt like a fancy hotel but was a decent price. I would definitely stay here again!
I had a friend visiting Spain for the first time from the USA. The hotel is in the perfect location for us to explore all parts of Barcelona with a 30 minute walk. And, if shopping is what you are looking for, it is right in the heart of the upscale shopping district.
The staff was very attentive and took special care to alert us of the Barcelona marathon so we could adjust our arrival plans so we would not be affected by street closures.
We loved our stay and can't wait to return.
The room was very comfortable, spacious and quiet. Good bed and a very good working space. The space at the top floor to work and relax was also great as i could use it while waiting for my room te get ready. Breakfast is immense, very scrumptious! The hotel is opposite the congress center which is extremely convenient and 4 min. from the metro so well connected to Barcelona city centre. A really nice surprise was a bottle of cava with 2 glasses delivered on my birthday!
Amazing location in the heart of Sarria. Waking up with the smell of fresh bread from the bakery across the street and the church bell sounds were the highlights of our stay. Casa Filomena is situated 15-20 min from Barcelona’s downtown (by public transportation). I enjoyed this location because it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Also, Pati is a great host and will make you feel most welcome at her boutique hotel❤️❤️❤️
Many thanks!🫶
Modern clean hotel in very convenient location if using Barcelona Sants train station. Nearby metro only a few stops into the city centre and also to Sagrada Familia. Reception very friendly, with a welcome drink on arrival. Breakfast was excellent (cheaper on check in than if booked in advance) - large buffet with hot and cold food, juice, fruit, coffee, omelettes made to order. Room was spacious with large comfy bed, complimentary bottles of water.
From the airport to the hotel we took the public bus as this is the cheapest option (€2,50) p.p. The hotel is nearby the metro station “Sants Estacio”. This is a great plus for moving around the city centre Barcelona. The staff in the hotel were very friendly. If you arrive earlier than check-in time, they will store your luggage for free. Each day your room will also be cleaned. I definitely recommand this place.
Great week spent in Barcelona. We loved the location, you can't go wrong as city has a lot to offer. Hotel is not American style, so don't expect huge room and office space. This is a great for staying if you want to spend the night in and be out all day. There is no lobby with big bell desk and porter. Go somewhere else if that is what you are looking for. Place was awesome.
- We chose this hotel for our last night in Spain/Barcelona. We were coming in by train and leaving the next day by plane. The hotel is close to the Barcelona Sants train station and Placa d'Espanya (one of the stops for the Aerobus to El Prat airport). There are lots of restaurants in the area.
- The air conditioning and WiFi worked great. We had plenty of hot water.
Pretty good location and staff was accommodating when we got the wrong room by accident. Very clean room and comfortable beds. Location isn't great we had to either take the metro or pay $25 euro for a taxi to get to the center of Barcelona. Overall a nice hotel location could be better unless you just want to stay close to the airport.
The hotel is located in very good place, near beach, near street where you can eat everything, near metro station and if you really like to walk only half hour is enough to be in the center. My kids loved breakfast. My friends are coming to Barcelona this summer and I would recommend them this hotel, beacuse it has good value fir price.
I can say that the hotel is good and clean for a 3 star hotel in the city center of Barcelona. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is simple but ok, good coffee. Location is excellent you are close to Rambla, close to restaurants and shops. The staff is very kind. I think is a little expensive but you are in the center of Barcelona....
The hotel was located just in the middle of airport and the city center. Right in front of the hotel (appx 50m) was Badal metro station wich is going to the center in 10-15 min. There was 7 station to La Sagrada Familia.
Alao the staff was professional, excellent in english.
The room was very-very clean.
The position is perfect, only 5 minuts walking from Plaza España, it was very simple to go to the city center, metro station and train.
The neighbour is one of the best in Barcelona, there are lot of bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel is very clear, I also slept very well. I Recommend it.
This hotel is fun and modern, which makes for an overall pleasant experience. This hotel also includes updated smart TVs, daily wine and cheese and a very comfortable roof top area. I did not regret my decision to stay at this hotel a second time during my multi-city trip to Spain.
The staff was super nice, especially the male receptionist (Carlos?). The hotel is in a quiet area with many local people. Not too many tourists. It is a great place to stay if this is not your first trip to Barcelona. Easy access to the city center and beach with buses and metro.
Lovely hotel situated in heart of Barcelona. Rooms furnished appropriately to the age of the hotel. Especially liked how I could choose what type of breakfast I wanted and pay the appropriate price, indeed best breakfast I had in Spain.
