Best Western Bilbao Conde DuqueCampo Volantin, 22, 48007 Bilbao (Show map) Very good, Score from 390 reviews“The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. ”
Fiona,
Largs
Set overlooking the impressive Calatrava Bridge on the River Nervión, this centrally-located hotel is well-located for visiting the cultural sights of the exciting Basque capital. Use the Conde Duque as a base to visit Bilbao’s world-famous Guggenheim Museum or historic quarter. In spite of this convenient setting, the surrounding residential streets ensure that you enjoy a peaceful stay. After sightseeing, return to the hotel to relax with a session in the Conde Duque’s jacuzzi or meal in the restaurant; end the night in style with a drink in the cocktail bar. Hotel Rooms: 67, Hotel Chain: Best Western.

The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's an easy walk from the main railway station or from Moyua Square, where the airport bus stops. There's also a well-stocked supermarket more or less equidistant between the latter and the hotel. The riverside location is very pleasant, and the Guggenheim's not far to walk, nor is the old town. Some of the fittings are a bit worn, but very clean and well maintained. The room was spacious. The window didn't close well, but fortunately the street outside's fairly quiet. Staff very helpful and forthcoming with information, maps, etc. Breakfast could perhaps have been more varied, and the coffee's awful by the high Spanish standards, but for three stars it was adequate. The café annexed to the hotel has good opening hours, and there are more nearby. The wi-fi was very fast. Noise insulation could have been better. Some people would want more tv English-language tv stations. Otherwise, it's hard to find fault at the price.

Good hotel. Most of all I liked colation. It was very important, because I planned to stay in Bilbao just 2 days. Hotel is in front of Kalatrava's White Bridge and in 5 minutes walk from Gugenheim Museum. The room was flooded prewiously by some inhabitants from above, so ceiling was in dirty patterns. Sound proofing was very bad! It's was impossible to get asleep in the night. I heard every movement and action in the next room and in the room from above. Sometimes it was like somebody is taking a bath in my bathroom! Would I recommend it? I will recomend it to people who will stay in Bilbao for several days to see main sightseeings. But I wouldn't recomment it for thouse, who travells with small children and for those, who will stay for a long time.

Front Desk and restaurant service excellent. Hotel delivered everything we required including (at extra cost) reserved private parking close to the hotel. Good deal that included tickets to the Guggenheim. Very pleased with this choice. Bbc World tv for a bit of news in English would have been appreciated.

The cost, location, availability and the reputation of bw made this an easy choice for us to make. The young English speaking male receptionist was particularly helpful advising us on local restaurants and how to get to places of interest etc... Very comfortable, convenient hotel for the tourist sites in Bilbao, and a great scenic location, by the river and the Guggenheim. Would have been nice to be able to get a drink in the hotel in the evening as we waited for friends, but the bar/ restaurant wasn't open then. However, there were several other small bars nearby.

Nice location, clean rooms The temperature in the room was around 27C what is really to warm although it was cold outside. The airco did not work. According to the personal in the hotel, they only work in the summer. After my complained the personal forced the window of my room with a special key in order to be able to open at least the window what solved in the end the problem.

The location of this hotel is perfect for walking out the door and being right in the middle of things to explore Bilbao...which is a truly exquisite small city. Hotel was adequate in every way for a stay in this great city if you plan to just use it as a place to sleep. I would stay here again for the price and location. A bit old and tired. Given a room with a very poor view.

Very efficient reception staff and great location to initially find and then venture out to all parts of the city. The hotel were expecting us and very welcoming and the included Guggenheim tickets immediately offered and made available upon the chosen day with no fuss. The complimentary Tea & Coffee tray was provided when required and replenished as necessary.
