Bilbao JardinesJardines, 9, 48005 Bilbao (Show map) Very good, Score from 508 reviews“I was expecting a private hostel but it was a great little hotel. I would definately stay there again. Location was great for us. Breakfast was great. Would love to have been able to stay more than 1 night.”
Sheila,
Grove City
This uniquely designed, new hotel is very well located for exploring all the main sights of the city by foot, and is close to the river in the historic quarter of central Bilbao. Situated on a pedestrian street, the hotel is surrounded by the charming atmosphere of the most historic part of the city, yet you can still reach the hotel by car. The train station is also only 5 minutes away. Just around the corner you will find the Santiago Cathedral and the famous Guggenheim and fine arts museums are only 10 minutes away. Business travelers will appreciate being just 15 minutes from the Euskalduna Conference Center. Opened in March 2005, the hotel also offers air conditioning and a 21-inch TV in the rooms. If you have forgotten your alarm clock, you can also receive a wake-up call via your telephone, before heading down to enjoy the continental breakfast (extra charge). Hotel Rooms: 32

Access to surrounding places of interest was excellent, and price was fair. The view from room at rear of hotel was not pleasant.

The location is perfect, in the old city and close to metro and tram. The staff is friendly and accurate. We had a 3-persons room. However the room was mend for two persons, so it was small for 3. The extra bed was like a camping-bed. Too short and instable. Wifi worked with old programs.

Location bang in the middle of the old town. Noise travels very easily between rooms, especially via the floorboards when someone walks in the next room, or in the corridor.

Nothing. I asked for a different room as soon as I saw what was assigned but they could not change it. There was poor light (I could not read in the room, certainly not in bed). The place was like an understaffed youth hostel and I expected a modest hotel. I was not expecting luxury but this place is off my list forever. How can I tell what I didn't like without it sounding like a complaint? 1. The door to the hotel was locked and you had to ring a bell and wait for someone to come. 2. The lights in the halls were supposed to go on as you walked but they were always delayed so you were walking in a dark corridor for a while. 3. The same delay in lighting happened when you opened the door to your room. 4. The room lighting was inadequate for reading. 5. The room was totally bare, without any decor...OK for a hostel; a bit spare for an average price hotel. 6. The concierge was totally non-helpful regarding provision of map, help moving about the city etc.

Very clean and modern rooms and bathrooms, an exceptional staff, very close to the city center and the important landmarks There were a lot of noisy drunks on the streets in the old town (this hotel is in the old town) at night. They seemed very peaceful, though and we didn't have any problem while we stayed there

Hotel is located in the 'Casco Viejo' or old part of Bilbao and is in the middle of all the shopping, eating and drinking that you would want. It is also just a shortish walk along the riverbank from the Guggenheim (tip - stay on the hotel side of the river, use the lift up to the top of the bridge and approach the Guggenheim from the bridge). Room had a proper double bed, not 2 twins pushed together, but with an exceptionally firm mattress. The hotel is in a pedestrianised area of Bilbao. Although there are roadsigns which lead you to the general area of the hotel, there is no sign off the road pointing to where the hotel is (or at least we didn't see one). I.E. we followed the signs to the hotel, but when we got close to the hotel, they vanished. Eventually after circling a few times following the signs, we had to park and go find the hotel on foot. Just head straight for the Arenal underground car-park and print off a map that shows you how to get from there to the hotel - it's not far.

Great hotel. Located in the heart of the city, yet quiet. Around the hotel shops, restaurants and bars. Guggenheim walking distance (10 minutes) English speaking reception staff, friendly and nice. Modern rooms, large well equipped and pleasant. Highly recommended. Nearby public car park is located on a hill just 15 minutes. Very expensive

The location was tremendous - very close to superb restaurants and places to eat pinxtos. The frontage was modern, yet fitted in with Bilbao. The decor was clean and bright, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there!

“This hotel was nice and modern, but set within a lovely old building. The reception staff were brilliantly helpful, and patient with our slow Spanish. The location is great for the old town and the theatre (and tourist info office there) and the centre of Bilbao is small enough to walk around.” Anna, Oldham |
