A charming 4-star family-run hotel located in the northern part Mallorca, in the popular bay of Alcudia, with its beautiful beaches, lush nature, offering privacy and freedom.
Score from 37 reviews Very good
This hotel consists of individual one room bungalows spread out over a lovely property. The half board option is well worth it with a very large selection of high quality foods. It is separated from the beach by the nature preserve. A short walk down the path through the preserve brings you to a less crowded area of the beach. It is located in a quieter area and attracts many families with young children.
Wi-fi connection wasn't great, but fairly consistent with what we found elsewhere in Spain. Breakfast coffee comes from a push button machine, so not great quality, but ok. If you don't rent a car, hotel is a 80 euro cab fare from airport. We took the public bus one- way, which was not difficult and only about 6 euro but took 2 hours (45 min by car).
All staff were friendly and polite but also very efficient. The site was extremely well maintained and clean. There was an excellent choice of food, both at breakfast and at evening meal. There are good facilities ( including a training pool for swimmers ) and pleasant, spacious grounds. The whole site has a very relaxed ambience. There are bus stops immediately outside the complex for travel along the coast or across the island.
It is not possible to personally adjust the air conditioning in the accommodation - you have to ask at reception, who then send out a maintenance worker. The coffee at breakfast was provided by a machine, and was terrible. Possibly as a result of the hotel location ( adjacent to an area of marshland ) there were quite a lot of mosquitos, particularly in the evenings.
Private bungalow rooms are well equipped and peaceful off season. Staff were all very helpful and freindly. Buffet breakfast and dinners were copious and varied. Our limited German proved useful as Brits were in the minority in the hotel. Great pools and lovely beach just across the road.
Mozzies can be a challenge at dusk - pack plenty of countermeasures.
swimming pool for sports wonderful path to the sea great bike rental good restaurants at small city next to hotel
- easy walk to the beach - overall friendly staff - swimming pool for kids - space in the room
- price. But that is a combination of late booking and prices oferred by booking.com
The food was excellent and location to a beautiful beach
Great location with beautiful beach across the road. Lovely well kept grounds with lots of open space. We stayed half board and the food was good with lots of variety and lots of fresh fruit and a great salad bar. Staff were always helpful and friendly . the bungalows were cleaned thoroughly every day and were quite comfortable. Looking forward to returning again
Amazing beach close by, relaxed atmosphere in the resort, not too noisy, very polite and helpful staff. Very good dinners. Perfect holidays. It is more quiet and relaxing place, than a party resort. Bus stop and supermarket are close by, Can Picafort with shops, bars and restaurants is 15 min waliking distance.
- poor quality of wifi connection - many of outside tables of the dining area were pre-booked - strong cleaning or anti insect products in the houses.Great as there are no insects but probably not very healthy and may cause allergic reaction such as (in my case) sneezing, running nose and eyes.
Very friendly staff; functional bungalows, changing tasty buffet; easy access to a clean beach; great location to explore the northern part of Mallorca
it's a family resort, so be prepared to have a lot of kids & babies around
Pool,s the proximity of everything Wewerehalf board and the food was very good especially the evening meal There was always plenty of sun beads and the staff were excellent. This is a great place to relax and unwind, there is a supermarket very close and the beach is not far away with a good bar/restraunt on it.
It did not bother me but the night time entertainment was limited if you want a busy night time I am guessing Can Pickfort would offer more. I don,nt know because we stayed at the resort
The best place to rest on Majorca
Good facilities and excellent food. Huge choice.
Bedroom was stiflingly hot as there was no ventilation unless one left the sliding door to the patio open which was too risky. Bedside lights could not be operated independently so either all lights blazing or nothing.
Very close to the beach. The resort is situated in a quiet area of Can Picafort next to a large nature reserve. The open plan of the resort provides a very calm and spacious feeling. We liked the buffet that was very complete, tasteful and abundant. I liked that there was a pool designated to swimming lanes ~ So no playing children.
The accommodation had no privacy unless all curtains were closed. The terrace lacked a fence or plants and trees to provide some needed privacy. Small bushes have been planted, but it will take years before they will provide a solution. The WIFI was not usable in the accommodation, in the lobby and restaurant it was sometimes okay.
Location: close to the beach, close enough to the town ( by car - 3 minutes) Great facilities: large pool, nice restaurant with lots of tables outside Good food: apart for one night, we always had at least 2 good choices
Mattress was too hard. Almost no shadow at noon on the patio. Impossible to stay outside. Music of night entertainment too loud, it could be heard inside our room.
nice pool and a fabulous beach thats ideal for kids. really helpful staff.
their could have been more for the kids. felt more of an after thought and under resourced.
Nature. Sea coast not far, big and clean. Not far from Alcudia and Can Pikafort, but not so much people at our location. Not noisy.
Splited bed. No fresh fish.
The friendly and helpful ambience of the reception service from beginning to end is worthy of comment. I found my accommodation to be very clean, and maintained in that way by the staff, I also appreciated the welcome fruit and wine in my bungalow. The location of the resort by being close to the sea and having a convenient public bus service to other locations (although C'an Picafort is within very easy walking distance) seemed to me to make Blue Bay Resort an ideal place to spend a holiday not hemmed in by crowds but with the potential for easy travel to more crowded places. The resort seemed to be very child friendly, I would go again.
The mattress on the bed was much too hard for my preference. The only other observation that I would make would be that the only map available was in German.
Perfect location; Close to See Pool is perfect. Staff is very friendly, good service. Cleaning every day. Breakfast and dinner are fine. We will definitely get back to this resort if we go to Mallorca again!!!
There is a show every evening, with a little loud music.
Bungalows providing personal space. Food was excellent even for fussy eaters. Kids loved the pool.
We booked the day before we travelled and were worried as we dislike the high rise hotel resorts. We were very pleased, and liked the detached bungalows in a private resort, the resort had plenty of green areas and we could not see any hotels; although the busier towns were close. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort was clean and our bungalow was cleaned daily. The closeness to a lovely beach was a plus. There was a supermarket less than a five minute walk. The kitchen was stocked well enough when we were half board and the food was good with plenty of choice. Drinks were reasonably priced. Other guests were respectful, there was no unwanted noise, no one keeping sunbeds when they were not at the pool; we never failed to get sunbeds, pool was welcoming. I had no complaints about the resort.
Fantastic pools, lovely breakfast, very cool reception.
No washing up utensils, apart from that fantastic.
People are great, who works there. Hotel is the perfect place for the families, very calm. Beach is located in 3-5 min walking, and really not a lot of people there. Much better the Formentor beach
Good location. Very close to a nice beach. Friendly staff. Big and nice swimming pools. Good cost performance overall.
Very slow wifi. The quality of the meals are ok but not impressive.
Me and my wife spent 11 nights in Blue Bay resort. The stay was wonderful, real good value hotel, highly recommended to everyone. If you have little kids under 8-10, then it is particularly good place to go.From our observation, most of the guests in this hotel travel with kids and babies. Majority are German speaking visitors, quite a few Russians and Spaniards. Here are the main pros of the hotel: * relatively big territory of the resort, with lots of green grass and vegetation around * separate bungalows with spacious terrace in front, which give you a nice feeling of privacy and comfort * two swimming pools - a big one, which predominantly is meant for kids, and a smaller one (containing six tracks), which is aimed for serious swimming * good diverse food for extra pay (nb: we were on half board: breakfast + dinner) * polite/super friendly staff * proximity to the natural park with dunes and pine trees, where you can have a nice walk * closeness to the beach (5-8 mins walking distance), which is far less crowded compared to other beaches in Alcudia or Can Picafort. Very nice clear waters with moderate waves and purely sand bottom * cleanliness of the rooms
cons of the hotel: * very bad wifi. If you want to skype, the only place to do it - reception, but even there it was rather poor *uncomfortable beds * the whole bungalow had only one mirror available, which hung in a tiny bathroom * airco in the bungalow is set at one fixed temperature only. No remote is available. If you want to change the temperature, then you need to arrange it via reception * daily entertainment (nb: offered by animators) for the guests of the resort could have been better
Very calm around the pool. No problem to get sunbeds on what so ever. Nice to have a small villa with a patio. Staff very friendly and helpful (most of the time). Show every night until about 10:30 so nothing that disturbed. The bar made good drinks in the evening. All in all a good place for the money.
The AC is on one mode only = icecold. Very Tiny bathroom. Rock hard beds, we have been on resorts where we complaint about the beds, but that was nothing compared to this. The breakfast is not good. Neighter the Dinner (skip that). Also short time for breakfast/ Dinner. Only 2 hours. There is a bar/ snackbar opening at 10, Here we ate lunch several days, but even though we where almost alone an ordered almost cold food, it could take up to 40 minutes. Sometimes they forgot to bring the food..... The gym: if you like to work your pecs, this is a gym for you. Otherwise don't bother. If you want to take a Walk to the "town" you have to eighter go on the beach in the sand or on a road with heavy traffic (no sidewalks or lights).
