Location is perfect, 5 min walking from the sea and beach, and 20 min from main attractions. Bus stop is very close. Staff is very friendly.
Relaxed atmosphere, Family ran! Clean. Friendly. Spacious.
Our room and beds were quite small and very basic. View was non existent.
The location is ideal, walking distance to the new Pompidou Cultural and Arts Center, to beautiful parks, very well connected with public transport for longer distances, like downtown, many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was satisfactory.
Very close to beach but close enough to other amenities.
Nothing that the owners can do about it - but the only thing I would comment on was the noise from the road was a bit annoying at times.
Good location easy to get in and out of town and a short walk to the beach and sea front.
our room was large and clean with comfy beds. we also had a large sunny terrace with comfortable chairs. breakfast was served to our table by one of the 5 brothers who own and run the hotel, a chance to chat each morning and a refreshing change from the usual self service walk around in other hotels. A real personal touch.
WI-Fi was not stable.
We loved the room and the view. Stuff was also very helpful and friendly. Close proximity to centre and the beach.
Bit noisy during the night due to havy traffic
Friendly helpfull staff
Nice top deck for suntan and lounge ok TV in room no Signal Tv downstairs not Working
Comfortable facility, close to beach, Very helpful management
very thin walls so could be noisy
location, staff, breakfast
Wifi was rubbish!
My mom had a single room on the side of the building. Everything about it was perfect except for the smell of septic tank that came from the building next door. The staff tried to accommodate her by changing the room, but it was the same on the upper floors.
The staff is beyond friendly. We were also given a suite with a full balcony facing the beach and there is a rooftop terrace, which is also great.
- Ants in the bathroom - Dirty bathrooms walls
+ Breakfast + Location
Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so kind and helpful at breakfasts about my friend's recent digestive problem. We were very comfortable and warm, and had easy access to a variety of restaurants nearby. This is a hotel with character, to which we will return.
Location, Decor, and Hospitality made our trip to the Hotel California a success.
No room service if you leave after 12:00, no wifi in the room, and anywhere else complicated to log in with smart phones.
Good location near the beach, decent price.
smell at asle
Good breakfast - pleasant owners / staff
Wi fi only in the lobby
The place is very central, the elegant stele of the building, the matress, amability of al personel,
Bedroom was quiet and peaceful which I find Essential. Very comfortable bed Good shower etc
Excellent friendly staff Very helpful and polite
Bed was very hard. Parking can be a problem, usually frees up a bit at night.
Good location, bus stop outside the hotel for easy access to city centre just 5/6 stops @ €1.30 fare. Funky building, quick lift. Quiet at night.
Nothing springs to mind.
You cannot fault this hotels location, walking distance to the Old Town centre, although buses are available. First impressions the hotel seems a bit dated but very atmospheric. The rooms are a good size and the ensuite shower rooms are quite modern. Try the roof terrace great views!
As we found elsewhere on this trip, the 'double bed' consisted of two single beds - made up as single beds - simply pushed together. I realise that this gives them greater flexibility, but if they are going to do this, then there are plenty of really good beds on the market that can be pushed together and made up as a double - with little loss of comfort.
Couldn't make out who all the guys running the place were(!), but they were all very pleasant and anxious to make us comfortable.
There was a bad plumbing smell in our room, but this seems endemic in parts of Spain. We needed to keep the bathroom door shut to avoid this. The air conditioner was sometimes a bit noisy. Also the wifi was not good - we were not able to receive it in our room at all, but were able to in the lobby.
I loved the funkiness of the California and its location. It seemed to be in a time warp, in a positve way - so comfortable and friendly. It was located close to town and the beach, and we walked to both daily. Our room was spacious and clean, and faced on to the street, with a limited view also to the beach. The breakfasts were quite good, but once again, a bit "time warpy", where you have specific food delivered to your table instead of smorgasbord style. We would definately stay here again though - a great hotel.
