upgrade room, breakfast was nice
almost no lobby in this hotel, soundproof could be much better, lighting in the room is or too hard, or not enough
the room wasn't so much design as I expected from the web page.
My stay was perfect, the single room I stayed in was bigger than I expected, the wi fi worked great and the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming.
I have nothing to complain about, everything was good and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
First room shown had no desk and upgrade cost €25 per night! €525 for three nights would ensure that I don't go back there. Very noisy breakfast area - poor acoustics. Plastic walls, plastic chairs. Plastic!
Stayed 7 years ago and loved the reed atmosphere, the very comfortable beds and cool airy rooms. Step, outside and within a few minutes you are in the Plaza Mayor, the old town, the main shopping street of Calle Arenal and the Royal Palace.Fab
One thing I didn't like was the shower allowed water make the bathroom floor wet.
Location, room well-designed (albeit small); good breakfast
Doors are thin and you can hear people walking along the corridor; layout is very confusing and I kept getting lost going to and from my room
The crossiants - amazing & we weren't in France !! All the tourist sites & shopping were in 10 mins radius of the hotel . Iced water in lobby , umbrellas & polite & helpful staff over 3 days .
The scrambled eggs - not seasoned & poor quality eggs . Sausages - were hotdogs, fine for lunch , not for breakfast ! Towels in rooms , very thin & poor quality .
I would say just OK, the first night the room AC was not working, or to be honest it works with a takeoff plane noise. The shutter was also not rolling down, impossible then to put the room in darkness. That means the rooms are not properly checked before guest arrived. I mentioned these problems the next morning and they could solve them. Nothing was given back for compensation. Breakfast is OK in an incredible depressing room, lobby lounge music terrific. Will not go back.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable modern rooms, stylish fun decor, good buffet breakfast, excellent location, good value for money.
This modern style of hotel requires constant vigilance and a rolling refurbishment to maintain the overall feel. Room mate Mario was almost on the cusp of requiring said refurb.
location quiet & peaceful despite being central. Good value breakfast.
lack of windows, no tea making facilities, vital for English visitors.
Location ! Friendly personnel Glutenfree breakfast
just amazing location room space price staff
Location central, just off lively Plaza Isabella and near the Royal Palace Breakfasts are good and reasonably priced
There are no real hotel facilities - just a reception desk and rooms + an area for breakfast
Great location and extremely close to a metro stop. Very modern design and friendly staff!
very close to Opera metro station, "design hotel"
room was very little, it's difficult to handle baggages and goods in the room. No table to work with laptop, poor wifi.
-rooms are very small -would have been nice if staff would have noticed birthday during stay
We used the metro from the airport to the Opera station and walked to the hotel. The hotel is centrally located and extremely quiet. The staff is exceptional. Perfect base for Madrid.
Great staff, clean room and generous bathroom and room amenities. Good breakfast for continental european standards. Excellent location, within a walking distance from the main city hilights and landmarks.
The street where the hotel is located may get pretty noisy on fridays and saturdays at night, as groups of people mey become pretty lod after too much drinking. Usually calling reception solves the issue as they ask for police intervention, to clear the area.
Room,reception and staff were super.
NOISE Doubleglazing had no effect on street noise. corridoors not carpeted--footsteps maximised. Doors needed a bang to close-very loud 1.5 cm space under door--light and noise
Great staff, very near opera house, not far from significant tourist places, I liked it very much and will return
Nothing. If you don't want street noise (late night revellers walk that way) ask for a room not on the street
My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights (20th & 21st Sept) Location - centrally located - very good for a city break. Although in a very central location, the hotel is actually on a side street which is fairly quiet so you can expect to have a very good night's sleep. Within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops Staff - excellent, extremely helpful Room - (219) - spacious, very clean, very comfortable bed with clean linen. Very trendy decor. Room has a safe and fridge - no extra charge for using the safe! All in all, a very nice and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again if ever in Madrid.
Only 2 minor things... There was no kettle in the room - it was good weather anyway so water/ cold drinks were just fine Our room had no hand basin in the bathroom, it was within the main room space - got used to the idea after using the loo a couple of times!
- Location - Design - Comfort - Fantastic Staff - and I have just re-booked another stay here!
I absolutely loved this hotel. I had a great room with comfy bed, walk in power shower, lovely toiletries, roomsafe, minibar, spotlessly clean and good breakfast. It is very close to Opera metro station and in a lovely area for bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and it was a delight to stay there.
Location, hotel clean. We booked a junior suite which was spacious with bed. 2 x Juliette balconies overlooking the street. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We used the pool at room mate oscar for 10 euros per room, absolutely lovely. Nothing negative to comment about hotel.
Cannot find fault with hotel. Madrid lovely city. Would return to room mate mario and madrid. Highly rec omens,
