In Granadas historic quarter, this charming hotel has been lovingly refurbished from a beautiful, historic town house.

The Monjas del Carmen is in a pedestrian street in central Granada, next to Plaza Nueva and the Moorish Albayzín Quarter. All soundproofed rooms have a flat-screen satellite TV and a laptop safe.
Score from 951 reviews Excellent
Alhambra Palace is just outside the Alhambra’s ancient walls, offering spectacular views of the city of Granada. It features stylish rooms with Moorish-inspired décor, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
Score from 1541 reviews Excellent
The hotel location is excellent. You can walk around the center, visit all the old buildings, tapas bars and cafes. Great choice for a quick holiday!
The taxi can only stop by the allay of the hotel because it is a historical preserved area. So if you have a big luggage, it is a bit troublesome. Plus, the hotel has no lift, so no big luggage is better.
so friendly staff . our stay in this hotel was so awesome
This place has the feel of an elegant boutique hotel. It is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. A nice touch is an afternoon tea for guests which is much needed as everyone eats dinner so late in Spain. The Alhambra of course is the big draw in Granada and it is exquisite. The Cathedral Granada is magnificent...a must see! The hotel recommended a gypsy zambra show that was full of energy and passion. Zambra is similar to flamenco. So much fun!
Room 26: wonderful view of the Al Hambra from the window.
Shower handles and workings confusing
Great breakfast and mid afternoon snacks. Nespresso coffee machine. Beautifully redone to match the original mansion. We had top floor bedroom, quiet and modern bathroom.
Fantastic location and had such wonderful charm and atmosphere.
Air conditioning was not great, however it was not summer so didn't effect us as much as it would if you stayed in high summer
Surprising Hotel. Tiny street in which I can touch walls with extended arms (and I have short arms), and then you discover a small gem hidden there. Very comfortable. Great staff. Felt welcome. Lots of charm and perfect location.
The building... The proximity of the city, the breakfast..
The deluxe dubble room is shown with a balcony - only one of the 5 deluxe has one, the number 25..the view on the alhambra is real but through a small window..and the parking is far away from the hotel - 20' walk - the prices in october are too high compared to beginning of november.. Not a deal.
You can walk to all points of interest from here, the old town, cathedral and Alhambra yet the hotel is tucked down a quiet side street. Very helpful staff and lovely decor
Excellent in all regards!
Love the style and details. Location was perfect for a visit to Granada, central to all sites and great restaurants without too much noise. Will be recommending to family and friends.
Excellent location, the staff were so welcoming and helpful.
The building, the location, the room, the free afternoon tea, ...pretty much everything!
I very small minor points was that the wifi signal in our room was weak and the view of Alhambra was not really full view, but then the room was so great that we did not mind... ca
Fabulous boutique style hotel - friendly and helpful staff - free afternoon tea and cakes central location
noise in the morning from building work next door
This hotel has lots of character along with all the comforts you would expect from a modern establishment. Great free snacks in the afternoon and a lovely central courtyard to sit and relax.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Pleasant, comfortable, nice restoration, responsive and helpful when information or supplies were needed
Not accessible- must go up several wide large stairs to get to the elevator. No help available to get suitcase to elevator. The young woman checking people in had to let the next customer wait while she helped me
Easy access to main sights and restaurants for evening stroll. Room quiet and comfortable.
No restaurant or bar in hotel but didn't cause us a problem.
The hotel is in the Historic area and easy access to the Alhambra.
No taxi access so did not enjoy lugging suitcases to the Hotel. Our superior room was very small And very cold as no heating only AC.
the second night was excellent as they change and upgrade our room to a junior suite. Then, it was perfect and so charmful
Beauiful room - luxurious setting,
Everything! the hotel style is superb with decoration mixing very well ancient and modern, staff was super friendly and helpful, location couldn't be better between the Albaycin and the Alhambra (also a taxi rank available just a few meters away)
nothing, hotel was one of the best i've seen
Loved this charming elegantly furnished Hotel. Set slightly off the Plaza Nueva down a quiet narrow lane way. Perfect location. ! We stayed in room '25' so pretty and very comfortable ..the room itself wasn't huge,(difficult with two large suitcases) generous marble bathroom .Sweet terrace off the room. The room had all amenities, Tea making facilities, full bar fridge, bottled water free. Lovely to come back to the Hotel late afternoon and sit in the typically spanish central courtyard and have afternoon tea, which the hotel provide from 4.30pm. (Savoury bread rolls, sandwiches, fresh fruit, muffins, pastries, juice , tea etc) Music playing softly, trickle of water from the fountain, very calming. Great location for exploring most of Granada's sites on foot. Also very easy access up to the Alhambra, a steep 15-20min walk. Take the C1 bus from the Plaza to the Albaycin & C1 or C2 for Sacromonte . Best magic views from Mirador St. Nicolas. Stroll along the river to 'Paseo de los Tristes' for a drink sitting looking up at the Alhambra. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hotel Casa 1800 and would definitely stay here again.
My only complaint would be that the sweet little terrace off our room basically was unusable due to the dreadful stench/ odour that wafted up from the dilapidated building below. Such a pity as from the terrace we had a wonderful uninterrupted view of The Alhambra. Did mention this to front desk as we left and was told it could be coming from the river. Definitely not, as when walking along the river there is no smell.
The hotel is in a fabulous location for a stay in Granada. It is a 2 minute stroll to the centre of town yet quiet. The hotel is beautiful and attention to detail is wonderful. Afternoon tea was an absolute treat- one expected from a 5*.
I think we were in the most poorly located room (4) as when breakfast was served it was noisy (plates clashing).
Very pleasant staff, especially Jose. The rooms are charming and the breakfast the best we've had during our travels the past two weeks. Nice tea-time in the afternoon acquaint you with other like-minded travelers.
