I've stayed in some pretty shoddy accommodation on holiday in some places (ant and cockroach infestation, rainwater coming through ceilings, electric lamps catching fire, unbearable noise nuisance, postage-stamp sized bathrooms .....etc., etc) so it feels a bit ultra-picky to even mention the minor faults in the bungalow. Overall, it was really comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Not massive deals, but it was advertised as having English TV. Not that you go on holiday to watch telly, but it would have been nice to watch an hour or so before bed. There was Sky but only the most basic package - Sky News and kids' channels. There was a DVD player, and if we'd known we'd have taken some DVDs. We will if we go back there, which we hope to. There was no heating. We went in early January and it became a little chilly in the evenings - not massively so, and certainly not as cold or uncomfortable as it would be without heating in the UK at that time of year. But some kind of heating would have made it more comfortable, and we'd happily have paid a bit more to have it, maybe on a meter. But, as I said previously, this is all ultra-picky and they were only minor issues. We would definitely go back to Playa Blanca and to this particular bungalow.
The greenery, the views, the peace and quiet and the privacy were great, as was the outside patio. Our bungalow was 9B, which is tucked away in a quiet corner of the development. The location was superb - you could eat or sunbathe outside in complete privacy. It was quiet and peaceful, great if you're stressed-out city dwellers like us. Yet only five minutes' walk away were the harbour and the promenade. Stunning views, fantastic restaurants, you could never tire of them. The beaches are wonderful. I had never been to Lanzarote before and was a little worried it might be a bit boring, but there was loads to do. We took an excursion to the volcanic national park, which was breathtaking, and a boat trip to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, which is stunningly beautiful. We could happily have spent several days just chilling in the patio of the bungalow or by the pool if we'd had more time. A week just wasn't long enough. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing, enjoyable, away-from-it-all holiday I've ever had. Lanzarote beats the Greek islands hands-down, in my opinion. Playa Blanca is without doubt the best resort on the island. It is magical.
