The excellent soundproofing was due to a complicated arrangement of double glazed french doors and screens, and we never managed to work out how to pull the shades across to keep out the sun without closing the shutters altogether. Meant it was difficult to make the room comfortable when the sun shone directly in through the windows. Air conditioning unit was too irritating to have on at night. Strange arrangement with the bathroom door - a smoked glass door with no frame meant minimal privacy, a bit awkward in what was essentially a pretty small room, and the door itself scraped on the tiled floor every time it was opened - horrible noise!
Very smart boutique hotel, nice (though compact) room with balcony on two corners overlooking the main pilgrim route into the centre of the city. Excellent soundproofing meant that the room was very quiet despite its location (and on a Friday night!). Nice helpful staff. 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and numerous bars/restaurants/shops etc, 5 minutes by taxi to the train station.
