A beautiful hotel situated by the Sotogrande Marina overlooking Gibraltar, Morocco and the Mediterranean Sea, alongside some of the best golf courses in Europe.
Score from 164 reviews Excellent
A clean, relaxing room, lovely and cool with air con on which you can adjust. The staff were very friendly and very helpful all the time and very smiley. Would definitely stay here again.
Hotel facilities Friendly staff Location
Everything was outstanding, perhaps we would like to see some changes in breakfast menu.
Only 20 min away from Gibraltar and it's a lovely little hotel - quite a relaxing place. Breakfast was nice. The hotel provides quick and easy access to the Castellar area, the Alcornocales National Park and Jimena, with a plethora of ventas to eat at.
Nice hotel clean and tidy, staff were helpful and rooms were pleasant, good evening meal and a nice pool
Extra charges for tennis courts, hot tub, gym in fact almost everything! We had a running joke in the group of it costing us 30 euros to have fun, Staff moaned at us for a gentle ball game with a few adults in the pool (only our party around the pool), when checking out we were asked to leave or pay more, so had to pay to wait for the transfer to the airport, menu choice is limited and staff put notes under the bedroom door moaning that a towel had been left in sight on the balcony, very strict place where fun is banned unless you pay 30 Euros
The rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable.
The staff are rude and grumpy. The hotel charge you for everything and anything they can, even sitting by the pool £19euros! There is no resturant open between 4-8pm so if you are hungry in between theses time there is only a small sweet shop across the road from the hotel but your not allowed to bring any of these sweets or soft drink back to the hotel so have to eat it in the street!
The hotel itself was very pretty and clean with a lovely courtyard in the middle which our room overlooked. Our room was reasonably standard but very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. All in all, pretty clean simple but nothing exceptional.
1. The location - we attended the hotel for a wedding nearby and I wouldn't recommend a visit to the hotel unless for such a purpose, as there is very little in the area to do/places to eat. At points it felt like we were in the middle of a ghost town. Although this may be due to me visiting in Sept! 2. I felt the food at the poolside bar was very overpriced and service was very slow. 3. If the hotel was near or at capacity, there is nowhere near enough sunbeds/deckchairs around the pool.
The rooms are spacious and very clean, everything you need, air con, free safe, hair dryer in bathroom, mini fridge. Large pool although not enough sun loungers. Breakfast was ok if you like toast and mini pastries, there were some cereals and bacon, egg and mini frankfurters. We didn't use the main restaurant however a friend in our party did and said the food was exceptional. I would definitely recommend taking the room with bed and breakfast as there really isn't much in the area only a few bars and restaurants that open late at night. There is nothing open at lunch time so you have to buy food from the pool bar which after a few days becomes a limited selection. Free towels for the pool. Tennis courts and a gym. There was also use of a jacuzzi at extra charge. The hotel was perfect as we had an itinerary scheduled, but I would only recommend if you are looking for a quiet relaxing hotel break for a week by the pool....
The wifi only seemed to work in reception. Any purchases for food and drink around the pool were put on your room so you have to keep a mental track of anything you've had.. On the last day we paid 20 euros for late check out at 4pm, however if you didn't opt for this, there was a charge of 15euro to stay by the pool. There is no where else to go so one of our party had to pay. Apart from this it was a lovely hotel. Most of the staff speak limited English with a few that were fluent, however the staff were helpful enough.
The hotel is actually quite nice to stay if you are in this area. The staff is nice, the breakfast is more than enough, especially the room - quite spacious, nice tables and atmosphere.
1. Location - stay here only if you have a car. Otherwise not possible to commute in the area. Except if you are there for cycling. 2. Restaurant prices - i found their food to be overpriced for the value quite frankly. I had spaghetti carbonara, with only milk and cheese, so no bacon or anything else for which I payed 12 eur. Chocolate cake costs 7eur the piece. And it is actually not a cake but sort of a big piece of browny-like cake. I don't mind to pay a bit more for the food, but only when this is worth it. Which it wasn't in this case.
We chose this hotel for it's location & accessibility to the points of interest that our family are visiting. It was a one night stop over sightseeing at Castellar, Sotogrande & Gibraltar. The hotel is set up like a countryside estate & we thought the decor charming. We booked a superior room with a queen/double size bed that fit our family of four comfortably. The room was spacious for Spanish standards & could easily fit an extra bed. Breakfast was included in the package & offered a variety of hot & cold items, fresh fruit & the traditional Spanish selection of ham & cheeses. Drinks included freshly squeeze orange juice, milk, water, selection of tea & coffee. The grounds were well kept except for the outdoor pool that needed attention & cleaning. It was quiet with only a handful of guests checked in. Parking is complimentary & available on site.
I would not recommend this property to others because of the poor/lack of customer service we received from the staff, especially at the front desk. Breakfast staff was unfriendly & acknowledges guest AFTER they have been acknowledged first! Washcloths were missing from the guestroom bathroom & there was no "hotel book/compendium" that lists hotel service #'s, information on amenities, hours of operations etc. Staff was not available late at night to assist with guest calls (phone kept ringing unanswered) We arrived late in the evening after sightseeing, checking in prior in the afternoon & was rudely stopped in our tracks enroute to our guestroom, by the front desk agent to be told that "It is impossible for us to stay together" as our booking reservation was only for two adults & we have our two young children (ages 6 & 2) with us. We mentioned that the superior room can easily hold a maximum occupancy of 4 people in the guestroom with our two young children sleeping in the bed with us. The front desk agent proceeded to argue & sell us another room for our two young children to sleep in which we are not willing to do. We asked to speak to the Manager on Duty who was not available or on site. The agent had to contact a Manager offsite (apologizing profusely for bothering "him" @ such a late hour but seem perfectly ok inconveniencing a guest/customer while the "situation" is resolved!) We finally spoke to Mr. Jameson, at this point our two young children are passed out on the sofas in the public lounge after a long day of travelling & explained the absurdity of the situation. He accommodated our two young children at no additional cost to stay with us in the guestroom. The situation was resolved within a few minutes after speaking to Mr. Jameson, after much inconvenience to our family & young children. The whole incident could have been handled better & differently.
the general look of the structure, modern ,clean, with some arabian echoes. the restaurant in the patio, the comfortable beds, the quiet location.
i had my car damaged in the parking. a girl at the reception promised sending me some information about, after checking the camera recordings, but she didn't. better not to promise!!
Stylish decor with a great blend of traditional and modern furnishing make the hotel a pleasure to be in and around. Great swimming pool with plenty of loungers and umbrellas on the surrounding grass. Add the fabulous breakfast and the friendly helpful staff and this becomes the place you want to return to. Perfect quiet location on the edge of the village with restaurants and bars but just a short drive to shopping centres, beaches and mountain "white" villages. Ample free parking plus the option of secure garage at extra cost makes it easy for drivers. One week was not enough!
Nothing to dislike. Everything exceeded my expectations.
Friendly staff willing to help you in any situation.
Where was the pool?
The staff very helpful the facilities are excellent the breakfast was excellent nothing was too much trouble
- Nice location. You can see the nationalpark and hear a lot of birds - Nice pool area - Loved the Oekotex towels - good choice for Health and the Environment! - It was no problem walking to the hotel from the Railway station. - Great staff in the reception
Not a family friendly hotel! - we had to pay 12 euro extra for a baby cot for a 3 year old child who sleeps in our bed anyway. For children 2-6 years old there should be an option to stay for free if sleeping in same bed as parents. - nothing for children to do (except for the pool)
Large comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Easy parking. Nice places to eat outside and nice pool area.
On the whole it was comfortable, but lacks character and authenticity. It's the middle of nowhere.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and presentable with a lovely swimming pool, garden, eating area, reception and the rooms were roomy, clean and a good size. All in all really pleased with our choice of hotel, would recommend to friends & family and hopefully revisit soon.
Would have been nice to have a kettle and cup's, so that we could of made tea in our room at night.
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The location was quiet and peaceful. A good breakfast was served.
Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room.
The hotel was well placed for a wedding we were attending. Front office personnel were charming and helpful.
Breakfast was O.K. but dinner not so good.
Stylish hotel rooms and a beautiful garden around the building. Convenient lobby and dining room.
Restaurant services were far away from the level, what we've used to, in a four star hotel. From 10 am to 8 pm there're no restaurant services at all. Not even in the lobby. Dinner has to be picked up from three alternatives of the menu (all meat). There were no a la carte available. The portions were made of frozen, mainly factory made components, which were served with out any sauce or proper seasoning. All restaurant products were overpriced. During our first morning up there, there were nobody serving the breakfast. All tables were full of dirty dish, and so on...We may put it so, that there were no service at all. The hotel is worth of visiting but the restaurant not.
limpio, acogedor, buena recepción
Everything was absolutly fabulous , especilally the small orange tree garden from the inside of the hotel.
The hole staff should speak english , especially the night receptionist !
The waiter for dinner and breakfast was excellent, a lovely guy. Comfortable bed. Good room size. Good interior design throughout the hotel. Free wifi.
The bathroom was not clean. The bath had a crack in it which had been poorly repaired. The shower hose was broken and we had to ask for a replacement which took the whole day. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. When we arrived despite there being a room with a garden view available we were given a room overlooking the car park and we had to ask to be moved. During quiet times a guest should be offered the best room available.
