We had our own terrace with a beautiful view over Malaga. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a delight. We couldn't get any English stations on the television but to be honest this wasn't really a problem for us.
Breakfast was served in the castle
This is not a hotel. It's a castle with bed and breakfast.
I loved the view and the surroundings. Very peaceful, quiet and romantic.
Absolutely loved this hotel ! So romantic and full of character ! Staff were really helpful, it's a bit too far to walk to city centre but a taxi was only 6 euros ! Recommend for a long weekend break .
Lovely old house now a charming and spacious 8 bedroom hotel. Very comfortable and tranquil, yet not too far from Malaga centre. Great room, lovely gardens and wonderful staff.
No restaurant (so had to go out for dinner). Some furnishings are getting a bit "tired", but that still adds to the ambiance.
views breakfast mattress size of bathroom setting car parking
out of date room information lack of advertised UK TV channels no porter service noise from adjoining bed rooms - you could here the neighbours unzipping their luggage and their conversation
The views from our terrace
The fact that a taxi was needed to get to the centre of town at night
couldn`t thing of anything else but the she-receptionist who messed it all up extremely past the point of no retun; AND she ISN`T sorry; glad to know such persona exist there too;
1) hotwater tank is classic & outdated, too small a capacity (some 100liters per day). obviously not enough! 2) airconditioning is classical & far below the needed capacity; perhaps good for kennel only! and the claims of such necessities as above had been flatly denied; worse yet we had to move out since we insisted; man, she crossed the point!
The staff are really nice and helpful. They helped us to make reservation in a really good restaurant for the new year eve. Our room with a huge balcony is awesome. Although, it's a little bit far from the city centre(30 minutes walking distance), the quartier is really nice and worth to explore.
A hotel full of character and rustic charm. The grounds of the hotel were full of magic and history and the rooms were spacious, ours with a lovely view of the city. Even though situated on the outskirts of Malaga it was only a 20 minute walk to the city centre.
There was no social activity even though the hotel was apparently fully booked, could have done with a proper bar and restaurant.
This was one hotel that truly gives you value for the money. The setting is an old fortress and castle. Although the hotel does not boast luxurious or flawless furnishings it's old world charm is quite enjoyable and adequate. Room number 3 was spacious and comfortable. The gardens provided a breathtaking and relaxing view of the sea and aesthetically pleasing landscaping. All of the personnel were very eager to please and quite helpful. The breakfast was generous and they made omelets to order. It was located pretty centrally for those whom have rented a car. For those that don't want to drive, a taxi ride into the center costs around 6-7 Euros.
The wifi could have been a bit faster but it was adequate for reading e-mail and other activities not requiring large bandwidth. This is an old building so you may here some strange noises from, for example, the plumbing. That didn't bother us though since we are not superstituous.
romantic building, beautiful gardens, big bathroom, beautiful views
long walk to old town (bus & taxi obviously also possible but we felt like walking), some problems with the wifi
Stunning setting close to beach and local facilities. Lovely suite with full range toiletries.
Being woken up every 20 minutes by the friendly ghost shaking my bed. Electrics were a little hit and miss.
It's quite an experience to stay in a castle. The rooms are huge and authentic. Large continental breakfast spread.
Staff were amazing Room size was great Very clean and good quality fittings
wonderful gardens, great sea view. really nice and helpful staff. free parking!
Comfortable &charming hotel. Receptionist very helpful. Tranquil &relaxing but close enough to the City.
No English language TV programmes -problem with satellite??
The setting and sense of peace and the high level of comfort.
The breakfast could have been better!
superb old building well converted to a small hotel
Our short but sweet stay at this magical "villa" (to quote another reviewer) was our first stop in Spain and possibly the highpoint. The understated luxury was out of another century. Perhaps to others it would not be slick and modern enough but it is exactly what I look for while traveling. The view is spectacular and the quiet gardens were truly enchanting.
Too bad we were only there for one night! I would have loved to lounge in the gardens and terraces for another night at least.
sea view from our window!
wrong lable to point a wrong direction to the hotel
Beautiful located. View on Málaga lovely decorated. Room in suite stunning. Breakfast very good
+ Wonderful hotel, which is in an old castle with a lovely garden & terrace + Great views over Malaga + 5 minute walk to the beach + Beautiful and large bath room + Very comfortable bed + Wifi was very good (never cut out) + Nice breakfast in one of the drawing rooms (very grand!).
- The room smelled a bit of moth balls (or strong detergent or similar), but we opened the window and got rid of it quickly. - 30 minute walk into the centre of town (10 minutes by bus or taxi)
A beautiful hotel with exceptional views out across Malaga. We have stayed here twice, in different rooms, and each room has its own style. Very comfortable, quiet and peaceful, and the roof terrace is amazing but whilst it's shared between rooms it's big enough to feel as though it's your own private terrace. Gardens are beautiful and secluded. Just a ten minute walk down to the sea-front where there are a selection of bars and a SuperSol at the bottom of the hill. A really lovely place to stay.
