Fitness room not working

The location was good and the spa wa good

Didn't get explained about the fitness centre and spa where it was located and that we needed a different key. Rang up to ask about if and all we were told was it was on ground floor, had to walk around trying to find it and then key wouldn't work as we needed another one.

Location is superb...

Rooms via booking.com are with no view or view to wall.

Great location! Room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Our room does not have a view as it is facing a tiny lightwell, but it is welcoming quiet even the property is on Gran Via. WIFI is good, except you need to enter password every time.

Great central location, a minute to the metro stattion. Very close to many interesting places. We've got a quiet inner room. The room is spacious and clean. Good bed, good matress. Bathrooom amenities. Good cleaning, white towels. What I particularly liked was the jacuzzy bath in the bathroom. Wi-fi connection was stable and good enough to check emails or browse internet. Good breakfasts. We we glad to use the promotion (breakfasts at 10 euro, buffet-style). There is an internet corner (two computers) free of charge, that was good to check timetables, flight check-in, etc. Nice restaurant, menu del dia available.

The pillows were most disappointing, in contrast to the bed. Thick and so hard, pain in the neck. The room requires minor refurbishments. In order to have the safe lock and key, you have to return to the front desk and get it under a deposit of 20 euros. Would be great if the front desk personnel suggested the guests should take the lock/key at check-in. Too few English channels on TV (I only managed to find BBC News).

Location location location. Good breakfast. Nice hot tub and sauna.

The English of the stuff was not good. When we arrived one of the crew explained to us about the superior room, that it is the only room that has double bed and not 2 separate beds. I don't believe that this is the situation and if so, it should be reflected in the hotel page here.

staff was very cold, and not helpful to the changing of our booking felt as if we were over charged for a "deluxe" room when someone had to sleep on a couch each night and we were charged an extra 30 euros a night for this

Position is good for sight seeing and stuffs were friendly. Bath tub was comfortable. Cost was reasonable.

Pillow was terrible. Floor was damaged and was need to repaire(515). WiFi was unstable and slow at busy time.

Madrid is a beautiful ciy and the Catalonia Gran Via is a lovely hotel. We stayed in a junior suite which was perfect and very quiet. The staff were very friendly and polite.

upon my booking I requested "fluffy pillows" however my pillow was hard. but they changed it!!

Corridors leading to the rooms are a bit dated; Reception desk is manned only by one person at a time; tv in room had almost exclusively Spanish channels; No tea/coffee-making facilities in room

Breakfast was good selection.It was along Gran Via, so location was great! Staff was friendly.

It would be nice if extra pillows were available in room.

This hotel needs retrofit, its aged and doesnt belong to the four stars category at the moment

We were visiting our Daughter in Madrid to celebrate wife's Birthday so chose a small suite with Pool...In March not practical!!! However in Spring would be great with small outdoor Patio and plunge pool. Close to all central amenities, room at back of Hotel, No View, but QUIET. Good value and had an unexpected Bottle of celebratory CAVA from the Management, complimentary!

Breakfast was good, junior suite good, staff very friendly and location excellent. Generally the staff were very helpful and courteous. Gran Via is the perfect location for Madrid's many attractions. Would stay at Catalonia again.
