Catalonia Park Güell

I noticed a few positive reviews, so I chose this hotel because of that, but it turned out to be a big dissapointment. A nice hot shower wasn't possible. The shower had a small trickle of water which was more cold than lukewarm. Besides, it took 5 minutes before it turned from cold to lukewarm. The second day we noticed that the toilet hadn't been cleaned under the seat. There was not enough light in the bathroom. The room was too small for a two people and both beds were nothing more than uncomfortable creaky camping beds. There was damp and mold (humidity spots) on the ceiling surrounded by peeling paint. The small heater had too much air in it and made noise during the night and in the morning you could clearly hear all the street noise. The distance to the lively part of Gracia or to the old town was too large. The wifi was there, in a sense that we could connect to the router, but connecting to the internet was impossible (dns errors and other errors). At reception there are 2 pc's where you can logon for 10 minutes for 2 Euro's, but also this is a rip off because the internet is extremely slow and the many java script errors were preventing me from getting anywhere.

Very noisy rooms. Walls are paper thin and you can hear adjoining room conversations and outside traffic.

Staff extremely helpful and polite. Location was quite good, not far from Park Guell and only a short walk to the metro. Bus nearby also. Room was fine, bathroom was clean. Accommodation prices in Barcelona are not cheap, so Park Guell reasonable I think, however I thought breakfast and meals/drinks were expensive, so worth considering having a late breakfast/early lunch and coffee in the city and going out again for a meal later when the city comes alive !

I booked the hotel for 4 nights, but escaped after the first one. Due to Barcelona holiday they raised price 3 times, but could not offer a free safe!! (The safe was, by the way, old with a huge key given at the reception). Doors and wardrobes are old. The bar looks like a canteen. In the neighbourhood there were not a single place to drink coffee!! Streets were completely deserted. I will never ever stay at this place again.

Staff was polite.

The terrasa was closed. Cleanless was mimimum, did not wash the floor. Location -far away from metro. wi fi very slowly, only in lobby/

- Spacious room - very good, big, comfortable bed - very helpful staff with good english - good overall room coditions

- Good tv channell selection but not for english speakers - you can hear noises from other rooms and terrace being remodelled - old style noisy AC low over the floor by the side of the bed blowing air straight on the people lying on the bed - additional cost for the use of a safe deposit box located in the room - good food stores, bars and backery/caffe around but no proper restaurant

The hotel located at the top of the hill, has many places and stores near it at the foot of the hill. There you can buy your necessities easily and even have breakfast for under 5 euros

There was no refigerator

The staff were lovely...when the electricty went we were moved to a sister hotel. The park suite. That was amazing. Both are very far out. Pay the extra money for a hotel in the center. We spent loads on taxis

Located in a residencial area, very calm, no traffic noise, close to a metro station of the green line which can take you to the city centre in less than 10 minutes. Room with bathroom very clean, with tv but no minibar. In the last day, we check-out but they kept our luggage for free during the day (a normal procedure for them). This was great as we could visit Park Guell, which is nearby, without having to take our luggage with us.

The room had a bad internet wireless connection. It was difficult to connect to the net as the signal was very low (the room was located on one end of the building). But in the living room, downstairs in the main hall, it was possible to connect easily.

Hotel is a great value for cheap trip (as weeked stay). Reception - ok, room was clean and nice.

The only minus is that u hear everything what people do and say in neighbouhood rooms.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was right. My boyfriend and I stayed in 5 different hotels in a span of ten days, and this hotel was by far our favorite. It was clean, spacious, right for its price, and just a short walk from the metro station.

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel.

A very very good place to stay.

Location - very close to the center and generally nice part of the city.

The hotel needs generally renovation, the bathroom looks old, but still works fine. No free Wi-Fi, payment on arrival.
