View from the balcony was spectacular. You could see entire barcelona. Location very good. Close to metro and quiet area Itd missleeding to see 4 stars where actually should be around 2,5 but it does not matter that painting on the walls is not fresh. Location and price is worth it.

Noisy neighbours (apparently this hotel receives big groups of foreigners: mine were italian teenagers). It has nothing of a 4 star hotel (max 2+1/2 = not even 3)

I really did not enjoy staying at this hotel. The only good thing for me was the location, as I needed to be in this part of town. But for people who are going to Barcelona on holiday, I'd recommend a hotel closer to the center or to the metro (the closest station is about a 10min walk). Why this is a four star hotel I will never understand! It deserves two, three stars at best. Terrible staff - unhelpful, condescending and generally acted as though I owed them for staying at the hotel. Check in was incredibly slow and they managed to charge me for an extra night that I wasn't staying at the hotel. Although sorted in my favor in the end, it added to the general unpleasantness. The cleaning service was not good, and I would often find my things moved around the room. To be served at the snack bar you need to go to the reception and ask for the waiter to come around. Also, the room itself was old. It needs to be refurnished. There is no mini bar and no refrigerator in the room. Although placed on a quiet residential street, you get plenty of noise from the neighboring rooms through the thin walls and you can hear every detail of conversations in the bathroom through the vent. Also, when I needed to continue my stay for an extra night, the staff at the reception told me that they were fully booked, but having checked online there were plenty of rooms available. Overall - a terrible hotel, I do not recommend this to anyone, which is surprising since other Catalonia Hotels I've stayed at are quiet good.

The best thing about the Catalonia Park Putxet Hotel was the breakfast. Although not included in the initial price the buffet was worth the extra money. Other than that, the hotel was clean but because I was there on a business trip I didn't really enjoy any more of it thus I cannot comment on it. The staff was somewhat friendly but the receptionists didn't really give a good impression as they were a little too forward edging to be rude at some points. Also the wait at the reception was somewhat extended for no apparent reason.

The location was close to a metro station, so that was convenient. The balcony was nice. Also, the breakfast buffet was delicious and inexpensive. We enjoyed that the community surrounding the hotel were made up of locals. Away from the city center, the rooms are fairly small and the restaurant is limited with selections.

Check in was quick, considering it was very late and the guy was alone, he did well and was efficient. The breakfast was far too busy. Hard to get a table. Coffee was really bad, for a 4-star hotel. The staff running the breakfast apologized and were working very hard, it's just a capacity problem, or so it seemed to me.

Not much.....but i will give it four stars for rudeness! Why this hotel has 4 stars on the front door is one of Spains great unsolved mysteries. It is 2 star at best. It is run down, dated and very noisey. You can clearly hear toilet noises through the walls. There was a budget british Contiki tour group staying on our floor which confirms that this is more of a upmarket hostel than a quality hotel. The electric door keys dont work most times and the bathroom water did not always work. Worst of all, the female front desk supervisor was easily the rudest and least helpful person we have met in 4 months travelling in Europe. Everything from first check in to asking simple directions resulted in sneering and cynical eye rolling. Rude, rude, rude. This is 2 star service at 4 star prices. Look elsewhere! See above

Reasonable location, room had a balcony, staff at reception were very friendly. Some staff spoke no English whatsoever, which is ridiculous in a hotel. Room cleanliness was only reasonable - sheets smelled of smoke from the previous resident. Door to the balcony in our room was broken, although it was half-fixed by the staff.

I must say that I appreciated everyone for the Ostnpart speaking English. Housekeeping was very accommodating with our late mornings and we ways returned home to a clean room even if we did not leave it until 4pm. Also, my favorite employy was the night bartender. He was the most plesant and usually available. He spoke only a little English but it did not cause a problem. In fact he taught me some Spanish! The staff would often seem too preoccupied with their own agenda to help or serve their guests. I would often find the daytime bartender hanging out at the front desk with those employees and unaware of my presence. I had to leave multiple times to take my food and drink orders to local restaurants. I also felt as if I was inconveniencing them should I ever need anything. It was a nice place to sleep but don't expect more than that.

I stayed at this hotel for three weeks ish, from June 2nd to the 27th. It was located above Gran de Gracia, which is above Passeig de Gracia, which was a bit of a hike, and the last bit was very steep uphill. Having said this, there was a metro station very close, Lessops station, and taxi's are fairly cheap in Barcelona. It gave me an excuse to get some much needed exercise. The room was typical european but a bit larger, bathroom huge, all marble, which is very prevalent in Barcelona, and I was fortunate enough to get a room with a small terrace - there are only five such rooms and I would highly recommend that the next traveller who stays there request this type of room. I spent many happy hours reading and getting some sun on my terrace. I would definately recommend this hotel as a cheaper option to the other more central hotels in Barcelona. Breakfast buffet was typically Catalan, meaning alot of cheese and meat and sunny side up eggs floating in grease. Yum..! Not for the diet conscious, but they did have ceareal, etc and all for about 7.50 eruos. Good deal really. I am having a hard time coming up with a complaint, but have one that isn't related to the hotel as such - when you order a taxi to the hotel, as its a bit out of the way, they can charge you an additional 4.10 euros for the service. I was only charged this once - my recommendation is to spellbind the driver with you Spanish ability - they love that - even if its terrible. As I said, I only paid this once and the driver was from Pakistan... Go figure. Otherwise, no complaints. Very good value for money.

If you want to get away from the noise and traffic of Barcelona central this is a nice quiet place to stay. It is an east 10 min walk from the Metro and just 3 stops to get you to downtown to Catalunya Plaza and las Ramblas. This main metro line also takes you to the Espanya stop which has the Magic Fountain, the night show you do not want to miss! The cp Putxet hotel is tucked away in a quiet residential area and 1/2 block from an Excellent Italian Restaurant! The room I had was quite spacious, beds comfortable enough, marble and dark green granite tile bathroom roomy and clean. The day I arrived lots of mattresses were being moved out and replaced so that should be even more comfort in those rooms. Lots of tours use this hotel. The staff spoke English well and were very helpful with finding places on the map I wanted to see and recommending things. The price was right too. Also they serve an excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast for 7.50 Eu that kept me going until dinner time! Air conditioning worked well. As as a senior woman traveling alone I felt safe here. The Free Wifi was important for me. I wanted to see Gaudi's Parc Quell which is nearby to walk to if you are fit as it is an up hill climb with several outside escalators help you along. All stairs coming back down. I was not expecting too much after reading some of the reviews. It was certainly adequate and comfortable enough and rate reasonable but I would say comparing to other hotels I have stayed at I would put it at a 3 not a 4 star hotel. A new paint job in the halls would give a much better first impression.

The room was large and well appointed with a mini fridge, free WiFi, good shower - large bathroom in fact with both a bath and a separate shower. Lots of storage for clothes and a large working surface for the computer etc... Good buffet breakfast an an affordable price. All in all, good value for money. The hotel was short staffed when we stayed there which resulted in a message not being passed from one desk clerk to another about the fact that the lights were left on for our car which was in the parking garage... For which we were paying a good fee. Also, the snack bar was under-staffed and the only food on offer was pizza.
