The location was great for sightseeing. The apt was comfortable & one room even had a view of the Cathedral. I did not receive E-mail check-in instructions from the hotel after making my reservation. This caused problems for us because I made the mistake of going directly to the location of the apt. When we got to the apt, there was no way to figure out where we needed to go to check in. (No sign or instructions, no map, no contact info to reach the check-in desk.) After waiting with luggage on the street for a while, a waiter at a nearby restaurant noticed that we had a problem and he brought me to the check-in location several blocks away. Even though the apt, itself was fine & the location was great, I feel that our experience at check- in was unacceptable. (After we check in, I looked again at the E-mail msg from booking.com confirming the reservation. In the middle of the long E-mail msg was one sentence, "Please note that all check-in takes place at the Hotel Reina Cristina, at 4 Calle Tablas." In my opinion, the apt/hotel should send check in instructions by Email. Also, I think that there should be a sign at the apt door stating the check-in location.)

Terrible, my worst hotel experience in 60 years. We looked for hours to find someone to open the principle door for us and give us the keys. We had to drag our bags all this time. The taxi did not know where to drop us. We are old people and would recommend this hotel
