Staff are friendly
Old bulding and lots of nuise around
A small place in an excellent location - think of it of a huge apartment with lots of space, both shared and private. A great place to get close to the city quickly, both physically (great location in town, really!), and in terms of getting in contact with the great staff (well, "hosts" might be a better word) and fellow travelers. Oh, and great eye for little details. Great coffee! (How far am I into my 200 characters...?) Need a student neighborhood? Turn left, left again, across the street and you're there. Old town? Same, walk a bit further, and you're there. Fancy food places? Head right and straight. Anything else? Short walks to main metro lines.
We did like it. Full stop. You might not be perfectly happy if you look for anonymity and distance to staff and travelers, or if you are looking for a pool and a spa.
service breakfast place
Great Location, great staff, fantastic property. Proper one on one attention from staff, very relaxed atmosphere and in a brilliant location. Room was great, breakfast very good. All in all brilliant.
Nothing at all.....
The most comfortable and cheapset accomodation I've been during my Spain holiday. Really lovely staff! Great location too. Would definitely stay there again when I visit Barcelona again.
The location was very convenient
It really seemed more like a guesthouse or a hostel, not a boutique hotel. Building entrance was dark and dingy, room was ok but a bit pokey, breakfast was pretty mediocre and entirely self-service. It's all fine if you know what you are getting, but the photos and the price lead you to expect much more than the reality.
Staff were brilliantly helpful. The hotel was always perfectly clean and welcoming, and the WiFi was flawless. The location was perfect, nestled between the old and new cities. The breakfast was small, but had just about everything we'd ever need. The shared space, with a dining room and courtyard, was a beautiful, tastefully-furnished sunny haven.
Some other guests complained about the rooms. Our [internal] room was small and somewhat dark - however it was perfect for our needs, and had an excellent bathroom. Other [external] rooms face the street and were apparently prone to street noise, but that's a small issue with what is otherwise a beautiful place to stay.
Very friendly helpful attitudes of staff Slightly whacky setting and attitudes Quality of basic services
It was all good
Good location and well connected. Cozy public area. Nice terrace. Overall, good value for money.
The location close to metros and passeig de Gracia. The staff were keen to be helpful (e.g. warning everyone about the disruptions on 11 Sept. Nice to be able to make a drink at anytime and making your own pancakes for breakfast was fun. Wifi easy to use. Also gave spare set of keys to the hotel so we could get back in and retrieve our luggage after checking out.
We felt it needed fresh bread for breakfast (not just sliced) and for some shade in the breakfast room. Some things (e.g. hair dryers) you had to get by asking at the desk but as there wasn't anyone their in the evenings (or part of the day) it was difficult to access these 'extras'. Balcony v small.
The hotel is located in walking distance to many of the attractions of Barcelona. And if you like to walk around you can easily go to la Sagrada Familia, the Rambla,Borne and so on. The area feels very secure and there is both restaurants, bars, nightlife and a vast variety of gay bars, clubs and shops just outside the door. The staff is one of the kindest and most helpful I have ever experienced!
There was some nights with noise from the street - but it is to be expected in a large city on weekends.
Clean, excellent location & facilities, helpful & friendly staff :) Would definitely recommend!!!
Location Staff Availability of snacks and hot drinks Opportunity to stay in small personal hotel
Poor ventilation bathroom
Beautifully situated for all major attractions. Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again
Very friendly staff, great position, walking distance to everything
The staff was very helpful. They cooked a variety of food every morning which helped a lot. Great way to start each day. The location was perfect. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
- The smell of the bed sheets and the towels were weird !! I guess it's the softener which they are using, i literally couldn't sleep properly because of that strong smell !! - They should have a late check out, i booked a superior room and still didn't get any late check out which was absolutely unfair.
Staff and breakfast
Area of the room narrow compared to what he wrote in the site, I think it is an area of the room with bathroom As well as the room bleak and uncomfortable and the price is not compatible with the apartment
Being our first time in Barcelona, Cien Boutique Hotel defiantly lived up to our expectations. It's welcoming staff members making our stay as comfortable and fresh as possible, offering so much advice on great places to check out. Their added extra of providing a free breakfast was such a delightful surprise. It's in a great location and in walking distance to touristy cites, metro links etc. a definite must stay if you're adventuring to Barcelona. Great place!! Thank you :)
Location, staff and all the added extras which makes Cien seem like a home from home. Great communal areas for breakfast and brilliant pancakes! :)
It was a perfect week for a couple! The rooms is very romantic and the place is in the middle Of centrum, with good restaurant! We will differently come back
I liked service and help of one receptionist (girl) who helped to contact the airport and sea port for our next destination and luggage delivery to hotel.
I did not like the bathroom facilities, they were horrible. At night the streets were crowded with people that annoyed me. The hotel is for sure not for couples with kids. And also, GUESTS SHOUD BE NOTIFIED THAT THERE ARE NO RECEPTIONIST AFTER 7 PM, which is kind of weird and inconvenient should you have any queries.
The proximity to the centre of Barcelona
A room without windows The colour grey everywhere The price! I was shocked.
The staff was great and accomodating. And allowed me to leave my bag even after my check out.
I couldn't watch any english channels.
