Hotel Conde Luna    

The location was excellent. Just steps from the Barrio Humedo and the Cathedral.

When we drove up to the building, we noticed the exterior was dirty an unkept. The rooms were dated, dusty and in desperate need of new decor and flooring. Our room, on the 8th floor, had linoleum flooring and it was full of scuff marks. The extra bed for our daughter looked like it belonged in an infirmary. Our friends stayed on the 3rd floor, and their room was also dated and dirty, except it had wood flooring. In no way is this a four star hotel. We give it two stars, at best.

A very good 4* hotel. A few minutes walk to the Cathedral and numerous bars/ restaurants. If with car a 24hr underground car park close by.

My second visit to Leon and I returned to the Conde Luna again - simple fantastic.

For the purpose of my visit the hotel was was adequate but would not stay there again. Felt the hotel was a bit dated more suited to bus trips. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

The breakfast was a bit limited and the head man in the restaurant could smile a bit more. The same for the man in the snack bar/bar I stood waiting while he finished off what he was doing then he decided to serve me thought that was very rude, he could have at least acknowledged me, not a smile from him also.

I had a single room on the sixth floor but it was big with a double bed, a very nice bathroom with bath and shower, lots of hot water - a not overpriced minibar, a TV, a desk and a chair and a balcony. An excellent room, breakfast included and that was excellent too at a cost of only about 50 euros a night. Very central in the city maybe 10 minutes walk to the cathedral one way and 20 minutes the other way to the bus and railway stations.

The included wifi was very poor in the bedrooms but on the ground floor and in the bar worked well and was free. The pay TV was not working and no one seemed very interested in getting it fixed.

Communications service were poor quality. They charge my credit card inmediately.

Good location between rail station (10-12 mins walk) and central sights of Leon. I only stayed one night mostly to see the Cathedral. Did not take breakfast there (who does at these prices?). Room was large and comfortable and bathroom ditto. Good wifi. Although it was a Saturday (and inevitably a wedding party on) this did not affect me at all (on 4th flr), unlike other comments (reception told me they were 'nice' people!). Good solid value for the price. All the people at reception I spoke to had more than reasonable English.

A great location, close to the bus or train station but also to all the sights in Leon. The reception couldn´t have been more helpful when I was trying to activate my Orange Sim card. She stayed with me for 40 minutes while they put me on hold waiting to find out what to do next. This was really beyond the call of duty.

Couldn´t regulate the temperature in the room...there is a thermostat but it didn´t work. It was hot and stuffy but I could open the window so not such a problem.

Prices at the cafe bar were very much more expensive than those in other bars/cafes in the town.

The garage was very cramped and I suspect I got a dent in my car there.

We unfortunately arrived when there were two weddings at the hotel. We had booked a non smoking room but were given a smoking one. The receptionist was very good as he was under enormous pressure and seemed to be on his own. We got a better, non smoking room. However the smoke was so bad outside the room we had to put a bath towel at the bottom of the door as you could see as well as smell it coming through. Fireworks till 4.30 am!!!! Rooms felt dated and tired.

It would help if the front desk personal could speak English better.

We had a very large room with very large bathroom. Despite the small windows, it was very sunny. Despite the proximity with the elevator, we heard no noise because the room is appart of the of the main corridor. No noise despite the wedding party occuring in the hotel. Hotel is very close to the cathedral and bar/rstaurants/shopping streets. Several bars nearby the hotel propose simple and very cheap desayunos. I was allowed a 2pm late check-out, allowing me to finish a few business calls.

Twin beds instead of double bed. I didn t want to try neither the breakfast, nor any meal because of the prices (around 40€ for a meal). Staff service was inequal. Depending on the people at the front desk, you could have very helpful and polite staff, or a bit rude ones. Iron were provided upon request, but they were travel irons, probably left from previous travelers. No ironing board were provided :/

Hotel staff could not speak English or did not try to understand Italian, which sometime works.

Que a las 8,30 me despertara el ruido ensordecedor de martillazos y taladros. Me dijeron en recepcion que estaban de obras...
