Great location but you need a car to explore as very hilly area. Breakfast was delicious. Staff very helpful
Fantastic view, very nice interior and antiques. Personnel are warm and friendly. Breakfast is great.
Was closing next day for winter and some of the areas a bit tired
Location great and quiet but drive into town if you want to eat out. Staff good.
Breakfast was a bit disjointed as there were 2 areas where food was available and the layout meant that you needed to move from one to the other to get what you needed, also if you wanted to eat on the terrace there was quite a long walk and steps to negotiate to carry your breakfast. Perhaps in the height of the season breakfast is laid out on the terrace?
Atmospheric position and facilities
Access to car park via a rocky track.
Excellent food in hotel restaurant Excellent Service from friendly staff Very comfortable large bed Peaceful, beautiful surroundings
Beautiful hotel near to a lovely beach. Good breakfast and nice hotel staff.
Wine selection not superior.
Had an excellent stay at Hotel Convent. We know the area well. We'd stay here again. Exceptional staff.
Pool could have been bigger, only 10 metres. Mossies in sep-take repellent! No sea view, but nice valley view.
Great position, lovely treed outlook, cool gladed grounds, on site car park shaded by trees, superb fill range breakfast, well priced michelin rated restaurant. Brilliant free wi fi. Few minutes walk to sea and other restaurants
Bathroom is small and not up to standard of the room and rest of hotel. Dining area a bit small for breakfast. Quick drive to Bergur but too far to walk and taxi quite expensive.
Beautifully converted old convent with lots of character in nice grounds and surroundings with lovely pool area. Peaceful and relaxing. Lovely good sized room. Restaurant good and reasonable priced supurb food. Ate here each evening. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to the beach.
Lonely Heavy atmosphere
Room needed airing, slight damp feeling ,maybe expected in a building of this age? Menu doesn't vary which is ok for a few nights stay but could be limiting for longer stays, a few specials would help
Location/location/location! Very relaxing stay Good value food and drink Attentive staff Restaurant food excellent quality Beautiful views and walk to beach
If you want a hotel to ease down and enjoy the pals-begur area no need to look further
restaurant and breakfast wifi

Bed was a little uncomfortable.
Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Short pleasant walk to beach. Nice breakfast. Great gin and tonics!
Need to drive or get free shuttle to get to town Rooms a little on the small side
Good location - short walk to the beach Lovely design and beautiful grounds Excellent food Swimming pool Peaceful quiet atmosphere Free shuttle service to beach / town
I was quite disappointed by our room. The floor had a wet area in front of the bed, and to keep bad smells away they had a device diffusing a horrible scent. I think it was to expensive given the above.
Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Beautiful Hotel, beautifully clean. Xavier made it his business to make each customer happy in the bar and in the restaurant. He tirelessly and professionally works all day, they are very lucky to have him in their employ.
The room we took was for three (tow adults and extra bed for a child), but it was very small for three people. The walls were too thin, and people using toilet and show located in the neighboring room just behind the wall did not let us sleep in the morning. The service was quite poor. It was usual thing not to find laid tables for the breakfast or no scrambled eggs in the morning. Twice during our 6 day stay we had to ask to make up our room as it was not done till 3 p.m. All this did not match our expectations for the 4 star hotel which charge 300 Euro for a day for three people (including breakfast).
General concept of the hotel (old building with a chapel) and location was great, quality of meals was excellent, especially dinners!
the calm, nature, the style of the house
noise from corridor at night from late arrivals can be disturbing
Very relaxing atmosphere welcoming and helpful staff very efficient air conditioning excellent breakfast closeness to beach
We ate once in the restaurant and that was enough. The menu was not impressive. The food was practically cold and not as tastefull as you would expect. the restaurant was sober (in line with the hotel), but the bar gives you a warmer feeling. You would expect the same for the restaurant.
the room was spacious (also because they gave us a free upgrade to a suite), clean and beautifull (but the view was a roof). the pool is not to big (but therefore with pleasantly warm water, prefect since very few outside pools are heated). the pool area is beautifuly and lined with trees and quiet the hotel ambiance is perfect if you like quiet and with a nice scenery. You will get rested. the staff is very friendly, although sometimes a bit grumpy (I was once 5' late for breakfast and the were already cleaning everything. They were at first not amused, but recovered quickly and gave me what I wanted (which wasn't much).
Walkable to village in the day if fit and well as it is a very steep climb but not suitable to walk to Begur at night unless you have a head torch as little lighting on route and bends on road not the safest to walk. There is a route off road but you would need torches for this. Hotel tended to play bland soul/ R and B during breakfast and evening meal - much better to be playing local Catalan/Spanish music and build on the fantastic atmosphere of the old monastery and the historic connection between Begur and Cuba reflected in the town's architecture and cultural activities. Make sure you pack insect repellent if by the pool in the evening. Wi-Fi on the slow side.
atmospheric building in lovely grounds, excellent food eg monkfish with truffles, excellent breakfast, good staff, shuttle bus if needed to town and local beaches, small gym, sauna, 10 min walk from beach. 15 -20 min walk to Begur a lively town with some really good food and nice vibe. Quiet once evening dinner service is over. excellent mojitos.
Claustophobic small rooms, no wifi
There is nothing to not like!
The hotel is a beautiful building on a lush green hillside. The facilities are exquisite and staff very friendly. Meals are amongst the best we had in Spain and the attention to detail at the hotel is superb. Within 10 minutes walk of the beach or an easy drive to other beaches and Begur - there's even a courtesy bus. This is one of the best hotel experiences we have had in 25 years of travel.
If you need help with your luggage, you may need to ask, as assistance was not offered and there are multiple staircases.
Wonderful ambiance and relaxing hotel. Very clean and helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast and excellent lunch. The beach is close by and we easily walked there. The pool was great too.
