The hotel is an older property but it's clean, the rooms are more than adequate and the staff very friendly and professional. The best thing about it though is its location!!! In the old city, but on a quiet side street (a plus in this noisy area). It's a short half a block from Las Ramblas and Puerta del Angel, two branches of El Corte Ingles department stores, a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya, four short blocks from the Cathedral. Theatres, eateries, shops galore. You can buy the neatest Spanish fans at the shop downstairs and can walk almost anywhere.. But you can also catch one of the nonstop tour buses, a city bus or the subway at Plaza de Catalunya, less than two short blocks away. There's a cab stand on the corner, the airport is forty minutes away, the cruise port fifteen minutes away. They serve a light breakfast of coffee/tea, breads, cold cuts (blah ones), juice and yogurt and it's included in the price. This adjacent restaurant is a cheap eatery but it's convenient. I've already recommended it twice since I returned two days ago. They'll be using your service to book it; I found you reliable, flawless. You, too, exceeded expectations! We liked Hotel Cortes so much that we came back for a one night stay a week later. It met my expectations and the location well exceeded it! No complaints, no dislikes.

It was on Sta Ana, steps away from La Rambla and Bari Gotic, close to Catalunia Squere, from where buses go to the airport.

Superb location, within walking distance of some sites. Breakfast was good, room clean, good shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Good budget hotel and value for money. Only few minutes walk from bus stop from airport. Good location for La Rambla. Lots of restaurants close by. Metro and bus stops close by.

The friendly, helpful staff and the location of Hotel Cortes made our stay there enjoyable. The rooms were clean but simply furnished. Our room overlooked the court yard to an old church. Even though there was alot of pedestrian activity close to the hotel, we enjoyed a quiet atmosphere. We were very close to several good restaurants and a block from Catalunya Square. A nice continental breakfast was provided in the morning.

After obtaining our key from reception we took the lift to 1st floor. First impressions were not good as we were faced with clinical passageways and not even a picture to break up the walls. When our key failed to open what we thought was our room we made our way downstairs towards reception to find a very pleasing middle floor that housed the breakfast room, small tv lounge and landing with 3 "p" for premier? Rooms. Our key fitted and we were not disappointed with the room which had everything we expected including a small balcony overlooking c, Santa Anna below. I would definitely go back to this hotel again providing I knew we were staying in one of the premier rooms

Friendly staff and good service. The breakfast in the restaurant was continental and included in the price. Dinner at night was excellent value, a 3 course meal with coffee and bottle of wine for only 10 euros per person. Very close to Las Ramblas and shopping areas - ideally placed

Close to Las Ramblas, but not too noisy or crowded. Beds very comfy, room and bathroom clean. Staff helpful. Breakfast was in bar next door and wasn't brilliant, with sweet pastries and a roll with ham & cheese - but it was adequate and pretty standard for Spain.

Excellent position in the town centre. Nice walks. Towels changed every day. Fair value of money, but has the advantage of position. Breakfast was a plate made of one croissant, one bun (cheese and ham), biscuits (small packet), one coffee and one orange juice. Water is given on demand. Rooms must be cleaned under the beds.

Great location in the heart of Barcelona in a pleasant side street. Small and informal. I had stayed here before, 10 years ago, and this time was disappointed with the lack of investment - stair carpets badly needed replacement, and room decorations, furniture and bathrooms all in need of refurbishment - at least in the room I had. Front desk staff varied in attitude, and some staff training would not go amiss.

The location is the best thing, in the center, close to metro and buses. The street is well lit which makes a difference as some of these side streets from the rambla can be quite dark and unpleasant for women alone. The room was simple and clean. I had trouble with the noise. I could hear every doer opening or people passing out side the room and even telephones ringing from other rooms.

Friendly, comfortable hotel in a great location. Good value for money. An absolutely ideal base for a trip to explore Barcelona. They have a stupidly bureaucratic system whereby in order to get breakfast, you have to obtain a ticket from a member of staff, which you then give to another member of staff fifteen yards away. The breakfast itself is fine, though.

Very nice hotel located 2 min from Placa Catalunya. The location is perfect for those who want to go sightseeing and go out in the evenings. It is close to the central city square but is also very quiet. Our windows were facing the St. Anna Church. The staff is friendly and responsive. There was an issue with not working hairdryer and it was replaced the next day (thanks to Mariel).

Excellent location, close to the bus stops for airport shuttle and city sightseeing bus. Very close to the main walking street - La Rambla. You can easily walk everywhere - to the shops, to the Aquarium. Internet access is only in the lounge and there is only one computer but that's not a big problem.

Hotel Cortes is very conveniently situated in CalleSanta Ana and easy to reach from the airport bus terminal in Plaza Cataluna. The Hotel is unpretentious but very clean with adequate facilities. Continental breakfast is served in the adjoining bar/restaurant where lunch or dinner is available for around 10 euros. There are no spas or gymnasia but who needs those when you can get all the excercise you want walking the wonderful city of Barcelona.

The rooms were clean and i felt secure - important as a lone, female traveller. The staff went to some effort with complimentary fruit and bottled water in my room. The hotel has stone floors and it's proximity to the street meant it was a little noisy. it wouldn't put me off staying there again but i would bring ear plugs.

“Hotel location was right on the rambla, which was classic for as a good exit point during day and night. Breakfast was simple but that was enough to startup each day. Very close to the metro as well. The hotel staff was nice and pleasant and we hardly needed any of their services.” David, Telaviv |
