Nice double room,
Amazing location, clean enough and friendly ish staff.
Very noisy, outside and inside. Bed was small and uncomfortable. Smell of drains! Dark and dismal decor, felt like night time all the time in the room.
Location was excellent. Next door to Sol and Plaza de Mayor.
- Room was small and very dark. Walls were none existent! You could hear everyone from all directions - Bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world - WiFi was horrible! Other times it was connecting, most it wasn't. Extremely slow and unreliable
The Hotel Cortezo is conveniently situated within walking distance of many of Madrids tourist attractions including the Plaza de Mayor which is only five minutes away. The hotel has two lifts, is spotlessly clean, modern, comfortable and has free Wi fi which seems to be available through out the hotel. There is a bar and lounge area and a lovely view from the roof solarium. The breakfasts were outstanding, with not only continental breakfast available but bacon, sausage and scramble egg on offer. Staff were couteous, efficient and friendly, so all in all a very pleasant stay in a great city. We would all definately stay at the hotel again and would have no problem recommending it to friends and family.
The mattress on the bed was a little firm for my liking, but my friends slept soundly. The hotel is situated down a side street but in a commercial district with shops, restaurants, a club and cinema nearby so at variuos times it was awas a little noisy but not overly so.
Very good central location. Bigger hotel than expected but not too noisy. Excellent new spacious bathroom.
We found the bedroom quite pokey and dark.
Great location when travelling with children
No tea / coffee facilities in the room
The staffs were very friendly. Great location just 5 mins to the solo plaza.
1.good service. They help me with the guide, print train tickets, left luggages free! 2. 5 minutes walk to subway station 3. Clean and new decorations
Close to many restaurants tourist attractions and Metro. Buffet breakfast available.
The room was much too warm to sleep comfortably and there was no way to open window, even with radiator off the air conditioning didn't cool room down.
Firstly the staff were excellent and helpful the room was excellent for three people lots of space, very modern and excellent facilities. The hotel is clean, modern and has great facilities such as lifts, breakfast room ,tv lounge and left luggage. The wifi is a bit temperamental but when it works its great and its free which is always a bonus. The best thing about the hotel has to be the incredible view of all of Madrid from the rooftop terrace with sun lounges! Its absolutely stunning i would recommend this hotel to anyone great value for money!
The room given was not the one we booked. Was not the same as in the photo. Beds were uncomfortable. We requested for a double bed as we need some comfortalbe space for our baby to roll and play but we were given two single beds. The baby cot they gave us was torn and it looked like a cot that someone would have thrown away. We have paid in advance for 6 nights. But after one night (we arrived really late in madrid), we checked out and wasted a good 300euros plus for paying in advance. The receptionist was not helpful. When requested for the room we booked, he asked us to wait until morning and discuss with his colleague instead. The lift was not functioning either and we had to use the service lift, which was small. And we had to leave our baby stroller downstairs at a storage under the stairs.
The location was reasonble. The bathroom was modern, although I was shown an alternative (slightly larger) room with an old fashioned bathroom that did not look clean.
The room was dark, illuminated by two bedside lights and nothing else (no ceiling light). The window faced inwards to a covered courtyard resulting in reduced light entering the room, a depressing view and a lack of fresh air. The room was so small that the wardrobe could not be opened unless you re-located the small round table in the room. There wasn't really a suitable place to position it in the room without blocking access to one side of the bed. The room was too hot with no way of turning teh radiator off, particularly as there was no way to allow fresh air into the space The price was too high for such a poor facility.
The receptionist was informed to give us a wake up call but they did not call and we had a very early pick up. This could have caused a lot of problems for us had we overslept.
Room was amazing for the price
It was better value for money than we expected great food room staff location would stay again
The location was great! Very good breakfast
The rooms are small, you can hear everything that happens in the nearby rooms
Absolutely everything.Hotel is very well suited in the center near all atractions. Very easy to find.It is clean, cozy, has everything you need when you are on a city break. I would defenitely recomand it and if I would come in Madrid again I will stay here again.

very nice location. The staff is very Polite and helpful, must stay!
no kettle, the A/C was set to heater mode, which was way too uncomfortable, had to keep the windows open in winter...
Excellent location, spotlessly clean and staff were friendly :)
Pillows were hard and no double bed. I have to say you could hear everything that was going on, we even had conversations with our friends through the bathroom walls.
Location perfect, very central, walking distance to all historical sites.
On booking the room two months ahead, requested a double bed but instead was given a twin room with two single beds that were uncomfortable when united together as had wheels and kept on moving apart.
Easy access(near to Metro, 10 euro taxfare from Atocha station), good breakfast and a reasonable room charge.
Wi-fi connection in room needed to be improved more.
Great location. Decent staff.
Wifi unstable. You have to reconnect with a password every time you get back to the hotel. Bed wasn't comfy. You can hear yourself moving on the mattress. The hotel is noisy. The room was to hot in the first couple of days, and there was nothing to do - AC works only on heat!
